Scarlet Overview

Scarlet is a stealthy Assassin-style Warden who can flank enemies, disrupt the defended area, and attack from a different angle. She is one of the more powerful characters who can overwhelm enemies due to her unique abilities. Pairing Scarlet with the best weapon and Warden allows you to dominate enemies in combat.

Below are all the abilities of Scarlet in Highguard.

  • Shifting Sands (Passive Ability): Scarlet can turn a destructible wall into sand, temporarily making it passable. This allows her to phase through walls for surprising flanks.
  • Sandstorm (Tactical Ability): Scarlet turns on stealth mode and becomes hidden from enemies at long-range. This allows her to quickly reposition when the fight becomes intense.
  • Whirling Blades (Ultimate Ability): She throws six deadly daggers at enemies to deal massive damage or kill already-weakened enemies. Killing an opponent with a dagger resets her ability cooldowns.

Shifting Sands (Passive Ability)

Shifting Sands is a passive ability of Scarlet’s that allows her to change destructible walls into sand. Use this ability to make a brief passage that you can move through. Use Shifting Sands to pass through normal choke points and enter the enemy base to surprise them. This can let you appear right behind defenders and eliminate them.

Instead of wasting time walking around walls, phase through critical areas to overwhelm enemies. You can also use it to escape fights you are losing. First activate Sandstorm to obscure your movement, then use Shifting Sands to slip through walls. Make sure to sneak inside while your team pushes the front, and attack defenders.

Sandstorm (Tactical Ability)

Sandstorm is Scarlet’s Tactical Ability, and it allows her to enter stealth mode and hide from enemies. Enemies standing at long range can’t see you, so you can reposition and go for the objective. You can also use this ability to flank or approach enemies without getting noticed.

Use Sandstorm to move across open ground or past enemies without being seen. First, activate Sandstorm, then use Shifting Sands to pass through walls. This allows you to reach enemy backsides or objectives without getting caught.

If a fight is cooling down or enemies are out of sight, Sandstorm can be used to go for better angles. This makes it easier to catch enemies off-guard. Use Sandstorm to close the distance without alerting them, and then use your ultimate or your weapons for a surprise attack.

Whirling Blades (Ultimate Ability)

This ultimate ability of Scarlet’s is more powerful than the tactical and passive combined. Use this ability to shoot up to six deadly daggers in rapid succession at enemies to take them out, or at least, cause massive damage.

If a dagger kill occurs, Whirling Blades resets Scarlet’s ability cooldowns. Whirling Blades is best used for burst damage and eliminating enemies quickly to push.

Use this ability on low-health enemies to secure dagger kills, allowing you to reset cooldowns. This lets you chain more kills and stay in the fight for a longer time. You should also use Whirling Blades when your teammates are fighting with the enemies, which increases your chances of getting damage from multiple enemies.

Scarlet excels at flanking enemies, so use Whirling Blades to catch enemies off‑guard. One dagger elimination is enough to reset your cooldowns, even if you don’t get multiple kills. Pair your ultimate with Sandstorm or Shifting Sands to dominate enemies.

Best Weapons For Scarlet

Choosing the best weapon for Scarlet is essential to dominate enemies in combat and progress towards the objective. Kraken is the recommended weapon to use while playing Scarlet in Highguard. This is a close-range shotgun with massive burst damage. Kraken shines when you flank into buildings or tight spaces with Sandstorm or Shifting Sands.

Viper is also a good weapon to use due to its fast-firing rate and massive damage-dealing capability. Use this weapon to shred enemies when they get in range. You can also pick the Paladin to push fights due to its higher rate of fire and automatic feature.

Scarlet excels at stealthy flanks and burst killing, so choosing her weapons matters a lot. Aim for headshots at close range with weapons like Viper to quickly take down enemies. Swap your shotgun or assault rifle like Vanguard when the fight shifts from close to longer range.

Best Team Comp

Redmane and Mara are the best Wardens who work well with Scarlet in Highguard. Redmane has destructive and wall-breaching abilities that complement Scarlet’s playstyle. Mara can buff teammates and provide overshield to absorb the incoming damage from enemy attacks. This comp excels at fast, offensive plays and breaching enemy defenses.

Scarlet can quickly reposition via stealth and wall phasing while Redmane destroys the structures to open new passage, and Mara keeps you alive with shields. This is the best team comp if you want an aggressive raid in Highguard. Atticus can also team up with Scarlet to deal consistent damage and control the map. Make sure to work with your team’s breaches or pushes to disrupt enemy defenses.

How To Play Scarlet

Scarlet’s toolkit focuses on stealth, mobility, and burst elimination. She excels at surprising enemies and creating unexpected routes.

Use the Sandstorm to quietly cross open areas or approach enemy lines without getting noticed. Flanking around the map edge and repositioning after fights are the best cases to use this ability. Use Shifting Sands near objectives or during raids to bypass defenders. Target low‑health enemies with your ultimate to reset abilities and stay in the fight.

Watch for early enemy approaches and try to spot openings during the defense phase. Use Sandstorm to secure good weapons like Kraken or Viper, which allows your flank to hit harder in combat. Approach from unexpected routes when enemies are focusing on objectives. Use Shifting Sands to phase inside enemy bases when your allies are pushing.
