What is Raid Mode

A Raid Mode in Highguard is the core PvP mode, where you fight other enemies and complete the objectives. The matches are team‑based PvP, usually 3v3, and revolve around a multi‑phase objective loop rather than simple kills.
Teams begin by fighting across the map to control a key objective called the Shieldbreaker. This is a mystical artifact and is essential to initiate the raid portion of the match. Once a team controls or carries the Shieldbreaker to the enemy’s base, the match shifts into a raid. Here, one team attacks and the other defends.

The attacking team must breach the enemy base’s defenses, such as walls and shields. You can destroy them by using the siege tools and the Shieldbreaker itself. They then plant bombs or sabotage generators inside the base to destroy it.
The defending team must protect these objectives and repel the attack. A team wins by destroying the enemy base via generator destruction or core objective. If time runs out without a completed raid, some modes go into Overtime or sudden death.
Raid Mode is a blend of open‑world looting and objective fighting. You fight in the open world to prepare and power up. Capture the Shieldbreaker and shift into structured siege warfare to break into and destroy the enemy base.
How Raid Mode Works

Each team selects a base to defend and starts by fortifying it and preparing for combat at the beginning of a Raid Mode match. You get inside the world to loot chests and resources to upgrade the gear. Acquire better weapons and raid tools or ride mounts to explore faster. A central objective in every Raid Mode match is the Shieldbreaker. You need to fight across the open field with the opponents to reach it.
Fight over control of the Shieldbreaker and carry it toward the opposing team’s base. Keep in mind that capturing and carrying the Shieldbreaker is similar to a capture-the-flag mechanic. Bringing the Shieldbreaker to the enemy base allows you to trigger a full raid phase. Enemy base shields get knocked off, and a Siege Tower spawns to help breach defenses. Both teams enter a base assault or defense situation.

You must use weapons, raid tools, and abilities to destroy base walls, generators, or the Anchor Stone. Plant bombs at the generators and push into the base while defenders resist. Destroying generators deals damage to the enemy base’s health. However, destroying the Anchor Stone allows the team to win the match.
Make sure to guard your base as a defender and repel attackers. Defuse planted bombs and protect the base until time runs out or attackers fail. The raid ends if both the team doesn’t destroy the enemy base in a raid. The shield will regenerate, and a new Shieldbreaker spawns elsewhere.
The battle restarts, but this time with better loot and upgrades. Matches can loop through multiple raid triggers. Victory in Raid Mode is all about strategic play, teamwork, and completing objectives. 30 HP from the enemy’s total is required to begin the raid after acquiring the Shieldbreaker.
Tips To Secure the Shieldbreaker

Below are the best tips and tricks to secure the Shieldbreaker in Highguard.
- Send a teammate to scout the location and enemy movements before rushing towards the Shieldbreaker.
- Controlling the area around the spawn makes it far easier to secure the objective.
- Don’t just run straight to the Shieldbreaker unprepared, but loot nearby chests and gather better weapons and armor.
- Crossfire positions and cover multiple approaches to the spawn point, allowing you to control angles and prevent enemy flanks.
- Two players must push to secure the Shieldbreaker and other cover flanks and eliminate enemies.
- Plan escape routes and fallback areas after picking up the Shieldbreaker.
- Make sure to have a planned path to continue the push if you get knocked out.
- Choose the warden that has mobility or recon strengths, helping you to reposition quickly around the objective.
- Don’t make a group around the carrier after your team claims the Shieldbreaker, making the entire team an easy target.
- It’s best to focus on pressure and timing when failing to secure the Shieldbreaker immediately.
How To Sabotage Generators Effectively

Generators in Highguard power defensive systems inside the enemy base. Destroying them allows you to deal significant damage to the base. You can deal 35 damage per generator by destroying it. Sabotaging generators isn’t a solo task, so I recommend doing it with teammates. A coordinated push guards the saboteurs, making it easier to split defender attention. Make sure not to focus on a single generator.

You need to push a second or third generator at the same time when the defenders attack on one target. This allows the attackers to spread out the defenders, making it easier to sabotage successfully. Clear obstacles like walls or shields before planting a bomb on the generator. Wardens with destruction tools and area damage abilities can make it easier to reach generators.

Defenders have a short window to defuse it when you plant a bomb on a generator. Plant bombs in quick succession or stagger them so defenders can’t defuse them in given times. Generator sabotage works best when support Wardens, healing teammates, and keeping enemy defenders knocked down.
Make sure to use Recon tools to track defender movements and attack when key defenders are out of position. You must strike generators when the defenders are rotating away to reposition. Splitting attention between generators and the Anchor Stone is more effective for the attackers in a raid.
Best Warden Classes For Raid Mode

Wardens in Highguard are divided into five core class roles. Each one of them excels in different parts of Raid Mode. Make sure to have a balanced team to improve your chances of winning. Assault is the best class to choose for the raid to create pressure on defenders. They are strong in early Shieldbreaker fights and flanks in combat. Make sure to coordinate with the Support and Recon class to maximize the impact.
Defensive is another best class to choose because they reduce the enemy aggression around base defenses. These Wardens can create space for teammates by controlling choke points. Recon is the third-best class because it can reveal the enemies’ positions and track their rotations. You can also go for the Support class to keep teammates alive longer and provide them with buffs.
Scarlet is the best Warden to choose because her Tactical ability, Sandstorm, lets her enter stealth, making it easier to disrupt defensive positions. Her passive Shifting Sands can temporarily turn certain walls into sand, opening alternative paths.

Kai is also the best Warden for the Raid mode because his Frost Giant transformation gives durability and frontline staying power. His abilities revolve around ice walls and holding positions, allowing you to create barriers and repair walls.
You can also choose the Redmane for Raid Mode in Highguard due to his strong abilities to dominate the enemies. Use the Pounce to smash through breakable walls and reposition aggressively. Beast’s Roar tears down walls and deals area damage, making him a strong choice for pushing objectives. His passive grants a movement and reload speed buff after kills, allowing him to maintain pressure.
Make sure to include at least one Recon for clear intel and rotation control. I highly recommend bringing a Destruction Warden to break walls easily and speed up sabotage. Recon Wardens pairing with a Ranger can secure long‑range picks, while Destruction Wardens helps opening the team.
Best Weapons For Raid Mode

Choosing the best weapons for the Raid Mode in Highguard is crucial to deal damage to the enemies. Dynasty is a balanced mid‑to‑long‑range weapon with good damage and stability. The Ranger Sniper Rifle has high damage output at long range, perfect for securing picks. Corsair has high DPS in close quarters, making it great for pushing into enemy positions or clearing defenders.
Saber is a burst-fire rifle with serious damage, especially effective when precision shots matter in a fight. Bring a Rocket Launcher or Blast Hammer when your team plans to breach the defenses. Big Rig can help you break walls and iron defenses during raids. Use the weapons that suit your playstyle and synergize with your character.
