Dungeon Rampage is a co-op hack-and-slash dungeon crawler where you can play with up to three friends, meaning that, including you, there can be up to four players total. The game was just recently released in early access and has been receiving praise from almost everyone. It is quite impressive for a game that releases in early access and receives such a positive reception from the fandom.
That said, the game can be a little complicated to play, so you may want to know about some things before you start. If you are having trouble while playing this game, then worry not; here, in this guide, I will provide you with some of my advanced tips and tricks in Dungeon Rampage so you can have the best experience possible.

Don’t Waste Your Coins And Chests
As a beginner, you might be tempted to open the chests and spend your coins. However, it is not worth it at this stage, as you are most likely to receive low-quality weapons that you will soon replace with something better. I am not suggesting that you avoid opening chests entirely; rather, it is better to wait until you reach a higher level.
I recommend reaching at least level 15 before opening chests, although reaching level 20 would be even better. This will increase your chances of obtaining higher-quality weapons. Additionally, if you acquire enough weapons, do not waste the remaining chests. Save them for later, as you may find even better weapons as you continue to level up.
In short, do not open your chests or spend your coins at the start. It may take some time to level up, but the effort spent grinding will be worth it in the long run.
Level Up Faster By Farming A Higher Level Dungeon
You can earn EXP from all of the dungeons, but not all of them provide the same amount. This is because the higher your level, the more EXP you will receive. The further you advance, the more EXP you gain. So, what is the best way to level up? Is simply progressing enough, or would farming be more optimal?
To farm efficiently, you need to reach the last jungle level. There, you can accumulate a large amount of EXP while also collecting some of the best loot. This approach allows you to level up quickly and be able to open the chests much earlier.
Play With Friends – It Will Be Super Fun
You can play this game with randoms without any problems. The game is quite fun even when played with randoms, and the difficulty is not too high. However, playing with friends makes the experience even more enjoyable. Playing together can be very addictive, so I would highly recommend giving it a try.
Unfortunately, there is no friends pass in this game, so your friend will need to buy a copy. This should not be an issue, as the game is quite affordable. Be sure to try it with your friends, but if you prefer playing with randoms, that works perfectly fine as well.
Playing with randoms can be quite fun sometimes, as they will most of the time be of a higher level and will try to help you clear the stages. This happened to me every time I played with randoms.
Understand Your Characters
If you are playing solo or with fewer than four players, you may end up using more than one character. It is important to understand your characters well. Even when playing with three friends, you still need to know the character you are controlling. Each character is limited to specific types of weapons they can use.
For example, the Ranger can use bows, swords, and magic scrolls; the Sorcerer can use lightning spellbooks, staves, and magic scrolls; and the Battle Chef can use meat cleavers, cooking pots, and throwing weapons. Understanding each character’s weapons will help you utilize them more effectively. The Ranger may seem like a long-range character, but with the spread shot, he can be deadly even in close quarters. Practice with all the characters to learn their strengths and how to maximize their potential.
In battle, you can perform normal attacks, special attacks, and charged attacks. There is also a rage mode, which can be activated once you have gathered enough points in the dungeon.
You should also upgrade your character’s stats. Keep in mind that you receive very limited points with each upgrade. Initially, you will get more points, but later on, you will only receive two points per upgrade. At the beginning, focus on Melee Power and Max Health, then shift your focus to Fury and Max Mana.
Manage Your Storage
Your storage can fill up quickly in this game, so it is a good idea to start managing it from the beginning. You can buy more storage, but even then, it will fill up fast. It is better to scrap old weapons or those you rarely use. Even if a weapon has good stats, if you do not have a use for it or already have a better one, it may be worth scrapping so you can potentially acquire a weapon that is more useful than your current main weapon.
By scrap, I mean selling your weapons.
Explore The Dungeon Thoroughly
Fight all of the enemies and explore the dungeon so you can find every item and chest. Do not rush to the finish, especially if you are playing with others. Let them explore, and you should do the same. Running straight to the exit will not be beneficial. Instead, help your teammates and thoroughly explore the dungeon to find everything possible.
Traps Can Be More Deadly Than Enemies
You will encounter many traps in the dungeon, and since the game is in Early Access, their hitboxes may sometimes seem off. Do not worry about that and take your time while passing through the traps. There are different types of traps, and they can take a significant portion of your health. Be especially careful of the spikes, as they often appear in large quantities. Getting hit by just a few of them can deplete a lot of your health.
I have even seen high-level players get crushed by traps while having no trouble defeating monsters. So yes, traps can be more dangerous than enemies, and you should always stay on guard.
Unlock More Heroes And Pets
You will start the game as the Berserker, and you will not have a choice in this. This is the default character given to everyone, and by no means is it weak. However, it may not match your preferred playstyle, which could affect your enjoyment. For now, there are three more heroes available. You can unlock them with gems, which you earn by leveling up.
Try to play with high-level players to level up faster. Also, the more heroes you have, the more EXP you will receive when clearing a dungeon. In addition to heroes, there are also pets you can buy. Pets are very helpful in the game, especially the dragon. However, pets are much more expensive than heroes, so it may take a lot of time before you can unlock one.
