Kotama and Academy Citadel: Spatial Cruiser Moveset

EDI and Eliane make a terrifying duo together. Since the boss comprises a huge number of attacks, it’s always better to understand before taking on the fight. Here is every Spatial Cruiser attack and how to dodge them:
| Attack Name | Effect | How to Counter |
| Electric Orbs (EDI) | The Spatial Cruiser teleports to either side of the arena and shoots Electric Orbs. It repeats the attack from both directions. | The distance between these orbs varies that makes it borderline impossible to jump above them. Parry the incoming orbs from each direction and wait for the Spatial Cruiser to stop after the second wave. |
| Delayed Missile Barrage (EDI) | Staying afloat in the middle, the Cruiser releases a barrage of missiles that explode after a slight delay. | Wait for the Cruiser to release all missiles. Destroy them once they’re placed and keep an eye on their timer, indicated by a closing circle in the middle. |
| Delayed Slashes (Eliane) | The Spatial Cruiser charges up and flies away. Intersecting red warning lines appear on the screen, indicating the boss’s attack paths | Once you see the red lines on the screen, step away and avoid them until the Cruiser completes its course. Still, wait for the boss to complete their final slash. |
| Canon Shots (EDI) | The boss rises to an unreachable height and shoots down Kotama with their canon three times. | When the boss is out of your reach, watch for the laser guiding the canons. If it locks onto you, dash either forward or backwards. |
| Three-Hit-Combo (Eliane) | Readying up its sword, the Spatial Cruiser disappears and reappears to attack Kotama. | The first attack is a slash that can be parried easily. However, it’s followed by a smash from the top, which should only be dodged. Lastly, the third attack is unparryable. To avoid it, wait for the Cruiser to perform the third attack by standing in a corner, and jump over the incoming waves. |
| Sword Throw (Eliane) | The boss throws its sword from one side to another, catching and performing a slash in each direction. | Similar to a boomerang, the sword covers the upper area of the arena first and returns from the lower area. Time your parry to avoid any damage. |
| Swipe Rush (Eliane) | While flying, the Spatial Cruiser moves to a corner and prepares for a U-shaped Swipe attack that covers both ends of the arena. It follows up with an invisible swipe. | Stand below the boss to avoid being hit by the swipe. Additionally, parry the attack to stun the boss for a massive attack window. |
| Ground Rush (Eliane) | Same as Swipe Rush. But this variant covers the entire ground. | Parry the Ground Rush attack as it’s impossible to jump over it. |
Second Phase Moveset

In the second phase, EDI and Elaine separate and coordinate their attacks.
| Attack Name | Effect | How to Counter |
| Lasers and Delayed Slashes | EDI separates itself from Elaine and flies above to shoot lasers. A warning screen and two platforms appear, which you can use to avoid the lasers. Meanwhile, Elaine executes her Delayed Slashes attack. | Hide under the platforms and avoid stepping into the intersecting lines. Use your Whip Hammer from under the platform to hit Elaine while she charges up her slashes. |
How to Beat The Spatial Cruiser in Kotama and Academy Citadel
As soon as you step into the arena, the Spatial Cruiser will prepare a three-hit combo. Parry the first two attacks, and step away to dodge the third one. When the attack window opens, get two or three hits in before it disappears again.

The next move depends on the boss’s RNG and could be anything. If you manage to parry Ground Rush, the Spatial Cruiser remains staggered for a few seconds, which allows you to sneak in further attacks.
Keep in mind that it stays afloat and as far away from Kotama as possible. In this case, use Whip Hammer to attack it from a distance.

During the Delayed Slashes, stand in one of the safe areas near the Cruiser to get a few hits. The rest of the first phase is simple: dodge, parry, and time your attacks to be the victor.
Despite having a regular death screen after defeating its first phase, the Spatial Cruiser doesn’t really accept defeat. Rush to your right to avoid incoming lasers and enter the second arena.

This time, EDI will separate itself from Eliane to execute attacks individually and in synchronization. You can use the table above to differentiate between EDI and Eliane moves that will be done in sync.
Once the second phase begins, hide under the platforms to avoid EDI’s lasers. Equip the Whip Hammer and attack Eliane from under the platform while she charges up her Delayed Slashes.

The second phase can be overwhelmingly difficult, and the key to winning this battle is parrying. Additionally, attacks can be parried except Elaine’s slashes, EDI’s lasers, and the concluding attack of the three-hit combo.

Spatial Cruiser Rewards
After defeating the Spatial Cruiser, Eliane will provide you with her Keepsake, which you can deliver to the Central Station to progress the story.
