SealChain: Call of Blood – 7 Essential Tips & Tricks for Beginners

sealchain guides

SealChain: Call of Blood throws a lot at you right from the start. From minute one, there’s a seemingly infinite wave of mobs rushing at you from all directions. When you’re trying to figure out how to survive, let alone optimize your build, the sheer number of enemies can quickly make things frustrating

But once you get past the initial hurdle and start to figure out the core mechanics of the game, things get much easier. In this guide, we’ll give you seven essential tips to make the early few runs a lot more manageable.

The Characters Have Different Playstyles

Each of the four unlockable characters in SealChain: Call of Blood has a unique playstyle centered around their weapon.

For example, the default character, Huntmoon, can use either a bow or a gun that fires multiple projectiles with certain upgrades. You can push this even further by adding Pierce effects, allowing your shots to pass through enemies and clear mobs much more efficiently.

Unlocking the other characters isn’t too difficult. You simply need to clear specific stages with one character to unlock the next. Then, complete more stages with the newly unlocked character to continue progressing through the roster.

What you shouldn’t do is use the same item progression logic for every character.

Each character scales differently. Some perform best when stacking Attack Speed, others benefit more from raw Attack Damage, and some builds become much stronger when focusing on Max HP and Armor.

Spend time understanding what each character is designed to do. Once your items match their natural strengths, your runs will become noticeably smoother.

Whenever you purchase an item, it comes with connection sockets. Positioning and linking these sockets correctly allows you to create chains that activate powerful bonuses and effects. Randomly placing items without thinking about link paths will severely limit your damage output and survivability.

Try to think ahead before buying items. Ask yourself:

  • Does this item extend an existing chain?
  • Can it activate a Seal bonus?
  • Does it synergize with my current damage type?

The strongest builds in SealChain aren’t just about raw stats; they’re about properly connected chains. Keep experimenting with chains to figure out the optimal way to organize your inventory.

Unlocking New Upgrades

Before starting a new run, make sure to talk to Prida and check for available upgrades.

Upgrades are split into three categories:

  • Starting Weapon: Unlock higher-tier starter weapons with better base stats.
  • Skills: Provide attribute bonuses such as Crit Chance and Crit Damage, or unlock additional ability effects.
  • Starting Armor: Unlock stronger starting defensive gear.

These upgrades cost Talents, which you earn during runs. Even failed runs will reward you with enough Talents to gradually strengthen your future attempts.

Consider the MP Cost

It’s tempting to stack as much damage as possible during a run. But if you ignore the MP cost, your build can fall apart quickly.

Every attack consumes MP. You can see your total and remaining MP in the top-left corner of the screen. If you run out of MP mid-fight, you’ll have to wait for it to regenerate before you can attack again.

Even if you max out your Attack Speed and Damage, if you don’t have the MP sustain to back it up, you’re not going to make it very far in the run. Always consider your MP capacity and regeneration when optimizing your build.

HP is The Most Important Thing

Damage is important and all, but if you don’t pay attention to your Health, you’ll make the run a lot harder. You don’t recover HP when moving to the next node. Any damage you take during an event carries forward. That means a single sloppy fight can cripple the rest of your run.

Thankfully, there are multiple ways to increase your HP in the game. Some items increase your Max HP and Armor stat, allowing you to tank more hits. You can also come across Heart of Mercy nodes that grant a specific amount of health boost if you collect them.

Different Game Modes

SealChain: Call of Blood features three different game modes, each with its own win condition:

  • Survive Time: Stay alive for a set duration while waves of enemies spawn.
  • Reach Kills: Defeat a specific number of enemies to complete the run.
  • Reach Total Damage: Deal a target amount of total damage across all enemies.

Each mode encourages a slightly different playstyle. Some reward fast clears and aggressive builds, while others place more emphasis on survivability and long-term scaling. If you’re struggling in one mode, try switching things up to get a better feel for enemy behavior and pacing.

Spending time in the less punishing modes is also a great way to learn core systems and experiment with builds.

Scout the Route

As you proceed through your run, you’ll have to select specific routes to progress. For example, the route in the image above gives you the highest possible HP that you can get by touching four Heart of Mercy nodes. However, that doesn’t mean it’s the best route if you’re going for a damage scaling build.

Take a moment to look at the route before you make your choice. Deciding on the optimal route will give you more control over your run.
