Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault – Tyke Security Chief Boss Fight Guide

Join us at Into Indie Games for another boss guide in Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault.

The Gallery journey isn’t over yet. After taking down The Curator, you’ll need to push through the Treasury Halls, where another boss is waiting.

This time, we’ll be facing Tyke, the Security Chief, as we continue our way through the Gallery.

Note
This is part of our Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault – Guides And Walkthrough Hub, so be sure to check out the hub for more guides and walkthroughs.

Preparations

By now, you should already know how to prepare for boss fights: get upgrades from Eris, then upgrade your weapon and Patches (Julius).

You should also aim to get increased damage perks and at least one status effect from the Perk rooms before reaching the boss. Other than that, let’s go.

Phase 1

Tyke has a jetpack and will be flying around the arena for the most part, which means your gun will be your best friend here.

At the start of the fight, he will summon two enemies. Before you defeat them, make sure you use your gun to damage Tyke first, and then defeat the enemies, as this should charge your gun ammo.

While he is flying, he will spawn two portals that shoot laser beams in a straight line. You will get a red outline just before they hit, so you will know where they will land and can easily avoid them.

Alongside these lasers, the boss will fly around the arena, moving up and down while leaving explosions behind.

This attack is well telegraphed, so it should be easy to predict where the boss will go and dodge accordingly.

In addition to that, he will spawn nine circles on the ground that emit lasers. As soon as you see the circles, get out of the way. He will do this attack multiple times, so stay sharp.

Eventually, during this phase, Tyke will shield himself and throw a big purple orb at you.

You need to attack this orb so it can deflect back to him, break his shield, and stun him. This is your chance to use your melee attacks.

Phase 2

After this, Tyke will change the layout of the arena, and now you will have four squares that you can safely step on. The only way to move from one square to another is by dodging.

Tyke will be at the top with his shield on and throw purple orbs at you. You still need to deflect the orb back at him by attacking it. However, Tyke will deflect it back. It will mark which square it will land on.

Will needs to quickly go to the landing square and deflect it again to break the shield and stun him. You will get another great opening to land your melee attacks.

From this point, the attacks gain new abilities. For example, the portal that shoots lasers will now move from the other side and track you, so you need to dodge through them.

Another attack is when Tyke flies in lines and leaves shockwaves behind. He will also throw grenades whose landing will be marked on the ground. Upon impact, they will send another shockwave around the arena.

Keep dodging and avoiding attacks, and use your gun to damage him until he throws the purple orb again. Deflect it to stun him and then melee attack him.

This time, when he recovers from the attack, he will send out a barrage of pink projectiles that can be a bit difficult to avoid.

Slowly move through the gaps between the projectiles to safely make your way through the attack and avoid taking damage.

Phase 3

One more time, Kyle will change the layout of the arena. This time, it will be only one square, and he will do the portal laser beam attack. Yes, you can dodge this, but be careful, as you can fall out and take damage.

After he does this attack once, you will have a nine-square arena, and he will shoot purple orbs at you. The same as usual, deflect the orb back at him, but this time, it will not stun him quickly.

You will need to repeat it twice, but the second time, he will reduce the number of squares where the orb will land, and you need to quickly make your way there.

Once he gets stunned, attack him as much as you can, and from here, the fight remains the same as the previous phases.

The Reward

After successfully defeating Tyke, you will get two chests containing high-quality relics, alongside a new crafting material called Broken Rocket.

And with that, we wrap up another guide for Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault. Thanks for checking it out!
