How to Solve The Herald’s Rest Puzzle

Immediately after starting the room, look down to spot a chest at the foot of the bed. Note the symbol on top of the chest.

Inspect the lock. The lock has 11 blocks that can be flipped to either show a dark side or a light side.

Back up and head towards the bed. Look up to note the symbols on the ceiling of the bed. You can interact with the bed to lie down on it.

You’ll notice that the ceiling of the bed has a similar design to the lock that you saw on the chest. On top of that, you’ll also note that some of the symbols in the ceiling have features that match the symbol that you saw on top of the chest. Remember the position of these matching symbols.

Return to the lock and flip the blocks that match the position of the symbol on the bed’s ceiling.

Pick up the Statue and the Metal Plate from inside the chest.
How to Solve The Library of Forgotten Tongues Puzzle

Turn around and look at the large bookshelf in the corner of the room. Pick up the turquoise book from one of its shelves.

You’ll notice that there are four combination dials on the four pillars of the bookshelf. The pillars have distinct symbols drawn on each of them.

Inspect the book and open it to notice two images on its two pages. Note that the two images are mirror opposites of each other, with some differences. Each side also has a symbol marked in a red circle in the corner.

Pin the book to your inventory, then check the symbols on the pillar and match them with the symbols on the left page of the book. Then look at the right page and count the number of objects in those specific areas.

The correct answer for this puzzle, from left to right, is 6 | 7 | 8 | 9. Entering the combination opens a hidden door in the middle of the bookshelf. Check inside to find two more Metal Plates.
How to Solve The Reflections of the Damned

Turn left from the bookshelf and head toward the mirror beside the painting.

Note that there’s a small slider at the bottom part of the painting’s frame, which can be moved left or right to reveal human teeth and vampire teeth. There are seven paintings in the room with similar sliders.

Look at each painting through the reflection in the mirror. You’ll note that some of the portraits in the paintings aren’t reflected when you look at them through the mirror. This is your clue that these portraits are vampires.

Look at each painting through the mirror to figure out which are vampires. Then move the slider to the corresponding position under each painting. There are four vampires in total, as shown in the image above.
How to Solve The Torn by Claws Puzzle

As soon as you complete the last puzzle, you’ll see some weird symbols crop up on the four vampire paintings. Go over each of these paintings and note down these symbols.

Head to the left side of the bed and zoom in on the lock on the drawer of the cabinet. There’s also another piece of Metal Plate on top of the cabinet. Remember to pick it up. Also, note the bird cage on top of the cabinet.

Rotate the dials to match the symbols you saw on the four paintings.

Open the door once the lock falls off and pick up the Key from the drawer.
How to Solve the Peaks and Valleys Puzzle

With the Key in hand, head towards the door to the Balcony. Before you head out, turn left and check the drawers on the vanity table.

You’ll find two more Metal Pieces in two of these drawers, bringing your total to six.

Unlock the door to the Balcony using the Key and head outside.

At the center edge of the balcony, you’ll find a Journal and a Spyglass on the railing. Pick them up. Note the empty slot in the middle of the railing.

Open the Journal. The entries in the pages mark the location of specific places on certain dates. Pin it to your screen for now.

Turn towards the door and on its left, you’ll spot a map hanging on the wall. Take a closer look at it. Note that you can move the name tags for different locations across the map.

Equip the Spyglass and use it to look at the locations in the distance. You need to move the name tags to their correct locations on the map by using the information found in the Journal and looking through the Spyglass.

Check the image above for the solution to this puzzle.

Once you put the labels in their proper spots, the painting moves away, and you’ll find a Statue in a hidden compartment. Pick it up.
How to Solve The Balancing Act Puzzle

Head back inside the room and go to the bird cage you saw earlier on the left bedside cabinet.

Inspect the bird cage to see a maze puzzle panel. There’s a ball inside the maze. Your goal is to get the ball all the way to the exit at the bottom of the panel.

You can rotate the panel freely, and gravity takes care of moving the ball. This is a pretty straightforward puzzle and shouldn’t take too long to solve.

The door to the cage pops open, and you’ll find a third Statue inside the cage. Pick it up.
How to Solve The Dragon’s Wrath Puzzle

Turn left from the bird cage that you solved just now to spot another bigger bird cage. You can notice another statue inside.

You can see a design similar to the six Metal Pieces you’ve picked up on the top part of the cage. Additionally, you’ll note that you can rotate the bird cage to access different sections of the cage.

Use the Metal Pieces in your inventory to complete the design. Pick up the Statue from the bird cage once the door opens.
How to Solve the Feathers in Formation Puzzle

Head back to the balcony and turn left. You’ll spot the final Statue on the left railing. Pick it up.

Go around the balcony to locate all 5 slots on the railings. Now start placing the five statues in each of the slots. You’ll note that the tiles under the railing shift depending on the statue you’re placing. Placing the correct statue will cause the tiles to move to a closed position. If the statue is wrong, the tile will return to an open position.

The correct order of statues from left to right is Owl | Falcon | Bat | Crane | Raven. Once the statues are placed in their correct slots, a hidden compartment near the center railing will be unlocked. Pick up the Key.
How to Solve The Treasure Box Puzzle.

Return inside and head toward the door beside the mirror that you used for the vampire puzzle earlier. Use the Key to unlock the door to the bathroom.

Before you do anything, let’s pick up a few key items, namely: the Winding Key, the Jewelry Box, and the Box. We’ve marked their location in the image above.

Inspect the box in your inventory and move it around. You’ll spot an empty slot on its side.

Drag the Winding Key from your inventory to the empty slot.

Rotate the cranks on both sides of the box to open it. You’ll find a Key inside. Pick it up

Inspect the Jewelry Box and use the Key to unlock it. Pick up the items inside to collect the Note and the Pendant.
How to Solve The Pendant’s Silent Plea Puzzle

Inspect the Note and pin it to your screen.

Then, inspect the Pendant in your inventory. Check its back to find a dial.

Use the code on the Note to rotate the dial across the letters. The word you’re looking for is DROWNME.

As soon as you solve the puzzle, the dial on the Pendant starts spinning. The front part of the Pendant also starts glowing.
How to Solve the Phantom Grasp Puzzle

Head toward the bathtub and check the three handles hanging above. You’ll notice that each of these handles has unique ridges.

The back wall of the bathroom has six handprints. Use the pattern on the handprints to determine which chains to pull. The correct order is Right | Left | Middle | Middle | Left | Right. This will cause the handles to rise up and open four hidden chambers on the floor containing four Pipes.
How to Solve The Pipe Dream Puzzle

Go around the bathroom and pick up all four Pipes.

You’ll note that each of the Pipes has a specific set of openings. The chambers where you picked them up have additional pipes running through the plumbing system.

Place the Pipes to fix the plumbing system is complete. Once you place the Pipes in their proper slots, a faucet emerges from the floor. Use it to fill up the bathtub.
How to Solve The Whispers of the Drowned Heart Puzzle

Once the bathtub is filled with water, select the Pendant and place it in the water.

The water will turn black.
How to Solve The Obsidian Soak Puzzle

Interact with the black water in the bathtub to switch to a dark world. You’ll spot an electrical orb floating above the bathtub.

You’ll also notice three marked spots on the ground. One with the symbol of a footprint, and the other two with the symbol of a candelebra.

Note down their positions and interact with the black water to return to the normal world. You’ll spot a candelebra in the bathroom. Drag it to one of the candelebra positions you saw in the dark world.

The second candelebra is outside, near the bookshelf. Drag it to the position near the bathroom door.

Head inside the bathroom and stand on the spot with the footprint symbol. This will trigger a short cutscene. You’ll see a white key floating above the bathtub.
How to Solve the Into The Eternal Night Puzzle

Interacting with it drops the Key into the bathtub. Pick it up.

Use it with the door beside the bookshelf to unlock it and complete the Sweet Dreams chapter in Escape Simulator 2
