Before you can fully upgrade Wishvale, however, you’ll need to scour the world for essential seeds, livestock, and a few key items that make managing your farm far more efficient.

Preparing for the Journey
Before heading out, it helps to have a bit of money on hand. Some seeds and animals are purchased directly from merchants rather than acquired through dialogue or inquiries. If you are short on funds, farming JP, experience, and gold becomes much easier once your party reaches around level 15. At that point, repeatable encounters and efficient grinding methods open up, allowing you to earn tens of thousands of currency even in the early hours of the game.
With that taken care of, it’s time to gather the cornerstone pieces of Wishvale’s farm and ranch.
Rippletide: Pig
Your first major stop is the southern portion of the map in Rippletide. Once you arrive, look for a young boy who functions as a merchant.
- Speak to him and browse his inventory.
- The pig is the last item on his list.
- Purchase it and send it back to Wishvale’s ranch.
This pig is one of the core animals required to build out your ranch system and will contribute to your town’s overall progression.
Emberglow City: Companions, Supplies, and Seeds
Next, make your way to Emberglow.
Visiting the Inn
When you arrive:
- Go inside the inn.
- If this is your first visit and you haven’t already recruited her, this is where you can obtain Macy, a useful early companion.
General Store Purchase
After leaving the inn:
- Head to the general store.
- Buy the Fortifying Herb, an item required later for development and progression.
Eastern District: Potato and Shroom Seeds
From there, travel to Emberglow’s Eastern District.
- Locate the house where Macy is usually seated.
- Inside, you’ll find two NPCs:
- A gossiping woman
- A frail boy
Speak to both:
- The gossiping woman provides the potato seed.
- The frail boy provides the ember shroom bed seed, although it may not appear immediately. If it doesn’t show up directly in your inventory, step outside and check nearby—you’ll find it waiting there.
These two seeds form the backbone of your early vegetable production in Wishvale.
Theatropolis: Broccoli Seed
Your next destination is Theatropolis.
- Upon arriving, travel toward the western side of the city.
- Look for a small garden with a little girl standing nearby.
- Speak to her and use the Inquire action.
After doing so, you can collect the broccoli seed from the garden behind her.
With this, your seed collection continues to expand.
Managing Your Garden Efficiently in Wishvale
As you start upgrading Wishvale, there are two absolutely critical town upgrades you should prioritize as soon as they become available.
Yield-Boosting Upgrade
The first upgrade directly improves crop yield, increasing the number of items you receive from each harvest. This significantly raises the long-term value of your farm.
Harvesting Box (Auto-Harvest)
The second key item is the Harvesting Box.
Normally:
- After around eight battles in the open world, your crops and animals become ready for harvest.
- You must physically return to Wishvale to collect them.
With the Harvesting Box:
- Crops and ranch goods are automatically collected for you.
- You can retrieve them later without being in Wishvale at the time.
Keeping Wishvale upgraded ensures your farm and ranch continue producing resources passively while you explore.
More Seeds from Emberglow: Cabbage
If you’re still missing cabbage seeds, return to Emberglow.
- Enter the chapel.
- Look for the Overly Devout Merchant.
- Purchase the cabbage seed from them.
This seed is a staple crop and another requirement for fully enriching Wishvale.
Valore City: Grape and Paprika Seeds
From Emberglow, head to Valore.
Grape Seed
- Upon entering the city, head downward into the residential area.
- Speak with the Longtime Resident.
- They sell the grape seed.
Paprika Seed
After acquiring the grape seed:
- Travel north and then west to reach Valore Main Boulevard.
- Enter the tavern.
- Speak with the Tavern Regular.
This NPC provides collection point information.
Using this info:
- Cross to the opposite side of the boulevard.
- Move down and to the right.
- You’ll uncover the paprika seed at the revealed location.
Rippletide Revisited: Lettuce Seed
Return once more to Rippletide.
- Find Marina, located in a building on the far side of the area.
- Speak to her to purchase the lettuce seed.
Cragspear Slums: Cow and Carrot Seed
The final stop on your route is Cragspear
Purchasing the Cow
- Head into the slums, moving south from the main area.
- Speak with the Disagreeable Merchant.
- Purchase the cow for your ranch.
With this, your animal roster expands further.
Finding the Carrot Seed
Nearby:
- Speak with the Whimsical Writer.
- Use Inquire to obtain collection point information.
This information leads directly to the carrot seed, which you can then collect.
