Steins;Gate RE:BOOT Ultimate Guide

Welcome to our Steins;Gate RE:BOOT ultimate guide.

Steins;Gate Reboot is the newest iteration of the famous Science Adventure visual novel that takes players through Okabe Rintaro’s adventures involving time traveling and the Future Gadget Laboratory, as well as his growing understanding of the dangers associated with time interference.

This guide provides information about how to complete every available route in Reboot and collect all True Ending flags and all other possible achievements related to various types of interactions with characters, including the collection of certain messages sent via mobile phone, emails, and summaries of RaiNet episodes, as well as obtaining unique wallpapers.

For the most efficient completion, it is best to make saves immediately before major branching decisions and before important email chains.

Note: This guide contains substantial story and ending spoilers. If you only want to experience the story naturally, use the route information sparingly.

Before You Begin

RE is the second game of the Main Line in the Science Adventure Series. Though this game can be played independently, for players with prior experience with the series, there will be additional context gained from it, especially Chaos;Head NoAH. The entire series has some similarities within the building of their worlds and their story arcs, although each arc is independent of each other.

Players who are unfamiliar with the Science Adventure series should note that the post-ending content of the game after the True Ending cannot be understood outside of Steins;Gate alone and is best experienced after getting familiar with the rest of the series.

The number of branches in the routes becomes clearer after learning about several key points at which choices have to be made. Starting from Chapter 6 until Chapter 9, there are four points where you have a choice either to skip sending the required message to get the character ending or send it and move on to the next chapter. Progressing through the chapters to Chapter 10 results in Mayuri’s ending. The same needs to be done to get Kurisu’s (as well as the True) ending, by sending specific responses to Kurisu’s emails.

Part 1: First Playthrough and Character Endings

The first round will aim at getting the early unlocks by finishing the four character endings in chapters 6 to 9.

Pattern follows as such:

Chapter 6 –> Suzuha Ending
Chapter 7 –> Faris Ending
Chapter 8 –> Lukako Ending
Chapter 9 –> Moeka Ending
Afterward, continue in chapter 10 –> Mayuri Ending

At each branching point, always save before making any decision, unlock the character ending first then reload the game and make your decision.

Prologue

The Prologue has no major decisions or collectibles to worry about.

Simply complete it to unlock:

Prologue of the Beginning and the End

Chapter 1

There are some easy achievements to get in Chapter 1 which can be unlocked just by playing around with Okabe’s phone.

Phone Achievements

Access Okabe’s phone and do the following:

  • See sent emails to unlock Memories of the Self.
  • See received emails to unlock Memories of Another.
  • Enter the phone settings and change the wallpaper to unlock Vision Projection.
  • Change the call ringtone in phone settings to unlock First Sound.

PhoneWave Timer Achievement

Whenever you are asked to set the timer of PhoneWave, make a deliberate mistake by entering wrong numbers ten times.

That will unlock: Homerun-level Clumsiness

As soon as the achievement gets unlocked, enter the following code: 120#

Mayuri’s “Upa…” Email

Whenever Mayuri sends an email with the subject: “Upa…” reply: “Upa”

That will unlock: Resonant Reaction

Upon the reply from Mayuri, open the attached file to get your first RaiNet related item and unlock: RaiNet’s Mascot. It is also the starting point of RaiNet Collection which is needed for Hero of RaiNet achievement.

Faris Email

Faris then emails you with the subject: “The decisive battle is near nya” Respond with: Red Southern Cross

When Faris emails you, make sure you download the attached file. This leads to: Princesses of Chaos. You will have to get another email reply to achieve this goal.

Chapter 2

Chapter 2 offers a number of additional phone and email interactions.

“I Made Sweets” Email by Lukako

When Lukako writes the email: “I made sweets” answer with : Family. Then you will get the email: “About my family members” answer with : My sister. This specific email will be connected to the pickup of Mayuri’s call on August 1 at 14:29. Lukako will write afterwards in an email: “About my sister” Just reading this email will lead to: Cruel Sister

Phone Calls

In Chapter 2 you’ll have to face Mayuri’s and Kurisu’s calls. Not answering any of them will give you: Identity of Complete Isolation. This achievement requires you to not answer a phone call, so you are able to save the game prior to receiving a phone call, skip it to achieve the reward and then reload the game to experience another ending.

Answering Mayuri’s call will add one more scene between Mayuri and Faris to your adventure.

Answering Kurisu’s call will lead Kurisu to join you at Yanabashi Shrine.

Chapter 3

There are no mandatory achievement actions required for the main route here.

There are several optional actions that can be performed, however: Once, Daru phones Okabe. Whether or not you accept the call will affect your next scene:

Answer: Scene featuring Daru and Mayuri.

Ignore: Scene with Kurisu.

For those aiming for Froggy Fad Demise achievement, there is the first mandatory Gero Froggy e-mail sequence in Chapter 3.

Completion of Chapter 3 earns: Butterfly Effect’s Divergence

Chapter 4

There are several interesting email chains within chapter 4, including achievements related to Suzuha, Kurisu, and Faris.

Suzuha’s Email

Suzuha sends an email with the title: “Akihabara’s” Your response should be: Peaceful.

The response of Suzuha unlocks: Warrior Girl’s Pride

Kurisu’s Email Chain

Kurisu says: “Have you written it?” Reply with : Report.

Kurisu next says: “Please?” Reply with: Cup of Noodles

Lastly, Kurisu writes in an email :“A favor to ask” Reading the email will give you access to: Discontinuous Qualia

If you choose to reply to the last email that’s perfectly fine but it is not required.

Faris’s Email Chain

Faris sends: “Sign of worsening luck” Respond with : He

She later sends: “Regarding abilities” Respond with: NyanNyanian

Then you get: “Cat tongue nya” Reading this email leads to: Cat’s Tea Time

Chapter 5

Near the start of the chapter, Faris calls Okabe.

If you answer the phone, you get another Faris scene.
If you ignore the call, you get another Mayuri scene.

Both choices are optional for the main story route. This chapter requires a bit of save scumming to get both achievements for Mayuri.

Mayuri’s Email Achievements

If Mayuri emails: “What made me happy today”. Save before replying.

First reply: cosplay

Mayuri replies with: “The reason” This unlocks: Passions Best Forgotten

Now load your saved game.

New reply: Fubuki-chan and Kaede-chan. Mayuri replies with: “Huh?” This unlocks: Princesses of Chaos

This means that you will have completed both parts of the Faris-related part of this achievement.

Chapter 6 — Suzuha Ending

Chapter 6 begins introducing more optional character scenes.

You can opt to call Mayuri at the beginning of the chapter. In case you decide not to do anything, you get an extra scene. Then, you can call either Mayuri or Lukako for an optional scene.

Then again, the player can call:

  • Kurisu
  • Mayuri
  • Daru

One of the above calls will give him an extra scene involving the character called. Not doing anything at this stage results in a Suzuha scene.

Suzuha Ending

At the end of Chapter 6, the player is asked whether he or she wants to send a D-Mail. Create a save before making this choice.

Choose not to send the D-Mail.

The following happens: Suzuha Ending. The following is unlocked: Irreversible Reboot. Upon completion of the ending, reload the save.

Now, send the D-Mail. You progress and unlock: Metaphysics Necrosis.

Chapter 7 — Faris Ending

During Chapter 7, Kurisu will make a call.

Answer → another Kurisu conversation.
Ignore → another Faris conversation.

Once you’ve reached the end of the chapter, you’ll be back at a D-Mail choice.

Choose not to send the D-Mail. And as a result, you’ll get: Faris Ending and the Achievement Unlocked is: Isolated Jamais Vu.

Reloading your save and sending the D-Mail gives you access to: Made in Complex, as well as moving on to the next chapter.

Chapter 8 — Lukako Ending

The important choice comes towards the end where you can choose to call the PhoneWave.

Save prior to the choice. If you do not phone the PhoneWave, the result is: Lukako Ending.

You will unlock: Link of Corruption and Rebirth

Reload your save.

This time, phone the PhoneWave. Proceed through the chapter to Chapter 9 and unlock: Fractal Androgynous.

Chapter 9 – Moeka Ending

Optional interactions are: At a certain point, you may contact the PhoneWave or take no action. If you choose the latter option, an extra scene takes place where Kurisu calls.

Taking part in the phone conversation with Kurisu opens up an extra scene for you. After that, Kurisu will call you once again. If you decide to ignore her second call, you will get an extra scene about Moeka.

Moeka Ending

Towards the end of the chapter, you will have a D-Mail decision once more. Save beforehand.

Do not send the D-Mail. This provides: Moeka Ending and Unlocks: Hide in Darkness. Reload the saved game.

Now send the D-Mail and complete the chapter. This unlocks: Endless Apoptosis

Chapter 10 — Mayuri Ending

Following the route progression outlined above and proceeding through all the decisions in the D-Mails, you will get to the:

Mayuri Ending

The unlocking of the above-mentioned ending opens up the following: Stardust Sky

This stage sees all four character endings and the Mayuri ending completed.

Part 2: Kurisu Ending and True Ending

RE uses a hidden True Ending gate system.

There are six True Ending gates in total.

  • Obtaining at least the first five gates allows you to reach Kurisu’s Ending.
  • Obtaining all six gates puts you on the True Ending route.

The flags are obtained by responding correctly to specific Kurisu emails.

The important thing to remember is that the sixth gate is deliberately handled differently: once you have five gates, you must first ignore the sixth-gate email to obtain Kurisu’s Ending, then reload and answer it correctly to obtain the True Ending.

True Ending Gate 1 — Chapter 4

Load the beginning of Chapter 4. When Kurisu sends: “Did you write it?” reply with: Scientist

This begins a long email chain. Follow these responses exactly:

Kurisu EmailReply
Scientist? ?Bad scientist
Bad scientist.Dad joke
Home Alone.Outsider
Ehhh?Disgrace
Staring at my hand. Why am I still here?

After completing the chain, Kurisu sends: “Being here”. Simply open and read it. This unlocks the first True Ending gate and awards: Genius Girl’s Melancholy

This gate is particularly important because subsequent True Ending-related Kurisu emails become available only after obtaining it.

True Ending Gate 2 — Chapter 5

Proceed to chapter 5. Kurisu sends: “Plans.” Answer: Traveling expenses.

Then, Kurisu sends: “Idiot!” Read this email without answering.

A little while later, you get another email with an emoticon ( ´ · ω · `) in the subject line. Read this email to get the true ending gate 2.
