Bombanana! is a really creative cooperative bomb defusal game where three players take on three completely different roles and try to help each other correctly defuse the bomb. Everyone needs to do their part for the entire party to succeed.

Communication Is Key
The entire gameplay of Bombanana! depends on the communication between the three players. Considering that you’re relying on the in-game voice chat, the developers have really mixed in some creativity with the communication system.
If you end up as the deaf monkey, then you can freely give orders to the blind and mute monkeys and can ask questions. However, you won’t be able to hear anything that the other players are saying, and this is where the communication gets interesting.
As the mute monkey, your role is to ask questions about riddles from the deaf monkey, use emotes or head movements to decipher answers, and communicate the solutions to the blind monkey to safely defuse the bomb. If the player playing as the mute monkey does not create this bridge of communication, then your party will always hit a roadblock.
Solving The Puzzles Efficiently
This section is more about the player who gets to assume the role of the mute monkey. When you’re playing as the mute monkey, you’ll have a training manual at your disposal, which contains solutions to various puzzles that your party will need to solve in the different levels of the game.
As soon as the deaf monkey communicates to you which puzzle it is that you’re looking for, try your best to guide your teammate towards the solution. You can move your head in the direction where you want your teammates to turn the levers or the buttons. You can rely on emotes to signal a specific number if the need arises as well.
Race Against Time
As for the blind monkey’s role in all of this, you’ll need to make sure to keep the bomb’s mechanisms from overheating, or it will result in an immediate failure of the mission.
Aside from keeping your party afloat, you’re the only one who can directly interact with the mechanisms inside the bomb to defuse it. Keep listening to the deaf monkey as it guides you about the buttons that you need to press, the wires that you need to cut, and all the other puzzles that can appear during defusal.
Your role is not only important, but it also requires you to be quick. You’re always racing against the clock, and you need to be quick in understanding the commands of the mute monkey to defuse the bomb before the timer runs out.
Keep Switching Roles
When you hit a roadblock in Bombana! and can’t seem to get over a certain hurdle or a puzzle in your journey of defusing bombs. Try to switch things up in your party by shifting roles.
This allows the player who played the blind monkey before to actually find the correct solution to the puzzle that they were continuously getting stuck on and relying on their teammates for answers.
Similarly, the player playing the mute monkey actually gets to see the puzzle from a direct perspective, and this allows them to reflect on what mistakes they were making before. Always remember that Bombanana! is a party game where all three players must equally play their part if they truly want to continue progressing.
