In Subnautica 2, finding the first important blueprints is key to a successful endeavor on Proteus, given its threatening, overwhelming nature.
With over a hundred discoverable blueprints and items to craft, here are 5 important blueprints in Subnautica 2 that should provide you with a head start.
Table of contents
1: Survival Multitool

The Survival Multitool is a small, important tool that gives you the ability to gather materials from the ocean to craft new items. While individual items can be carried by hand, this multitool can break ores and cut Fibrous Pulps from nearby plants.
It’s one of the legacy blueprints that are available by default, but to make it appear in the fabricator, collect Titanium from the ocean bed. Without it, you can craft nothing.
2: Habitat Builder

What’s an explorer who doesn’t build their home to survive the habitat? The Habitat Builder is a missable but crucial piece of equipment that you will need in Proteus to craft your base. It’s a small, hammer-like tool that uses Titanium to create numerous base interior, exterior, and powering items.
To unlock the Habitat Builder blueprint, you must have a Scanner that requires 2x Titanium, 2x Quartz, and 1x basic battery to operate. Scan two Habitat Builders you can find outside the Welcome Center and in Camp One’s main room, then fabricate them with the lifepod’s barely functioning fabricator.
3: Flashlight

In the deeper parts of the ocean, light is scarce, and things can take a dark turn (literally). To avoid this, you can craft a Flashlight in Subnautica 2, but its blueprint needs two different flashlight scans. For that, you will need a scanner (check the Habitat Builder section for its crafting recipe).
Flashlight #1 Location

To find the first flashlight, go directly below the lifepod inside a cave. Around 37 meters deep, you will find a flashlight hidden inside one of the numerous containers. If you’re running low on oxygen, use an Oxygen Tunic’s bubble to replenish it.
Flashlight #2 Location

Go around 100 meters northeast of the lifepod to find a collapsed base. Swim underwater and enter it through a window, and to your left, you will find the second flashlight. Scan it with the Scanner, then return to the lifepod’s fabricator to finally craft it. Flashlight requires x1 Quartz, x1 Battery, and x2 Titanium.
4: High Capacity Air Tank

Proteus’ ocean is full of mysteries and explorable areas, but most of them are deep underwater. To explore them and gather advanced blueprints to make this journey easier, you must upgrade your oxygen capacity. The standard air tank is already craftable at the lifepod’s fabricator, increasing your oxygen duration from 45 seconds to 75.

However, that’s still not enough. To find the High Capacity Air Tank blueprint, exit the lifepod and swim away 300 meters north. At ~70 meters of depth, you will find a wreckage. Use a flashlight to brighten up the dark areas, and pick up a data card for the High Capacity Air Tank blueprint.
It can be crafted via a fully functional fabricator that can be discovered in your base.
5: Sonic Resonator

To break ingots and progress some of the prologue storyline quests in Subnautica 2, you will need the Sonic Resonator, a big gun-like device capable of shooting sonic waves to destroy things. Two Sonic Resonator scans are required to craft it.
Sonic Resonator #1

The first Sonic Resonator can be discovered inside an arched cave 150 meters to the northwest of your lifepod. Head inside the cave and find numerous tools on the table. On top of a box, you will find the Sonic Resonator. Scan it with your scanner, then find the second one.
Sonic Resonator #2

If you’ve read our prologue walkthrough of Subnautica 2, you might remember The Old Habitat. It’s a wreckage located 420 meters northeast of the lifepod. Head inside from the tunnel to its left, then swim towards the rightmost compartment.
Near Dr. Wu’s black box, you will find the second Sonic Resonator. With this, the blueprint is now complete. Return to the fully functional fabricator to craft it. It requires x1 Basic Battery, x2 Titanium Ingots, x2 Lead, and x1 Wiring Kit.
And here, our guide to Subnautica 2’s first important blueprints guide comes to an end.
