Don’t Scream Together – Tips And FAQs

Don't Scream Together

Don’t Scream Together is an online co-op version of the vastly popular Don’t Scream by Digital Cybercherries. The game will throw jump scares at you one after the other, and you have to make sure you and your friends don’t scream, no matter how scary it gets. If you end up screaming or making any loud noises, that will be game over in these woodlands. For more information on Don’t Scream Together, check out its official Steam page here.

The primary objectives and most of the things are mostly the same as they were in the Single-Player version, except that here, the threat isn’t just about the screams, but you’re being hunted as well.

Introduction

Don’t Scream Together can’t be played without a microphone, and you’ll have to keep it on for the entire playthrough. All you have to do is survive till 8:00 AM, and you’ll be able to successfully end the run.

For lore reasons, even if you survive till 8:00 AM, the forest refuses to let you leave. The run will end in the morning, but for the true ending, where you finally escape the forest, you’ll have to discover all the locations and collect all the relics.

You also have to watch out for traps, hunters, and wild animals to survive. If you stay in one place for too long, you’ll get discovered by the hunters.

You’ll have to stay on the move and discover symbols in different locations to stay safe, and also make sure that your camcorder doesn’t run out of battery.

Game Modes

There are two primary game modes: Cursed and Together. In Together, if you or any of your friends scream or die, the game will end. However, in Cursed, if a player screams or dies in co-op, they’ll return as a hunter and will be after your life.

You can also play the Cursed mode by yourself. The CPU-controlled hunters will be chasing after you for the entire run, so you can’t afford to stay in one place for too long.

Note that the runs can be made drastically easier if you just want to experience the old school horror without the threat of the hunters. Just disable hunters in the rules before starting a run.

Exploration

There’s a lot to explore in this game, and you’ll always have to be moving because time will stop if you’re not moving. Keep going from one place to the other, interact with the symbols, and collect batteries for the camcorder.

The compass below the coordinates shows the nearby undiscovered location, giving you a purpose to keep walking.

Furthermore, if you’re unsure where to go, you can also look up undiscovered locations from the progress menu. The coordinates for each location are written under it, even if you’ve yet to visit it.

After you’ve found a location, you’ll have to activate the symbol inside it. This symbol can be anywhere inside the buildings, and interacting with it often means triggering a soft jump scare.

Gameplay

As the game begins, you’ll start inside a watch tower. Interact with the symbol inside it to unlock the gate. There will be a battery outside, pick it up and move ahead.

Once you get down and start moving, you’ll still have a few minutes till the sun sets and the jump scares start to roll in. You can use this time to explore some areas that might be a little too scary at night.

After its night, keep moving around as you search for batteries and new locations using the compass. Keep in mind that you won’t be able to discover every location in a single run.

As you progress and unlock more safe locations, your starting location will change, making it easier for you to explore and find new locations without traveling too much.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to spot the traps?

You can easily spot the traps by the glowing red light near them. Traps are usually near the locations, so you don’t have to worry about stepping into a pitfall while exploring the wilderness. Just watch closely on the ground near any location for a red light, and if there is, there might be a trap.

Is there an Easy Mode in Don’t Scream Together?

No, there isn’t any specific difficulty setting in the game. However, if you’re playing solo or with friends, you can disable hunters from the rules before starting a game. This will prevent any hunter or wild animals from spawning and killing you, and you’ll only have to survive the night without screaming.

How to get the True Ending?

You can get the true ending by discovering all 46 locations and gathering all 17 relics. Once you complete the game 100% with nothing more to discover, you’ll have to survive till the morning, and the forest will finally let you escape.

How to avoid the hunters?

You can avoid hunters by always staying on the move and interacting with the symbols in the locations. These symbols provide temporary protection to you against the hunters. You can also manually turn off your flashlight for a short while when you suspect a hunter might be nearby to throw them off the trail.

How to find the locations?

The compass under the coordinates in the top-left section of the screen shows you the next undiscovered location. Furthermore, you can also check the progress option in the menu. You’ll find the coordinates of every undiscovered location listed there, and it can be very effective when you’re searching for the final few locations for the 100% completion.
