With how defensive and offensive The Decomposer is, studying its moveset will give you a much-required leverage for victory.

Normal Attacks

Attack NameEffectHow to Counter
Crab SmashThe Decomposer jumps high and drops down, sending ground waves to each side.As The Decomposer jumps, run away from the middle to the corners. Wait for it to come down, and jump over the ground waves to avoid all damage. Instead of jumping, you can also use the Traction Rings in the arena.
Spitting FireThe Decomposer spits fire from its mouth, covering the middle area of the arena. You can either parry the fire or use the Traction Rings to get away. The fire stays on the ground for a few seconds.

Claw Attacks

Attack NameEffectHow to Counter
Cross PinchesThe Decomposer’s arms produce a spark before crossing both arms in the arena’s middle to catch Kotama. The key to avoid Cross Pinches is to stay away from the middle area. Once you see the sparks on both arms, jump away if you’re far from the Traction Rings.
Arm SmashThe boss raises one of its arms and smashes it on the ground, executing a devastating attack. Its direction depends on your location; far left means The Decomposer will raise its left armDon’t risk your health by moving in the opposite direction. Simply, run into the corner and get ready to parry the incoming Arm Smash.
Claw SwipeReadying its arm, The Decomposer executes a swipe attack with one of the claws. It depends on the direction of Kotama.Your cue to parry the Claw Swipe is a silver sparkle on the claw’s top. Parrying is your only option as the attack covers a huge area and leaves no space for dodging.
Claw DragSimilar to the Claw Swipe, the boss buries one of its claws into the ground and drags it across the arena to Kotama’s location.Jumping isn’t an option. As the claw approaches, use the Traction Ring in either direction to successfully avoid it.

Second Phase

Fiery ComboOnce the boss’s health falls below 50 percent, a warning sign will appear as it executes a full-combo attack. Keep Kotama in the air by double jumping and using the Traction Rings on both sides. While the boss executes its combo, be cautious of the fireballs dropping from the sky.
