Cursemark is a roguelike game that can be quite challenging to play. The game features a variety of weapons that you can use, but of course, you will have to unlock most of them. That said, since sigils can be limited at the start, we will tell you which weapons are the best in Cursemark so you can unlock the strongest options early on.

Best Weapons In Cursemark

The following are the weapons in Cursemark ranked from best to worst:

Divine Spear

Arguably the best weapon in the game is the Divine Spear. This weapon, when paired with a specific build, completely demolishes enemies, and even without that setup, it remains an extremely solid choice. The base damage is good, the critical damage is hefty, and the range is very respectable.

There are no combo follow-ups with this weapon, but the delay before the second strike is not very long. In most situations, you will be able to land the second hit before the enemy has a chance to attack you. In the early areas, you will be able to take down most enemies in just two hits.

The enemies with the purple symbol above their heads are going to be fairly tanky, though. That said, as you continue increasing your damage throughout a run with blessings and runes, you will eventually be able to one-shot many enemies.

As for the specific build, you will need a rune known as the Embershot Rune. While this rune is fairly common, it is an absolute killing machine. It works best with thrusting weapons, and since the Divine Spear is a thrusting weapon, you will be able to deal massive amounts of damage. Upgrading this rune can allow you to one-shot almost every enemy in the game.

We even managed to turn boss fights into a complete joke with this setup. So, if you are looking to make the game significantly easier for yourself, go with this particular build. The other runes can be whatever you prefer, but similar runes that emit sprays of elemental damage are generally the best options.

Thunderous Strike

Among the best weapons in Cursemark, we consider Thunderous Strike the second-best weapon in the game. This weapon is extremely strong, mainly because of its follow-up attack. The final strike in its combo is incredibly powerful and has a chance to deal critical damage.

In our experience, that chance is surprisingly high. To put it simply, during our playthroughs with this weapon, we landed a critical hit on the final strike around 90 percent of the time, which is honestly incredible.

There is also a rune that allows you to increase the damage of follow-up attacks. Pairing that rune with this weapon can boost the damage output even further. Additionally, increasing your critical damage is going to be extremely valuable. So, if you find a rune that grants 100 percent additional critical damage, make sure to apply it to the weapon. Upgrading that rune will increase the damage even more.

Dragon Claws

Dragon Claws is one of the best weapons in Cursemark, mainly because of its burn effect. The initial hit has a follow-up attack that ignites enemies almost every single time. Additionally, if you dash and then press the attack button, you will launch a fire blast that also inflicts burn on enemies.

Burn deals damage over time, which is very useful. That said, the base damage is not particularly high, so using this weapon can be somewhat challenging. However, if you manage to find the Glass Eye, then you are in luck. Using the Glass Eye Talisman with Dragon Claws, or any other weapon that has a fast combo, can be incredibly powerful.

With this talisman, 90 percent of your health will be removed, but you will not take direct health damage. Instead, you will have around 12 armor that enemies must deplete first. However, if you can continue attacking without interruption, that armor may never reach zero, allowing you to keep defeating enemies without much trouble.

Shadow Blade

The fourth weapon on the list is the Shadow Blade. While this weapon does not have particularly high damage output, it can steal life on the final hit of its combo. We have noticed some inconsistencies with the effect, as not every final hit guarantees life steal, but it still triggers fairly often.

Because of that, this weapon can allow you to clear entire areas while maintaining full health, which is a huge advantage. Health is extremely important in this game, and gaining as much of it as possible from any source is incredibly valuable. As a result, stealing life from the final strike is a very impressive ability.

However, using this weapon is not always easy, especially when you are surrounded by enemies. To get the most out of this weapon, you will need a bit of luck. With the right build, though, you can deal substantial damage while maintaining a healthy amount of survivability.

Brumal Scythe

The Brumal Scythe is a solid weapon, but it does not really have the highest base damage. However, it performs ice strikes and leaves behind a frost trail that deals damage over time. Because of this, the weapon can be somewhat tricky to use, but in the right hands, it can be incredibly powerful.

Pairing it with a rune that allows you to spray ice damage is going to be a major advantage. That said, the overall damage output still does not quite match what the Divine Spear or Thunderous Strike can achieve.

Knight’s Sword

This is the most basic weapon in the game and is fairly simple to use. There are no special abilities attached to this weapon. You simply enter the battlefield and start swinging. That is essentially all there is to it. The sword features a three-hit combo. The first two attacks are standard strikes, while the third attack is a thrust.

With the right talismans and runes that increase weapon damage, the Knight’s Sword can deal impressive damage. That said, you will need to spend a considerable amount of time experimenting with builds and figuring out which runes work best with it.

While it may not be as flashy as some of the other weapons in the game, it remains a reliable choice that can perform very well when properly optimized.

Wave Of Decay

As a weapon, Wave of Decay did not seem particularly impressive to us. The damage output is very low, and the status effect it inflicts is not strong enough to make up for it. This weapon delivers only a single hit that deals very little damage to enemies, and the poison effect is not impactful enough to justify its shortcomings.

Currently, we have not found a build that allows this weapon to shine. Due to that, choosing it may simply end up wasting your time.
