Vampire Crawlers – How to Evolve Cards & All Card Evolutions

vampire crawlers guides

Vampire Crawlers has a ton of hidden mechanics that the game doesn’t explain to you outright. Instead, you’re expected to spend time experimenting with different systems and stumble upon them on your own. Card Evolution is one such mechanic that fans of Poncle’s Vampire-verse might be familiar with, but those new to the game won’t know much about.

Simply put, Card Evolution lets you combine two or more Cards in your Deck and transform them into a stronger Card with unique effects. As you progress into later stages of the game, these evolved Cards will be your go-to when you want to decimate your foes and clear encounters quickly and efficiently.

In this guide, we’ll break down how you can evolve your Cards and showcase all the Evolution Cards currently available in Vampire Crawlers.

How to Evolve Cards in Vampire Crawlers

The way to Evolve Cards in Vampire Crawlers is to find Evolution Gems. You can find them as level-up rewards, end-of-floor rewards, or by uncovering a statue holding a red orb while exploring a floor.

But simply finding an Evolution Gem isn’t enough. You also need to make sure you have the right combo of Cards in your Deck. Otherwise, you won’t get any Evolution Gem. Even if you find an Evolution Gem Statue, it will only give you a Card that you need to complete an Evolution instead of the Gem.

If you have multiple cards that can be Evolved, finding an Evolution Gem Statue will let you choose which card you want to upgrade. You can check all your unlocked Evolution and Unions in the Grim Grimoire from the pause menu. The Grim Grimoire Relic is unlocked from the Library West Wing zone.
