StarRupture is an open-world base builder game featuring many mysteries. The game is played from a first-person perspective and includes advanced combat mechanics. For more information about the title, you can head over to its Steam page.
As the game features an open world, you are given a vast environment to explore. Eventually, you will come across a giant machine known as the World Engine. This machine is even visible from the place where you first spawn, which shows just how massive it truly is. That said, you will not be able to enter it immediately, as doing so requires specific items. In this guide, I will show you how to enter the World Engine in StarRupture.
Disclaimer
As StarRupture is an open-world base-building game, this World Engine guide is based on my experience and how I chose to progress through the game. You may adopt a different approach, and that is absolutely okay. You may have developed an item more quickly than I did or discovered some materials before I did. That is pretty common in such games, where you have access to a vast open world and many different progression paths.

How To Enter Inside The World Engine In StarRupture

The World Engine can be found by traveling north from your spawn point. If you want clear directions, I recommend checking out my part three walkthrough of the game. Once you are in the area, head east from the calcium deposits, and on your left, you will see a giant entrance.
There will be broken rails, so enter inside the structure, and to the right, you will find the main entrance. However, you will not be able to enter, as doing so requires a material known as a Power Cell. Crafting this item can take quite a lot of time, especially if you do not already have the required materials.
Reach Level Eight In Selenian Corporation To Unlock The Mega Press (Not Necessary)

Now, to craft some of the required materials, you need to unlock the Mega Press. To do that, you will have to reach level eight in the Selenian Corporation. This can take a lot of time and effort, so get to work and start making progress. Use glass to reach level seven, and then I recommend using electronics to reach level eight.
You can also use data points to reach level seven in the Selenian Corporation, as it is now fairly easy to obtain data points. Do not overuse them, and only use them this time to speed up the process. Looting different bases and defeating goliaths rewards you with many data points, so it should not be much of a problem.
Where To Find The Blueprint Of Electronics

You can find the blueprint for Electronics in one of the bases near the World Engine. To locate the blueprint, head over to part four of my StarRupture walkthrough. That said, make sure you are fully prepared, as you will have to face a couple of goliaths.
Once you have the blueprint for Electronics, insert the required items into the recipe station, and it will be unlocked. However, if you do not have Synthetic Silicon and an Inductor, then do not worry, as you only need the recipe for the former. The latter can be unlocked by inserting the materials directly. That said, you will need the tube blueprint for this process, which you should already have by now.
Where To Find The Blueprint Of Synthetic Silicon

The Synthetic Silicon blueprint can be found in an abandoned base northwest of your initial base. However, finding it can be a little challenging, as it is located on a mountain. The easiest way to get there is by heading west from the first helium deposits you discovered.
Eventually, you will notice some orange plants on the left side. Follow their trail, but make sure not to walk directly into them. Keep moving upward while staying on the east side, and you will find the abandoned base.
Get Rid Of The Infection

Do note that this base is going to be a little different than the others, as it will be infected by vermin. There are going to be many blue flesh growths, so you will have to shoot each one of them to disinfect the base. Most of them are fairly visible, but some are located inside the buildings. Make sure to check every corner, and do not forget to inspect the roof as well.
Pick Up The Blueprint Of Synthetic Silicon

There are going to be many vermin, so you will need to be extra careful, as you will not have your shield. Loot along the way, and you will eventually get rid of the infection. If you do not want to clear the infection and only want the blueprint as fast as possible, then head up the stairs to reach the top, move forward, and jump onto the building to your left.
There will be a hole in the first building you land on. Enter through the hole, and inside you will find a body and a storage box. Inside the storage box will be the blueprint for Synthetic Silicon. Grab the blueprint and run back to your base. If you do not have many items, you can also die here to return to the base immediately, but that is not something I recommend.
Head Back To The Base And Start The Commission (Not Necessary)

Now that you have the required materials, you can craft Electronics. If you do not mind the complications and the long process required to set up a strong supply of Electronics, then you should absolutely go with this option to reach level eight in the Selenian Corporation. However, if you do not want to deal with that, you can simply craft Synthetic Silicon and select it for the commission.
There will be over twice the difference in speed between the two options, but setting up Synthetic Silicon will be far easier than Electronics. That said, you will need Electronics one way or another later on, so you should plan to set it up as well. For now, let us just focus on Synthetic Silicon.
Where To Find The Blueprint Of Chemicals

Now, you will also need Chemicals to craft the Power Cell. You only need 10 Chemicals and 10 Electronics to make the Power Cell, but the overall process can still be very hectic. Synthetic Silicon is necessary to unlock both of these items.
Head To An Abandoned Outpost
To reach the outpost containing the Chemicals blueprint, head north from the pond. Keep moving north, and this time do not head toward the World Engine. Instead, follow the northeast path. Go up the pathway near the geo scanner and continue heading north. You will eventually notice a building on the right. Keep going north from there.
Double jump to get to the other side, then continue moving forward. You will notice another geo scanner ahead. From there, keep heading north, and you will spot an abandoned base on the right side. From the western area, continue forward, and eventually, to the north, you will see another geo scanner.
That is when you need to follow the path to the left. On the right side, there will be titanium deposit-looking structures. Climb them, and the outpost will be located above, toward the north.
Defeat The Vermin And Grab The Blueprint

The Chemicals blueprint will be inside a storage box near the building at the edge of the area. Do note that there will be a goliath and many other vermin present, so you will need to be heavily prepared. Also, the outpost will be infected, so make sure to use your healing over time items.
You can find some good loot in the area, so explore a bit. On the northeast side, inside a storage box, you will find the blueprint. Grab it, and you are free to leave.
Unlock The Power Cell Recipe

Now unlock the material, and you will need 400 Chemicals and 400 Electronics to unlock the Power Cell recipe.
This will take some time, so start the process and wait for it to be finished. Once completed, the much-needed Power Cell will be ready. Take it and head to the World Engine to finally enter.
Get Yourself Ready To Head To The World Engine In StarRupture

Now that you have the Power Cell, you will be able to freely enter the World Engine. That said, the engine itself is quite a mystery, so you need to be 100 percent prepared. Before heading to the World Engine, make sure you have over 1000 bullets for each weapon.
If your secondary weapon is a shotgun, then just over 500 bullets will be enough. There are going to be many, many enemies inside, so you will need to be more careful than ever in this game. Also, don’t worry about being defeated inside as there will regenration chambers you can claim.
If you do not already have a base near the World Engine, you must build one before entering. This will save you a long trip in case your character is defeated in combat.
Head Inside The World Engine

Note: Before entering the world engine, make sure your inventory is empty except for food and ammo. You do not need any unnecessary items with you, as there is going to be a lot of loot inside the engine.
Once you are ready, use the Power Cell to head inside the world engine. Now that you are inside, go ahead and enter the Evacuation Pod, then pick up the Main Level Access Card. Then, head to the Tech Floor and make sure to claim a regeneration chamber.

Once you reach the Tech Floor, the room full of regeneration chambers will be on the left side. Now, you need to head down to Floor 0 to find the Main Engine. Keep going ahead and then take a left toward the control center. On the way, you will have to shoot some blue flesh. Do so and keep moving forward.
You won’t be able to enter the control center, so head left, and you will find the loading area.
Note: There is an equipment upgrading station along the way, so if you want to switch a weapon, you can do so there. There is also an LEM Station, which lets you change your LEMs.
Explore The World Engine And Loot Everything

Note: You will need to explore the world engine thoroughly, as in order to activate it, you will need certain items that can only be found inside. So, keep looking for bodies, rubble piles, or storage boxes that you can loot. Also note that destroying the blue flesh can unlock certain doors of rooms containing loot.

Keep going ahead, and you will notice that the infection clouds have increased. Head left, and you will reach the staircase to the north. Collect everything on the way, especially if you see Rubble Piles, as you will want the items inside. Head downstairs and then go inside Logistics.
There will be more infection clouds, so remove them with your harvester. There will be some ammo inside a storage box down the stairs, so make sure to collect it before entering Logistics. Now, as you enter, you will have to destroy all of the infection clouds, and vermin will appear.
Find The Generator To Turn Power Back On

Defeat them and continue moving ahead. Once you see the conference room on your right, head inside and get ready to fight some vermin. Defeat them and enter further inside. Loot everything, then go out and keep going ahead. You will find a Rubble Pile ahead, so make sure to loot that as well.
Then open the door and continue forward. Follow the path to the right and enter the IRO office to find some good loot. Do note that as you are looting the area, the vermin are going to spawn and attack you. So, it is better if you close the door first and loot everything. After that, defeat the vermin.

Now, exit the room and head left to the cooling station. Defeat the vermin, loot everything, and then keep going ahead. You will eventually reach the generator, and now you will have to find a way to turn it on.
Find A Way To Turn On The Generator

As you enter the cooling station destory the blue flesh, defeat the vermin, and make your way around the area with the generator. Do note that Vermin are going to swarm the place. There will be a lot of loot inside, so make sure you collect everything. The vermin will continue to appear from the vents, so do not focus solely on fighting them.
To get the job done, head up the stairs and shoot all of the blue flesh you see. This will enable the generator to restart. Once the power is back on, the vermin will most likely stop spawning. Now, exit the area and enter through the door to your north, as almost every single door can now be unlocked.
Head To The Control Center After Activating The Generator

Keep following the path ahead while looting everything in sight, and you will reach the map. From there, defeat the vermin and head to the staircase to the south. Open the door, take the loot from downstairs, and then start going up. You cannot enter Security just yet, so keep going up and head toward the loading area again.
Enter The Control Center (Opposite To The Loading Area)

There will be spitters along the way, so deal with them accordingly. You will now be able to enter the Control Center. It will be opposite the Loading Area, so from there, open the control center door.
Defeat the vermin, grab the keycard, and keep moving ahead. Open the door in front of you, and you will be inside the control center. Close the door so vermin cannot enter from outside, then head up the stairs. Open the storage box to find the blueprints for the pressure tank and condenser, along with some war bonds.
How To Craft The Main Engine Central Core

There will also be a body, so loot it and then interact with the Forgotten Engine control station. Now, you will need a Main Engine Central Core, which can be gathered from the Forgotten Engine item printer. Open the door, but be prepared, as vermin will be waiting for you.
Head To The Tech Lab

Note: If you have explored the area and looted everything around, you will not need to go to the storage bay or the server room to find the required materials. That said, finding them is not going to be difficult, so even if you do not have the materials, they will be very near the Tech Lab.
After defeating them, head to the staircase to the north. Go up the stairs until you reach the tech stations. Once you are there, open the door, defeat the vermin, follow the path ahead, and defeat more vermin. Keep moving forward while destroying the blue flesh, then enter the Tech Lab.
Loot Everything Inside The Tech Lab
There will be a few item printers inside the room, but before interacting with any of them, loot the area. Inside, you will find the blueprints for the Laser Emitter and Scanner. Once you have looted everything, interact with the item printer. If you do not have enough materials to make the central core, then head to the server room and storage bay. There, you will find a lot of loot and the necessary items.
Now head back to the Tech Lab and craft the item you need.
Place The Central Core Inside The Control Station

Next, head back to the control center and place the central core inside the terminal. Activate it, and as you reach 35 percent, a warning will be triggered. A large number of smaller vermin will enter the room and start attacking you. Make use of your grenades and defeat them.
Defeat The Vermin While The Initialization Reaches 100 Percent

Do not stay in just one place, as they can easily destroy your entire health bar. Keep moving and be careful of the exploders. Defeat the vermin and start the machine again. The initialization will be interrupted once more as additional vermin are detected.
This time, many spitters and slashers are going to enter the room. Since the room is not very large, you can move around and defeat the spitters easily. Also, be aware of the flinger. Once you have defeated them, start the machine again, and at 98 percent, more vermin will appear. The exploders will appear first, followed by slashers. It will not be too difficult, so defeat them all and resume the process.

Note: It may seem like the game is over for now since you have received the congratulations pop-up. However, you can still complete commissions, find different materials and blueprints, and discover new areas. The world is vast, so if you are playing with your friends, you are most likely going to keep having fun.
Once it reaches 100 percent, you will receive a congratulations pop-up telling you that you have activated the Forgotten Engine. You will also get the teleporter, which lets you teleport between bases. Since the game is still in early access, everything the Forgotten Engine unlocks will not be accessible for now. That said, the open world is vast and full of secrets, so you can continue exploring and discovering new things.
