How To Start The Flexile Spines Hunt
In order to start this hunt, you’ll have to find the Seamstress in the Far Fields area. The Seamstress is inside her house, which is hard to miss as it’s one large home in the middle of nothing. Though you’ll have to find a way to get inside her home because her hut is quite high up in the air.

As you enter the Seamstress’s house, you’ll find a resting point right as you enter the gate. If you talk to the Seamstress, she’ll ask you to collect 25 Spine Cores, which can be obtained by defeating Hokers. As of now, you might not know what enemy she’s referring to.
The Seamstress does give you a hint that you’ll find these creatures floating in the air, and that you’ll find plenty of them ahead. There’s only one new type of enemy that starts appearing from the next section, and they aren’t too hard to spot.

How To Collect The Spine Cores
Simply defeating the Hokers won’t grant you any Spine Cores. However, what you should be doing here is to let them attack. These floating balls have needles popping out of them. If you attack them, they’ll shoot these needles in the direction they’re facing out of their bodies.

You have to make the Hokers shoot these needles. Once you’ve done so, these needles will stick to whichever surface they come in contact with. After that, you’ll have to strike these needles, and that will grant you the Spine Core that you need.
Since you need 25 of these, and each needle only grants one Spine Core, you’ll have to defeat plenty of Hokers to gather them. However, if you can make them shoot as many needles out as possible, you won’t have to defeat as many.
After you’ve collected 25 Spine Cores, you can return to the Seamstress, and she’ll give you the Drifter’s Cloak. This action will also mark the completion of the Flexile Spines Hunt.

How To Use The Drifter’s Cloak
The Drifter’s Cloak is an upgrade that allows Hornet to float in mid-air, letting her glide much farther distances before falling to the ground. Furthermore, this cloak also serves one additional purpose.

If you float into any air current, it will allow Hornet to fly alongside it. This will make reaching new places much easier and also allow you to access the next area.
The Drifter’s Cloak can also be used to avoid attacks from certain enemies and bosses. It allows you to stay in the air for much longer, making it easier for you to avoid attacks on the ground.

The Drifter’s Cloak is a fine addition to Hornet’s abilities in Hollow Knight: Silksong. If you need help with acquiring more of her abilities, you can head to our main hub for more guides and walkthroughs.
