Misery is one of the most promising titles in the gaming industry. The most surprising thing is that the developer is a single person who managed to create such a cool game. Its demo received high praise from the fandom. Even after the full release, everyone is still singing its praises, which makes total sense.
Misery is a 1–5 player co-op survival game set in a nuclear disaster zone, similar to Stalker. In this game, you need to survive the day before the emission happens, which can be quite challenging. There are plenty of anomalies in the game that can harm you, but not all of them are dangerous. You may have seen the giant black orbs in Misery and wondered if they are harmful. In this guide, I will explain what they do and how many types of black giant orbs there are.

What Do The Black Giant Orbs Do in Misery?

Misery is a game similar to Stalker, so there are quite a few similarities between the two. The giant orbs you see after exiting the bunker and starting the expedition are harmful. You may notice a lot of them scattered around the area, so you might think it is not worth getting close to them. However, that is where you are wrong.
The giant orbs that are expanding and contracting are harmful, yes, but most of the time, they are protecting something. If you interact with a black orb that is expanding and contracting, it will result in instant death. So, you have to avoid getting hit by them at all costs. They disappear and reappear in almost the same spot, so keep an eye on them. However, you will usually see a stationary giant orb between them.

That is the one you need to approach, as it will teleport you to a different location. For me, every time I was teleported, it was inside a house-like building with no traditional way out. The place usually had a lot of loot like medkits, bandages, cigarettes, beer, and other equipment in places like wardrobes.

You can exit the place by approaching the giant orb inside the house. Upon approaching it, you are likely to be teleported to another location. After getting some loot from there, you can approach the orb again, and you will be teleported to yet another location, which is most likely the last one.
Is The Black Giant Stationery Orb Harmful?

While the giant orb that is stationary in one place does teleport you to different locations with plenty of loot, it is also harmful. Upon interacting with it, you will lose a chunk of health, so even if you find healing items, you will have to use them. However, I think it is worth interacting with these orbs since you can get much more than just healing items.
You may even find items that help you increase your inventory space, so if you see one, make sure to interact with it. However, you need to be very careful because, as mentioned above, other orbs that can one-shot you will be popping around it. So, make sure your timing is right. That is pretty much everything you need to know about the giant black orbs in Misery.
