In Master Healer Kale with Useless Party, as the name suggests, you play Kale the master healer, who has to keep his party alive while they are on a journey to defeat the notorious Demon King who’s terrorizing the entire Kingdom.

The Party
Master Healer Kale With Useless Party is an auto-battler RPG where the player has no control over the party members. First, we are introduced to our party members with different responsibilities in the battles throughout the Kingdom:
- Madeleine – The Mage
- Klepon – The Archer
- Grandpa Bagel – The Tank
- Master Kale – The Healer (You)
During battles, Madeleine throws fireballs at the enemies, and Klepon uses his bow and arrows. Grandpa Bagel is different—he’s a tank who sleeps during the battle to tank damage from the enemies, giving time for the rest of the party to counterattack.
Most of the time, you will have to keep an eye on Grandpa Bagel and provide him with heals to make sure he doesn’t die. The rest of the party is extremely fragile and will die almost immediately as you progress through the game.
Fighting and Healing
As stated previously, you don’t have to fight enemies since you can’t command your party members. All you can do is wait for them to attack and keep an eye on the rest.
If a party member’s health is low, use the healing spell on them. There are stronger variants that unlock later in the game. Your important line of defense is Grandpa Bagel, and if he dies first, then all the other party members will suffer great damage even from normal attacks.
From the third level of the game, the newly introduced enemies will attack the other party members randomly. Therefore, it’s crucial to keep an eye on them and Grandpa Bagel as well. Remember that if everyone else dies, they won’t be able to defeat the monsters, as Grandpa Bagel is always asleep.
As you progress through the game, you will receive fighting spells that also consume mana when used. These spells can attack enemies and allow you to assist your party members in defeating them.
Coming Back Stronger
While the game doesn’t have any roguelike elements, it does take clear inspiration from them. Since it’s impossible to complete a level the first time, you will return to the Tavern with the currency you have collected from the defeated monsters.
With the currency, you can buy upgrades from the massive Skill Tree with over 200 abilities. If you die, you will always receive rewards for the enemies defeated, and then use them to buy new and upgrade already-purchased abilities.
