What are Wardens in Highguard

Wardens in Highguard are the characters you control in PvP raid modes. They combine guns, special abilities, and magic-like powers to contribute to team objectives. Each Warden has a unique set of abilities, like a Passive ability, a Tactical ability, and an Ultimate ability.

Wardens are divided into five main roles based on their playstyle and abilities. Highguard features eight Wardens at Lunch, and each fits their roles.

Below are all the warden types you can choose in Highguard.

  • Assault: Excel at putting pressure on enemy players and leading attacks. These wardens focus on offensive combat and damage output.
  • Defensive: Great at holding positions, creating a defensive frontline, and controlling space. Use them for protection and durability.
  • Recon: Provide vision, detect enemy movements, and help the team position correctly. Recons are well known for collecting the information.
  • Support: These wardens can heal or buff allies and help with resurrections. They focus on team utility and survivability rather than dealing damage.
  • Destruction: They excel at dealing with objectives and environmental damage. Effective at breaking walls, structures, or defensive setups.

All Wardens in Highguard

Below are all the wardens in Highguard, including their abilities and best tactics.

1) Redmane (Destruction)

Redmane in Highguard is a Destruction class warden who excels at tearing through enemy defenses and creating chaos. This character has more strength, mobility, and sheer force to break walls and push objectives.

Redmane’s kit is focused on aggressive disruption and structural destruction. Use Pounce and Beast’s Roar to breach enemy defenses quickly. Get kills in early fights to trigger your passive and boost mobility.

  • Enraged (Passive Ability): Redmane gains a temporary movement speed and reload speed buff after eliminating an enemy. The more eliminations he gets, the faster and more aggressive he becomes.
  • Pounce (Tactical Ability): He charges forward, smashing through breakable walls and obstacles. Hold the button to charge the leap for a greater distance. Using this ability is crucial to reposition and open new attack paths.
  • Beast’s Roar (Ultimate): Redmane lets out a powerful roar that destroys walls and other breakable structures in front of him. You can also use it to deal damage to enemies caught in the cone.

Charging a pounce gives distance and surprise to catch enemies quickly. Make sure to stay mobile because his passive makes him faster after kills, so you can chase or disengage quickly. The ultimate not only damages enemies but also destroys the structures. Redmane works best when paired with support or defensive Wardens like Mara, Kai, and Slade.

2) Condor (Recon)

Condor in Highguard is a Recon‑class Warden who specialize n scouting, enemy detection, and team intelligence. This character uses a trained bird to locate opponents and support her team with vision advantages. Condor is useful if you need information warfare rather than straight combat.

  • Hunter’s Instinct (Passive Ability): Condor’s bird gives her alerts when nearby enemies are close, allowing you to learn enemy movement. This passive is always active and boosts awareness for both offense and defense.
  • Eyes in the Sky (Tactical Ability): She sends out her bird to scan areas and detect moving enemies. Use this ability to unveil enemy positions briefly, giving your team a vision advantage.
  • Soaring Guardian (Ultimate): She launches three smoke clouds that move forward and reveal enemies within their wake. Use this ability for team pushes or proceeding towards the objective.

Opening a fight with Eyes in the Sky allows you to see enemy rotations. Your scans can also deny stealth approaches by revealing the enemy’s movement. Condor is generally squishier in direct fights than damage‑focused Wardens like Redmane.

Make sure to play around teammates, and use your abilities to support engagements. Her bird scans help predict enemy breaks before they even reach the base. You can pair the Condor with aggressive teammates like Assault or Destruction Wardens.

3) Atticus (Assault)

Atticus in Highguard is an Assault‑class Warden who has lightning and electrical power. This makes him a strong offensive character who can pressure enemies, control zones, and deal damage. Atticus shines when you lead aggressive pushes and apply area pressure in fights. Use his ultimate to break enemy setups and help teammates with massive damage.

  • Supercharged Axe (Passive Ability): His melee axe becomes charged with electricity. When charged, the axe releases an electrical explosion that can damage nearby resource nodes.
  • Shockspear (Tactical Ability): He throws a charged lightning spear that shocks nearby enemies after landing. The spear does impact damage, helping to apply pressure in fights with continuous shock effects.
  • Powerstorm (Ultimate): Atticus rises into the air and rains down multiple lightning spears, dealing heavy damage to players and structures. Using this ability also allows you to breach defenses.

Make sure to use Shockspear to control choke points or pressure enemies holding objectives. The ability’s shock damage is great for forcing enemies out of cover. It’s best to save Powerstorm for team clashes or when breaching enemy defensive positions. The passive’s charged axe explosion can help damage resource nodes or disrupt enemies fighting.

4) Kai (Defensive)

Kai is a Defensive Warden whose toolkit revolves around ice and fortification in Highguard. This character can protect teammates, control space, and defend objectives. Kai’s abilities allow him to create and restore defenses. Place ice walls in advance of enemy routes and use your wall to block lines of sight or create new barriers.

  • Frozen Repair (Passive Ability): He can repair broken walls by coating them in ice, reinforcing defenses. This passive makes him valuable for holding bases and slowing enemy pushes.
  • Ice Wall (Tactical): This ability allows the Kai to deploy a solid ice barrier to block enemy sightlines. Use the wall to defend choke points and protect teammates during tough encounters.
  • Frost Giant (Ultimate): He transforms into his inner ice demon. Kai becomes powerful, a large form with increased toughness and melee strength.

Ihighly recommend using Frozen Repair to reinforce or rebuild base walls or defenses after enemies damage them. This makes Kai particularly good at base defense and slowing enemy advances. Frost Giant should be used when your team needs a Durable frontliner.

The transformed state gives Kai greater survivability, making it easier to hold ground. Pair Kai with recon or support Wardens so he can hold areas while teammates contribute vision or healing.

5) Slade (Assault)

Slade is an Assault‑class warden in Highguard who can pressure enemies, control space, and create area denial with infernal damage. The character is a tough brawler with fire‑based abilities. Slade is a strong choice if you want to put pressure on enemies and dominate space. Use Heatwave to disrupt enemy advances, forcing them to get out of the cover.

  • Firebomb (Passive Ability): He explodes and spreads magma after triggering, creating hazardous ground. This allows him to deal damage to zones for enemies caught in it.
  • Heatwave (Tactical Ability): Slade sends out a cascading wave of molten fire forward. This ignites and damages enemies caught in its path. Use this ability for zoning enemies and clearing space.
  • Firestorm (Ultimate): He rains down fire onto a targeted area from above. This creates a danger zone that can punish enemy positioning and control objectives.

When you get a few kills, your cooldowns shorten and your damage increases. Doing so allows you to keep up offensive pressure. Make sure to use Firebomb explosively in crowded fights to split enemy movement. Firestorm is best used when enemies group around objectives or are forced into tight spots.

6) Scarlet (Assault)

Scarlet is an Assault-class Warden who has stealth, mobility, and deadly precision in Highguard. She can flank enemies, change positions fast, and eliminate enemies quickly. This aggressive assassin can sneak past enemies or reposition without drawing fire. Scarlet can enter through unexpected routes, especially when other teammates are busy elsewhere.

  • Shifting Sands (Passive Ability): She transforms a destructible wall into sand, making it temporarily passable for her. This allows her to bypass obstacles and surprise enemies by traversing through terrain. Use this ability to reposition rapidly.
  • Sandstorm (Tactical Ability): Scarlet turns on the Stealth mode, making her hidden from enemies at long distances. You can use this ability to escape danger or reposition through narrow areas.
  • Whirling Blades (Ultimate): She throws up to 6 deadly daggers that deal serious damage. Killing an enemy with a thrown dagger resets Scarlet’s ability cooldowns. Use this ability to keep up the pressure or continue killing enemies.

Use the Shifting Sands ability to pass through destructible walls that others might avoid. Take advantage of this to get behind enemy lines or create a near line of attack.

I recommend using the Whirling Blades in multi-target situations or to clean up fights. Once you start getting kills, Scarlet can become very dangerous due to cooldown resets.

7) Una (Defensive)

Una in Highguard is a Defensive-class Warden, and she can summon spirits to help in combat, disrupt enemies, and provide utility. She excels in utility, disruption, and defensive control, so use the Helping Hand to secure extra loot and resources early.

  • Helping Hand (Passive Ability): She gains extra resource drops or items during the Gear Up phase, making her strong in the early game.
  • Forest Wisps (Tactical Ability): Una summons spirits that float toward enemies and throw grenades at them. Use this ability to disrupt enemy movement and interrupt pushes, allowing you to give your teammates room while controlling space.
  • Tree Walker (Ultimate): She summons a large forest spirit that moves on the battlefield and throws smaller explosive spirits at enemies. This ability allows you to deal area damage, break enemy formations, and create opportunities for your team.

Forest Wisps can slow down or disorient enemy advances, so make sure to use them before fights to take the enemy’s health. Use Tree Walker while defending or attacking an objective to deal damage and apply pressure. Atticus or Slade are the best wardens to pair them with Una to dominate the enemies.

8) Mara (Support)

Mara is a support class warden in Highguard who can protect teammates, manage survivability, and provide strategic utility for her teammates. She uses shadow or soul magic to absorb the essence of the fallen. She can use it to strengthen her team’s defenses and positioning in combat.

  • Sacrifice (Passive Ability): Sacrifice downed enemy players to charge your tactical ability faster.
  • Soul Armor (Tactical Ability): Provide an overshield to an ally that absorbs incoming damage, increasing the survivability.
  • Immortal Coil (Ultimate): Creates a spawn point for your team, allowing your squad to re-enter the fight quickly after death.

Mara’s abilities are all about team enhancement rather than pure damage. Use the Soul Armor on teammates who are ready to engage enemies or holding the objective. Make sure to shield the frontliner from damage. When fights get more intense, use Sacrifice wisely to keep Soul Armor ready for when your team needs it most.

Deploy the Immortal Coil near objective zones, choke points, or defensive setups to let the teammates get into action quickly. Pair Mara with aggressive Wardens like Atticus or Scarlet because her shield helps them survive longer. Communicate with teammates when you’re about to use Soul Armor.
