Which Character Should You Choose In Escape From Tarkov – Scav Or PMC

Before you start the game, you need to understand both characters. The one on the left, Scav, is a character who is assigned random gear. On the other hand, PMC is your main character, to whom you assign the gear and take it into the battlefield.

So, you may be wondering that since PMC is your main character, you should choose that. However, that is not the case. For players who know the ins and outs of Escape From Tarkov, sure, PMC is the way to go. However, for beginners, it is not ideal.

If you are a beginner, you should always start your game with Scav. You are given a hefty stash, which can be very useful in battle. However, if you take gear from that stash and you are a beginner, you are most likely going to lose it. If you die in the game, you lose all of your items. That is why it is too risky for you to select PMC if you are a beginner.

However, if you choose Scav, then you do not have to worry about the gear. That is because you get random gear in each raid, so even if you lose it, it will not matter. Also, do note that when playing as Scav, you will not get the full time to complete a raid. That is because you join an ongoing raid, so you will notice that the time is pretty limited.

Things Not To Do As A Scav

If you are playing as a Scav, then there are certain things you should not do. As a Scav, you can explore freely because the other Scavs will not attack you. So you must not attack them, as they will become hostile. Scavs will be friendly toward you, but if you start a fight, they will make sure to end it.

So, I recommend using your Scav runs to explore the area and learn the map. Another thing you should not do as a Scav is just wander around without a purpose. That would be a waste of time. You should complete some of your early game tasks so you can level up.
