It’s an underwater survival/exploration game where you have to dive into an Abyssal Pool looking for Eldritch Idols and resources to help you survive as the day counts down to the great flood. Scavenging for resources is a big part of the game, and as you progress further, you’ll soon start needing Blessed Items to access some upgrades.
In this guide, we’ll give you two ways to get Blessed Items in the game.

How to Get Blessed Items in Dive or Die
Item upgrades are a key part of progressing through the story of Dive or Die. During the early hours, you’ll mostly need items like Iron Ore, Aluminum, Planks, etc., which you’ll find while exploring the biomes. Some resources, such as Algae Tissue and Rain Rot, can also be acquired by killing monsters.
However, once you get past the initial few upgrades, you’ll soon start needing items like Blessed Iron Ore or Blessed Rain Rot. You won’t find these naturally while exploring the world. There are two main ways to collect Blessed Items.
We’ll discuss both of these methods below.
Permanent Method – Blessing a Biome
The most reliable way to farm Blessed Items in Dive or Die is by Blessing a Biome. Unlike regular Blessings that give your Survivors a unique perk, Blessing a Biome transforms the resources and monsters in that specific zone. The biome becomes more dangerous once it’s Blessed, but you’ll also start finding Blessed Items as you explore.
To Bless a Biome, you’ll have to find the Underwater Altar located within it. These are usually hidden and require some exploring to find. You’ll hear a faint whisper that gets louder as you draw closer to the altar.
Once you find an Underwater Altar, interact with it using a Diver and choose the Offer Your Life option. Doing so sacrifices the Diver, ends your dive, and Blesses the Biome. In addition, you’ll add an extra day to the flood countdown for making the sacrifice.
Since you’ll be losing a Survivor when you Bless a Biome, don’t use your main Diver. Instead, recruit a new Survivor that you don’t plan on keeping and use them for the sacrifice. Keep in mind that Blessing a Biome is permanent and can’t be reversed.
Temporary Method – During the Gazing Moon Event
If you don’t want to permanently Bless a Biome, there’s an alternative way to get Blessed Items, although it requires a bit more work.
Wait for the Gazing Moon event to appear, then dive into the depths of the Abyssal Pool. During this event, moonbeams will periodically lock onto you as you swim. After a while, the moonbeam locks on and fires a blast that can burst your entire health pool in a single hit.
However, if you manage to bait the moonbeam into firing at a resource that can be Blessed, the moonbeam will Bless the item as it hits. You’ll have to find the resource you want to Bless and lure the moonbeam to strike it instead. It takes a bit more time, but if you’re farming late-game resources such as Gold without Blessing the Biome, it’s a solid alternative.
Not every item can be Blessed, however. You can check the Resources tab in the Library to see which items are eligible.
When To Bless a Biome in Dive or Die
Blessing a Biome becomes more important as you progress further into the main campaign. While it makes the biome more dangerous, the resource yield of the biome increases. The added bonus of increasing your countdown even by a single day is also worth the hassle.
Ideally, you want to Bless a Biome when you’ve explored it thoroughly, have collected all the Maps, and have a decent idea of where the resource nodes usually spawn. That way, you can quickly navigate the biome and collect all the Blessed Items without having to fight every single monster.
