As you start the game and finish a couple of quests, you will receive a certain quest with the objective of finding the Volcanic Island. You need to locate this island and save your partner from Aluza. So, in this guide, we will explain how you can find the Volcanic Island in Dead Weight.

How to Find the Volcanic Island in Dead Weight

As you may already be aware, you need to dispel the fog throughout the map and discover different islands. You can find the Volcanic Island by clearing away the fog and traveling through unexplored areas. This process can take some time, but you do need to spend time exploring in this game if you want to uncover the island.

Also, note that if you do find the island and die during the fight, you will have to locate it again because the islands are randomized in every new run. So, make sure not to land on the island immediately after finding it. Instead, complete all of your preparations before taking on the big fight.

Boosting Up the Process

While this process of wandering around the map, fighting enemies, and visiting different event islands can take quite a bit of time, there are a few ways you can speed it up. You do not have to keep exploring all the time manually because, with the help of the lighthouse, you can discover more of the map without doing much.

However, make sure the lighthouse is upgraded because that allows it to dispel more fog. Then, use the lighthouse to clear as much fog as possible, and if you are lucky, you may discover the Volcanic Island in Dead Weight without spending too much time searching for it.

However, even if you do not find it that way, there is no need to worry. You need to make sure you have installed the telescope on your ship. Also, make sure to upgrade it because, as you travel, you will uncover a much larger area. This makes exploring far more efficient and allows you to find the island much faster.

Alternative Method to Find the Volcanic Island

Now, this method is not guaranteed to work, but we used it in two playthroughs and it worked both times, so the probability may be much higher than expected. What you need to do is, despite having the option to duel, select the option to let the ship drift. What this does is take you to a random yet important island.

You can do this as many times as you want because, for now, there is no limit. That said, make sure not to waste your resources on buying fuel. Also, do not choose the town as your destination. Instead, simply let the wind carry you away, and this way you may end up finding the Volcanic Island you are looking for.

In our first playthrough, we reached the Volcanic Island on just the second attempt using this method. Then, in another playthrough, it took only three attempts, which is still not bad at all. So, make sure to give this method a try if you do not want to spend a lot of time searching for the island.

However, once you have defeated Azula, a new status effect called Madness will be introduced. It will be inflicted on your hero after you let the ship drift, so from that point onward you will have to be much more careful.
