Nioh 3 – Desecrated Hot Spring Quest Walkthrough

With the introduction of the open areas in Nioh 3, there is a lot for you to discover from enemy bases and items and boss fights and so on.

But also you will encounter multiple side quests that you can complete to gain rewards and exploration points. Among the side quests available in the Warring States is the Desecrated Hot Spring and this guide will go over how to complete it.

How To Start The Desecrated Hot Spring Quest

In order to start the Desecrated Hot Spring quest, you need to make your way to the very south into the Tokaido area toward the Shrine there. As you approach this location you will see a cave entrance and there will be a ghost standing nearby.

Approach the ghost and speak to him. You will learn that there is a secret hot spring inside the cave and it has been taken by the enemy.

Find The Desecrated Hot Spring

Enter the cave ahead of you and progress forward. As you reach the exit, there will be a small hole to the right side, crouch there and open the chest.

Now exit the cave and you will see that the hot spring is filled with Yokai. Your task here is to defeat all six Yokai around the spring in order to free it.

At the start of the spring, you will find some stairs to your right, go up there and you should find a couple of Yokai enemies. Defeat them.

Next, take the stairs down and you will be ambushed by more smaller Yokai enemies, deal with them quickly. Keep making your way down and then turn left until you reach the hot spring itself.

Here, you will find the last Yokai enemy you need to defeat. Doing so will free the hot spring and it will be available for you to use.

This enemy is a bit tougher than the regular ones and you need to be careful when dealing with it. Since you cannot use a sneak attack on it, use any type of ranged attack to land a few hits and then be prepared to fight.

Complete The Desecrated Hot Spring Quest

The man will be happy that you freed it but unfortunately he will not be able to enjoy it yourself.

Because of this, the man asks you to use it on his behalf and soak yourself in the hot spring. Just approach the water and interact with it.

This will complete the Desecrated Hot Spring quest and you will receive one Samurai’s Locks and some Yokai Teardrop.
