Redmane Overview

Redmane is a Destruction-class Warden in Highguard who is labeled a breacher and close-range skirmisher. He comes from the High Steppes, channeling animal aspects into his physiology, and this is reflected by the brute force, mobility, and structural destruction abilities in his kit.

Redmane excels at creating openings, so use his abilities to force defenders to reposition. He specializes in breaking walls and assaulting enemy positions during the match.

  • Pounce (Tactical Ability): Redmane charges forward and smashes through breakable walls and structures. Holding the tactical ability charges it into a mighty leap that hits even harder.
  • Enraged (Passive Ability): Redmane gains a temporary boost to movement speed and reload speed when he kills an enemy. This lets him snowball because the more kills he gets, the faster he becomes.
  • Beast’s Roar (Ultimate Ability): Redmane lets out a mighty roar that destroys nearby breakable structures and also damages enemies in its range.

Pounce (Tactical Ability)

This powerful ability allows Redmane to charge forward and break through certain breakable walls/structures. Make sure to hold the button to charge it before releasing. Holding it allows you to leap farther, allowing you to cover more ground and break terrain. You can pair it with Enraged to dominate the enemies by increasing your movement speed while charging forward. This surprises defenders and creates unexpected attack paths, making it easier to push towards the base.

Use Pounce to close gaps fast, flank enemies, or escape the fight when it becomes intense. Consider Pounce as your damage-dealing ability for terrain control and movement. Avoid using it just to reposition in fights unless you need the breach or escape. Use Pounce with other Wardens like Kai and Mara, allowing the breach to be followed by support fire.

Enraged (Tactical Ability)

This ability allows Redmane to gain a temporary buff for each elimination in combat. This makes him more lethal in close-range fights. It triggers automatically when Redmane gets a kill, so you don’t need to press any button to activate it. These bonuses let him keep up momentum and stay aggressive on a battlefield. The more kills you secure, the faster you become in a match.

The effect lasts for a short window after each kill, boosting mobility and aggression. The increased movement speed makes it easier to follow up weaker enemies. Faster reload means you have less downtime during the ability use and gunshots. Getting a kill and breaking structures can put pressure on defenders. I highly recommend using your speed buffs to enter, fight, and escape quickly.

Beast’s Roar (Ultimate Ability)

Redmane unleashes a powerful roar in a cone in front of him, allowing him to destroy breakable walls and other structures. This ability is useful for breaching defensive positions during the match. It also deals damage to any enemy players within the range when used. Use Beast’s Roar when to slow down enemies you and your team are near the objectives.

Make sure to engage or reposition after roaring through a wall or cover. Use it when you’re right at the point of entry to dominate the enemies. You need to allow the teammates to push right after the roar bursts through the walls. Combine Beast’s Roar with Pounce to leap right into the breach, making it easier to catch enemies quickly.

Best Weapons For Redmane

Vanguard, Kraken, and Big Rig are the best weapons to use while playing Redmane in Highguard. The assault rifle Vanguard is versatile and reliable at medium range with good accuracy and handling. Use this weapon when pushing after breaking walls in combat. Kraken is a close-range shotgun, so pair it with Redmane’s mobility to rush into tight rooms and punish enemies.

Big Rig comes with a larger magazine and has sustained firepower. This LMG is best suited for suppressing defenders after opening a route. Use Redmane’s abilities to break the walls and then follow up with a shotgun or SMG to secure kills. Each weapon has a unique recoil pattern, so make sure to learn them to stay accurate. You need to switch to Big Rig after breaching a wall with Pounce or Beast’s Roar.

Best Team Comp

Scarlet and Mara are the two best Wardens to pair with Redmane in Highguard. This team comp focuses on breaking defenses fast and keeping pressure up. Your character can open the walls with Pounce and Beat’s Roar, Scarlet can use to flank enemies, and Mara provides overshields. This is an aggressive push team comp that can secure the objective quickly if used correctly.

Save Mara’s Soul Armor for moments just before an engagement. I recommend using Scarlet’s mobility to distract defenders. Communicate with each other before pushing or engaging enemies to use the abilities effectively.

Atticus can also work with Redmane, as he can provide mid‑range pressure to avoid the enemies from making a group. Always aim to chain Beast’s Roar with area denial and have a support to prevent getting damage.

How To Play Redmane

Redmane is a destructive Warden who demolishes everything in front of him, but playing him effectively is crucial. Try to stay alive after kills because moving in an open area can lead you into trouble. Use your speed boosts to reposition after an engagement. Make sure to quickly rotate to go for the objective. Pair with Assault or control Wardens like Scarlet to punish the enemies for taking the cover or hiding behind the choke point.

You need to communicate when you’re about to breach so your team can follow up immediately. Don’t always use Pounce as a mobility tool; instead, use it for breaking walls or getting close to a target. Beast’s Roar also damages enemies, so use it when a group of enemies is nearby. Make sure to hold the button of Pounce to charge and perform a longer leap. Use Pounce to open multiple angles and Beast’s Roar to collapse walls.
