Brigador Killers is an isometric insurgent simulator by Stellar Jockey that has been released in Early Access. The game features a hybrid combat system where you can fight in vehicles as well as on foot. You also have bases that you can upgrade and develop in many ways. As this game can be weird at times, the progression can be pretty challenging at certain points. You basically have to complete missions to advance, and if you can’t complete a mission, you won’t be able to proceed further. The game can also be quite complicated at times. So, in this guide, we will provide you with a tips and tricks guide for beginners to have a good experience in Brigador Killers.

Your Aim Needs To Be Accurate

The main thing in this game is going to be your aim, and that needs to be accurate. At the beginning, you may get away with missing some shots, but as you progress, the game gets really hard. So, after reaching a certain level, missing shots is going to hurt and make the experience frustrating.

I’m not saying you can’t miss shots at all. Of course, missing shots in this game is common, but missing way too many shots in a single mission can cause you to fail. Enemies get stronger and stronger, and eventually, they can even one-shot you.

So, you need to work on your aim, and the best way to do that is by using a mouse. I don’t recommend playing this game on a controller, as it is pretty hard to aim using a gamepad. So, playing with a mouse and keyboard is going to be ideal here.

Don’t take my word for it. Even the developer has recommended on Steam that the game is intended to be played using a mouse and keyboard. So, if you want the best experience for yourself, the first step is going to be using a keyboard and mouse.

Loot Is Highly Important

The first six missions are going to be easy and may not take much of your time. However, things start to get much more complicated right after those missions. You play as a different character then, and he has much less health.

You won’t even have a weapon to begin with, so the missions are going to be difficult. That said, you can loot the areas to find weapons and other items. So, that should be your priority. In this game, when you die, you lose everything in your inventory.

You aren’t left with a single thing, so no matter how many items you have, they are not going to be enough. This means looting the areas thoroughly is going to be a priority. You can also replay the missions to get more loot and store it in the armory.

This way, you will be able to ensure that you can try to clear a level that you are stuck on with different equipment.

Always Have Bandages In Your Inventory

As the missions just get harder as you progress, you need to have some useful items in your inventory. You must have a few bandages with you all the time, as they heal 10 health points, and that is a lot considering you only have 20 health. So, make sure to have at least three or four in your inventory.

There are some missions where you have to take out around 30 different targets, all equipped with solid weapons. So, having a few bandages can work in your favor, as it can be really, really challenging to take out these enemies without getting hit.

While having bandages is highly important, you should also have a medkit with you. A medkit heals your health completely, so it will save you more time when you are low on health. Other than that, there is another healing item that only heals one health point.

Using that item when your health is over 15 will be better.

Using Cover Is Necessary

Now, in this game, there are certain missions where the enemies will gang up on you, and before you know it, you will be dead. The health bar goes down way too far when the enemies have a good weapon. That is going to be the case in many of the missions, as the majority of the enemies are going to have shotguns and automatic guns.

So, they can take you out in an instant. What you need to do against them is always stay in cover when fighting them. What I did in my playthrough was approach them and take down one of the enemies. Upon taking down one enemy, the others near him are usually alerted and start chasing you.

When that happened to me, I ran towards the nearest cover. From there, you simply have to wait and shoot the enemy as they come into your crosshairs. It’s going to be that simple. You will see how quickly you can take down the enemies with this tactic.

It may take more time, but it is so worth it, so make sure you use cover whenever necessary.

You Can Destroy Vehicles For Loot

You may not be aware of this, but you can literally destroy the vehicles in this game for loot. There are going to be many vehicles in some of the missions, and you can destroy them using the kick. It doesn’t take too many kicks to destroy a car.

When the car is about to be destroyed, make sure to run away to avoid getting hit by the explosion. Once the car has exploded, go near it and take everything you can. This way, you can find tons of useful materials that you may be short on.

This particularly helps with the items you need to make new items using the fabricator. So, destroy the vehicles whenever you can, and you can even salvage them. However, for that, you will have to drive a vehicle to the exit and put it on the green block on the right side of the hub. I am talking about the Angel Hub here.

There, you can salvage the vehicle for many more useful items. This way, if your inventory was full, you can get even more items thanks to the car not taking up any space in the inventory.

Having A Bag With You Is A Must

As I said before, loot is highly important in this game, and you can never get too much of it. So, no matter what you get and where you get something from, you need to take it. That said, your inventory cannot hold too many items, so you will usually find yourself leaving too many items behind.

That can be fixed by having a backpack. You can make a backpack using the fabricator, but before that, you can also find one in some missions. So, checking the areas thoroughly is just going to work in your favor. Storing whatever you can inside the bag and then in the inventory will allow you to store many more items.

Also, do note that if you die, you will lose the bag and all the items inside it too. So, you will have to build the bag using the fabricator again. That said, using the resources to build the bag is worth it, so make sure you get it every time.

Carefully Choose Your Weapons

Selecting weapons in this game is going to be tricky. There are quite a lot of weapons in this game, so you may not test out all of them, and that is perfectly fine. You simply need a few of them that are actually good. I have noticed that the shotguns and machine guns are the most useful.

Some shotguns can one-shot the enemies, which comes in handy a lot when there are too many enemies to deal with. There are some shotguns that may require more bullets, so testing is also important. That said, if your aim and distance are correct, you will one-shot most of the enemies.

Also, the machine guns are probably my favorite ones in the game. You can use them to spray a few enemies at once and take all of them out. You get 25 bullets in a single magazine, but they go out way too quickly, so be careful.

Fighting the enemies in cover is a must regardless of how good a weapon you have. So, the weapon alone will not make you win the fight.
