Halcyon Days at Taoyuan is usually very peaceful and cozy, but all of that changes as soon as you step into the cave. Each cave features a mythical beast that is far stronger than regular beasts. Huang is the final boss of the Fire Cave, which is the last unlockable cave, and you’ll have to defeat it to progress the story and achieve the endings. Preparations To Defeat Huang
Huang is the boss of the final cave, the Fire Cave. Defeating Huang without any upgraded weapons is going to be extremely challenging. The boss hits hard, but also has a ton of HP, so you should have at least Iron weapons to deal consistent damage to the boss.
Furthermore, the Fire Cave doesn’t become accessible until you’ve fully repaired the fifth shrine and have met Huang in the dream.

Huang will then ask you to come to the Fire Cave and defeat it to end the trial. The next time you arrive at the cave, you’ll find the Fire Cave accessible.
You’ll also get the Virtue’s Reward Robe for repairing the fifth shrine, so you can equip it before heading to the Fire Cave. Be sure to bring lots of intermediate and advanced tonics to heal yourself.

After the Fifth shrine is repaired, you’ll get mail from Zhang Wenchang, asking you to bring Huang’s Plume to repair the final shrine.
The enemies in the Fire Cave are strong, but you’ll also have upgraded weapons and armor at this point. Huang is in the deepest room in the cave, just after the room with the statue.

How To Defeat Huang
Huang has two primary attacks. The firebird will make flaming feathers fall to the ground from the ceiling. These burning feathers deal a lot of damage, and you’ll have to avoid accidentally walking into them.
Furthermore, Huang will then cover itself in a flaming cloak, sending out fireballs in a spiral motion. You have to avoid these fireballs. Huang will send out fireballs right after covering itself in the flaming cloak, and then right before removing the cloak.

You have to approach the boss when it removes the flaming cloak, and then deal damage to it. Keep attacking Huang until it raises one of its feathers to bring down the attack. Immediately dash away if a flaming feather is about to fall on you.
Keep in mind that you can still damage Huang while it’s flying around, while being cloaked in fire. Even if you have upgraded weapons, this fight can be quite long, so bring enough healing items with you.

Don’t hesitate to heal yourself immediately after getting damaged once. Huang deals a ton of damage, and even with the best armor, you might get cornered if you don’t heal yourself for too long.
As the battle goes on, you’ll have to chase around Huang and attack as it comes out of the cloak repeatedly until you bring its HP down to zero.

Rewards For Defeating Huang
Defeating Huang means that you can now choose to end the trial. This is a major decision and can lead you to one of the game’s endings.
Furthermore, if you choose not to end the trial, you’ll get Huang’s Spirit Plume, Huang’s Egg, the Rebirth Feather accessory, and Huang’s Feather.

Huang’s Feather is required to craft Huang’s clothing at Lui Chulan, while Huang’s Egg is a pet that you can equip. Furthermore, you can also equip the Rebirth Feather accessroy and it will cause you to revive once after falling in battle.
You can then bring Huang’s Plume to Zhang Wenchang, and he’ll make preparations to repair the final shrine.
