Crafting in Hytale lets you combine raw materials and items to create new tools, weapons, armor, consumables, and structures. The game uses a bench-based crafting system rather than a single crafting menu. You start with a basic Workbench, which lets you craft simple items.
As you progress, you unlock specialized benches like Armorer’s Workbench, Blacksmith’s Anvil, Alchemist’s Workbench, Arcanist’s Workbench, Farmer’s Workbench, Salvager’s Workbench, Chef’s Stove, and Tanning Rack for advanced crafting.
Everything you craft requires resources like sticks, rubble, ores, leather, and essences. Higher-tier benches unlock stronger items. Place a bench in your base, interact with it, select a recipe, and provide the required materials.

What is Pocket Crafting
Pocket Crafting in Hytale is a crafting system that allows you to craft items directly in your inventory without needing to place a crafting table or workbench. The items you can craft are basic, meaning they are limited. Press the Open your inventory at any time by pressing the designated button, and see a crafting grid in your inventory interface.
Pocket Crafting usually supports small recipes. Place the required materials into the grid, and if the recipe matches, the crafted item appears. Once crafted, drag it into your inventory. The item you craft by pocket crafting can’t be crafted at any other crafting bench. Crude Hatchet, Crude Pickaxe, and Crude Sword are the common items you craft using the Pocket Crafting.
Use these tools to break the trees, mine cobblestone, and attack the enemies to deal damage. You can also craft the workbench using the required materials from Pocket crafting. Once done with that, place it at a suitable location to craft advanced tools and items. Below is a list of all the items you can craft at Pocket Crafting, along with the required materials.

How To Craft Workbench
You can craft the workbench from the Pocket Crafting using the required materials. Use 3xStick and 2xRubble to craft this crafting bench. The sticks can easily be obtained while exploring the map early on. Punching the trees also grants you a good amount of sticks. Once you have the required materials, press the TAB button and select the workbench from the crafting menu.
Make sure you have the required materials in your inventory before crafting. Click on ‘Craft’ to get access to your first crafting bench in Hytale. You can use the materials to upgrade the workbench to the next tier to craft more advanced recipes.
Once you craft it, place it at the suitable location. Use 30x Copper Ingots, 20x Iron Ingots, and 20x Linen Scraps to upgrade the workbench to tier 2.
It’s best to place the workbench inside the base to use it whenever you want. Below are all the recipes you can craft using the required materials.

All Crafting Benches in Hytale
The crafting section in the workbench allows you to craft specific crafting benches. These are basically used to craft advanced recipes. Furnace, Armorer’s Workbench, Blacksmith’s Anvil, Tanning Rack, Farmer’s Workbench, and Chef’s Stove are some common crafting stations you can craft. More materials are required to craft them.
Crafting benches are special blocks you place in the world that let you craft, process, or refine items. They include simple work tables for basic materials and specialized stations for advanced gear, potions, armor, and magic items. You place the bench in your base and interact with it to open its crafting interface.

| Blacksmith’s Anvil | A bench block you craft and place in your base. When you interact with it, it opens a menu where you can craft weapons using the materials. | Chef’s Stove | A craftable block you place in your base or kitchen area that lets you cook advanced dishes using multiple ingredients. | Salvager’s Workbench | Lets you break down unwanted crafted items to reclaim materials. Dismantles existing gear and crafted items and returns some of the raw materials that went into them. This is useful for freeing up inventory space, reclaiming materials from gear you’ve outgrown. You can use it to correct mistakes without wasting resources. Unlike a Furnace, it doesn’t require fuel. Put the salvageable item into the bench and get its component parts back. Interact with it to open its interface. Put an item you want to recycle into the input slot. | Alchemist’s Workbench | Brews potions, healing items, buffs, and bombs. Creates throwable or combat items, such as bombs that deal area damage. Make sure to upgrade your main Workbench to Tier 2 before the recipe for the Alchemist’s Workbench appears. Craft the Alchemist’s Workbench at that Tier 2 Workbench using materials.
