StarRupture is a first-person open-world base-building game where you are given a massive world to explore. There are many monsters that you can encounter while exploring, and they can even invade your base. Since the world of StarRupture is so vast, it can become tough to navigate the area without a map. You might think that the game does not feature a map, but it actually does. However, you need to unlock the map first, which can be a little complicated. In this guide, I will explain how to unlock the map with ease in StarRupture.

How To Unlock The Map
In order to unlock the map, you need to level up in a certain corporation. Head over to the corporate terminal and check out the Moon Energy Corporation. Simply leveling up in this corporation will unlock the map, but it is not going to be that easy.
Reaching level two will be a piece of cake, so make sure to do that first. Now that you are done reaching level two, the next part is going to be a little confusing. You may have noticed that there are no calcium ores near your base. You may have found some near meteors, but that is about it.
That said, just like titanium and Wolfram, the supply of calcium is also unlimited. You just need to look in the right places. This is because, to level up further, you will need these ores. The only option available in the commission menu will be Calcium Ore.
Where To Find Calcium Ores
To complete the commission and level up, you will need to find calcium ores. These can be found north of the pond, facing away from your initial spawn location. Keep moving forward, and on the right side, you will see a giant chunk of material that looks a little bit similar to the titanium deposit.
Harvesting The Calcium Ores
Head over there and start harvesting it with your Harvester. This may take a little time, but you will need 300 ores to complete the commission. So, begin the process, and to speed things up, make sure not to let the Harvester overheat. When you reach the full blue bars, that is when the Harvester can be used at its full potential.
However, right before there are two to three orange bars left, which indicate that the Harvester is about to overheat, press reload. This way, you will not lose more than one blue bar, and it will recover instantly. Keep harvesting the calcium ores as quickly as possible, and then head back to your base.
Initiating The Moon Energy Corporation Commission In The OCL
Now, use three OCLs and select the Moon Energy Corporation commission in every single one. Once you have done that, manually place the ores into all of the OCLs and wait for the commission to be completed. This will not take much time, and once it is finished, head over to the corporate terminal and claim the map.
After that, press M to open the map, and you will be able to discover many more things. All of the drone wrecks and the bodies of those who came before you will be marked on the map for you to loot. However, there is still one more thing you need to do in order to fully utilize the map.
Head Over To The Geo Scanner
You may not be aware of what the Geo Scanner is. You can use it to scan and reveal the surrounding area. However, you cannot access it without unlocking the map first. Once you have the map, head north from the pond, and the Geo Scanner will be on the left side. If you cannot find it, simply look to the left of the Calcium Deposit, and you will be able to locate it.
Interact With The Geo Scanner And Protect It From The Enemies
Head over to the location, and you will notice a body nearby. Loot it first, and then activate the Geo Scanner. Keep in mind that once you activate it, many enemies will start attacking both you and the scanner. Initially, only a few enemies will appear, but as the Geo Scanner begins initializing, more and more enemies will start to attack.
They can come from any direction, so stay alert and shoot them as they appear. You can shoot the blue shells of the monsters, and a single hit will be enough to defeat them. The other enemies are much faster, and they will most likely try to attack the scanner. Make sure to deal with them quickly, and eventually, the antenna will fully activate.
Once the Geo Scanner is activated, you can explore areas you did not know existed and find additional bodies and wrecked drones for extra loot. I am not sure if there are more Geo Scanners on the planet, but my guess is that there are. If I find more, I will try to add them to my walkthrough guides.
