Hollow Knight: Silksong Boss Guide – Fourth Chorus

Fourth Chorus is, as the name suggests, the fourth boss that you’ll encounter in the game. Fighting against Fourth Chorus can be extremely challenging, but if you’ve made it this far into the game, you’re more than capable of turning the tide of battle against this boss. However, if you need help with anything else, you should check out our main hub for more walkthroughs and guides.

Where To Find Fourth Chorus

You might’ve seen Fourth Chorus in the scenery before exploring the Far Fields. However, once you’ve acquired the Drifter’s Cloak from the Seamstress, you’ll be able to fight against this boss.

After completing the Flexile Spine Hunt, head out from the Seamstress’s house and head left. You don’t have to ride the air current all the way up; just head to the exit on the left, and you’ll end up in a section with greenery and two air currents. Keep heading left and jump over the ledges floating on the magma until you reach a bigger platform with the Fourth Chorus stuck inside a rock in the scenery.

As you reach the platform, Fourth Chorus will break free, and you’ll have to fight against it.

Fourth Chorus Moveset

The only way to deal damage to Fourth Chorus is by attacking its head. You’ll have to jump around a lot, and the lack of a place to stand is going to prove challenging. However, your newly acquired Drifter’s Cloak will be of tremendous help in this boss battle.

Horizontal Swipe

One of Fourth Chorus’s lower arms will flash, and that is the cue for this attack. The arm will swipe over from one edge of the platform to the other. You’ll have to jump over its arm to avoid this attack. You can also use the Drifter’s Cloak to make Hornet stay in the air for more time to successfully avoid this attack.

Vertical Swipe

One of the boss’s upper arms will flash, and it will bring the arm down, destroying a portion of the platform. Perform a Swift Step to get out of the arm’s way to avoid this attack. Be wary of the destroyed platform. The destroyed platform will reappear after a short while. Knocking out Fourth Chorus will also restore all destroyed platforms. As the boss battle progresses, Fourth Chorus will start using this attack more often.

Magma Dance

Fourth Chorus will start dancing, and magma rocks will start to fall from the ceiling. These rocks will keep falling for a short while even after the boss has stopped dancing. You can use Swift Step to avoid these falling rocks.

Fourth Chorus Strategy

Fighting Fourth Chorus is all about positioning. You have to watch out for the broken portions of the platform, and also avoid the falling magma rocks while the boss is dancing. Note that falling into the magma isn’t the end; it will only consume two of Hornet’s health points, and she’ll reappear in the center of what remains of the platform.

Once you’ve knocked out Fourth Chorus three times, the edges of the platform will be destroyed, and air currents will start to rise from there.

Now, you can keep attacking the head repeatedly until the boss is defeated, or you can ride above the air currents and attack the explosive magma rocks on each side of the platform. Doing so will make the giant rock in the center fall on Fourth Chorus’s head, defeating the boss and ending the battle immediately.

Rewards For Defeating Fourth Chorus

Defeating Fourth Chorus doesn’t grant you any reward. However, you’re free to move forward and progress to the next area, Greymoor, where you’ll encounter a lot of birds.

This concludes our guide on defeating Fourth Chorus in Hollow Knight: Silksong. If you’re having trouble against any other boss or area, you should check out our main hub.
