Grind Survivors – All Classes Ranked

A comprehensive ranking of all the classes in Grind Survivors.

Grind Survivors is an bullet-hell game with roguelike mechanics that really tests your skills. You’ll find yourself obliterating waves of enemies in long, fast-paced runs with randomized buffs. There is a vast variety of weapons that you can experiment with in this title. That said, which class is the best in Grind Survivors? Find out below.

For more information on Grind Survivors, you can check out the official Steam page here.

There are four different classes in Grind Survivors and finding the best class can really change your runs. You can dominate all the levels and even the endless mode if you know how to use the best class properly.

This guide ranks all of the classes and focuses on the pros and cons of each character.

4. Riven

Riven is a really strong class in the game, but there are quite a few reasons why we’re ranking this class at the bottom of the list. Firstly, the class shines in close range, but that space is really dangerous to deal with in this game, where spacing is key. Additionally, Riven’s active ability requires you to be at low health to work at maximum efficiency.

In a sense, this class can be turned into the highest DPS character, but the conditions that you need to meet almost require you not to get hit. To fully utilize Riven’s potential, you need to always stay at low health and play like you’re doing a no-hit run. These conditions are the reason why this otherwise powerful class is at the bottom of our ranking.

3. Vanta

Vanta is pretty technical to understand, and is actually a really tough class to handle. Even her active ability requires you to focus on increasing your pickup range to start dealing with hordes. Vanta can take you out of a run-ending situation when you’re getting jumped by hordes of enemies with the help of her main ability.

But that’s just about the only thing that this class is good for. Yes, she has great crowd control, but you can build Cascade and Solara to do the same. Vanta does not offer anything special except for the fact that this class is pretty good for farming Ash in the game.

2. Cascade

Cascade is just as good for end-game as she is during the early game. You get to learn all of the basic mechanics through this class, and Cascade is actually very versatile. You can rock almost any weapon with this class, and make the most out of long-range firearms.

Cascade already makes bullets bounce by default, and additional piercing buffs can turn this class into a horde-destroying machine. Even though the active ability is not as good as the number one class in this list, it still packs a punch.

The main ability for this class basically increases the bounce and range of bullets to an exceptionally high level, which allows you to clear hordes if you’re in a pinch. Overall, Cascade is a really well-balanced class that is also quite easy to understand and use.

1. Solara

Solara in Grind Survivors.

This is the first class that you unlock after Cascade in Grind Survivors, and she is really strong in this game. Everything comes down to crowd control during the later part of your runs, and there’s no better character to deal with hordes of enemies than Solara. Her active ability plays an important role, especially when you pair it with all of the health buffs.

Her special ability is Rail Gun, which deals damage based on your maximum health. This means not getting hit with her is key to dealing the most damage. Additionally, ability cooldown buffs allow you to cycle through her main attack swiftly.

It’s hard to get used to her play style, but once you start capitalizing on her ability, even the hardest of runs become trivial in this game.
