How to Get a Cooking Pot

You need a cooking pot, an ingredient like beans, canned food, or foraged items, and a heat source to cook in Prologue Go Wayback. To get your first Cooking Pot, you will find it in the Cabin where the game starts. As you progress to go to the Weather Tower, use your map to go to the black marks to go to the cabins. Some cabins would need electricity, and you can find cooking pots there to cook food.
Place the food and water in the pot, put the pot on the heat, and then hold the E key to open the menu to start cooking. The food will cook, increasing its calorie count while decreasing its water content. You can stop cooking at any point, but cooking for longer provides more calories.
How To Cook

The first ever step to cook in Prologue Go Wayback is to locate food items and a cooking pot, and keep the pot in your hotbar for easy access. Open your inventory and place food items and some water into the cooking pot. Keep checking the pot’s limited space. Use your fire starter or other fuel to light a stove or fireplace.
You will need a heat source to cook. Make sure to move the pot containing the ingredients onto the lit stove burner. Hold the ‘E’ key to open the cooking menu. Now, let the food cook. The calories will increase, and the water content will decrease.

Cook canned goods to around 800 calories for the best results. Cooking too long will decrease the calorie count, so make sure to remove the food when it reaches its peak.
Cooking Mechanics
Simply drag the food into the cooking pot. You will notice the water content falls, but the calories increase. Once the calories stop increasing, simply remove the food from the pot. This allows you to extract the minimum amount of calories from each food item. The longer you cook things, the more calories they will provide, and the smaller they will be in your inventory.

If you need water, don’t do this and just use the item without cooking it. Monitor the water content and cook most of it off, indicating that you’ve killed off anything that could poison you. You can tell when it’s done when the calories stop increasing.
Check if something is cooked by pressing ‘Q’ while looking at the food you are cooking. Store 1 meal in the cooking pot, saving space in your inventory. Cooking makes old food edible and saves space (the ingredients take up more space than the prepared meal).
Liberty caps are edible if cooked, and the black caps are edible without cooking. There are plenty of wild carrots that you can eat without cooking to get food and some water. You can’t cook in a campfire. A good point to stop cooking canned goods is when the calories reach around 800.
