Weapons in Hytale fall into several different categories, and each one comes with its own playstyle. The objective is to obtain the best weapons while exploring the world. You can either craft them at the crafting bench or loot them from the chests or structures.
Thorium Daggers are obtained from the Outlander Outpost in the northern area of the map. Swords are one-handed melee weapons and crafted at the Blacksmith’s Anvil with ores, leather, and fibers.
Maces, on the other hand, are heavy melee weapons that deal massive damage, but have slow swings. Daggers are the best weapon to choose in Hytale because they have quick attacks and high mobility. Bows are early ranged weapons, and you shoot arrows from a distance.
Staves are crafted at Arcanist’s Workbench and allow spell-based attacks or support abilities. Shield can be paired with a one-handed sword to block the enemy attack.

How To Get Weapons in Hytale
Most weapons in Hytale are crafted from materials you collect by mining, hunting, and exploring. You unlock more weapon recipes by upgrading your Blacksmith’s Anvil and other crafting benches. Blacksmith’s Anvil, Arcanist’s Workbench, and Armorer’s Workbench are used to craft different weapon types.
Use Blacksmith’s Anvil to craft swords, maces, axes, and daggers, and Arcanist’s Workbench for magical staffs.
You can craft the shields and defensive items from the Armorer’s Workbench. To upgrade these crafting benches, you need rarer resources like Iron, Thorium, Cobalt, Adamantite, and Mithril. Weapons can also be found as loot in chests while exploring ruins and structures across the world, so make sure to check them too.

How To Repair Weapons in Hytale
Hytale doesn’t let you fix weapons directly at a workbench or an anvil. You need to craft and use a Repair Kit to restore any damaged weapon, armor, and tools. Interact with the workbench tier 1 to craft the repair kit using 2xLinen Scraps, 1xLight Leather, and 1xIron Ingot. Just open the Workbench menu and look for the repair tab.
Linen Scrapes are obtained by defeating the skeleton and goblin enemies. Kill the smaller animals like rabbits to acquire the Light Hite. Turn the Light Hide into the Light Leather at Tanning Rack. Get the Iron Ore by mining the cave using the pickaxe. Once you obtain the Iron Ore, Interact with the Furnace add it to the Input Slot to initiate the smelting process.
Equip the Repair Kit in your hotbar and press the RMB to open the repair menu. You need to choose the weapon you wish to repair. It’s worth mentioning that the repair kit is consumed, and the durability of the item is restored. Each time you repair an item with a Repair Kit, its maximum durability decreases up to 10%, so don’t over-repair the weapon.
How To Upgrade Weapons
To make stronger weapons, you don’t apply an upgrade to an existing weapon directly. Upgrade the Blacksmith’s Anvil to craft higher-tier weapons in Hytale. Higher anvil levels unlock stronger weapons with higher damage and durability. Each tier requires more materials to progress, but unlocking higher tiers lets you craft better weapons. Below are the required materials to upgrade the Blacksmith’s Anvil.
