Fishing in Cozy Island is one of the main gathering you unlock while progressing. You cast your rod into the water, wait for a fish to bite, then play a short mini-game to reel. The fish in Cozy Island have different types, and each one is tied to a specific objective or quest. Fish can be cooked into meals, and consuming them allows you to gain stamina.

The Fishing Rod cannot be upgraded, so you’re bound to use the base-level rod. Some fish can be used in potions, so do check on them as well. Keeping the line too tight will snap, but too loose will allow the fish to escape. You can fish only in fishing spots, so get your hands on the Fishing Rod using the Gold Beet and fill the backpack with some rare fish.

How To Acquire a Fishing Rod

Unlock fishing in Cozy Island by purchasing the Fishing Rod from the NPC. This tool is essential to obtain if you want to catch fish, especially the rare ones. Make your way to the center of the map and turn right, and keep following the path till you reach the Fishing Lake.

The NPC sells the Fishing Rods here. Interact with the rabbit to get some fishing lessons. Casting a rod is an essential tool to start fishing in the Cozy Island.

Approach the Fishing Rod to learn how many Gold Beets are required. Make sure to have 3xGold Beet in your backpack before purchasing the Fishing Rod.

15xBeets are required to purchase a Gold Beet from a specific shop. Start by collecting the common Beets found around the island, and move to the area where you can buy items with Beets.

Once you’ve 3xGold Beet, move towards the Fishing Camp. Place the required Gold Beet inside the empty box. Go near the Fishing Rod and press E to purchase it.

How to Fish in Cozy Island

Move to the fishing spots scattered around the map on the right side. Equip the Fishing Rod from the backpack and hit the LMB to cast.

Approach water, equip the fishing rod, and press the interact key to cast. You need to wait for the ripples or bubbles. You will enter a mini-game where you need to balance reeling speed and tension when the fish bites. Stamina is also consumed while fishing, so make sure you have your belly full before fishing.

Keep pressing the LMB to reel in and catch the fish. Some fish are tougher to get, requiring you to maintain balance. Once successfully done, collect the fish to add to your backpack.

The Swordfish Fishing Spot in the far northeast side of the map. You can only catch Swordfish here. The Shark Fishing Spot is on the east-northeast of the map, and you can catch Sharks only. You can gain Fishing Master Achievement by catching 10 fish in Cozy Island.
