Where Winds Meet – Afterglow Quest Guide

There are a lot of quests that you can undertake in Where Winds Meet, and many of them are quite straightforward, with some twists or puzzles here and there.

Among the numerous quests that you can do is Afterglow, which starts simple until you reach the end of it.

How To Start The Afterglow Quest

In order to start the Afterglow quest, you need to make your way west of the Qinghe region to the Moonveil Mountain area.

Here, you should come across a fisherman that you can interact with. Speak to him, and you will learn about the Meteor Flight skill.

This is when the Afterglow quest begins, and you will get a short tutorial on how this skill works. During this tutorial, there will be a few prompts that you need to click on at specific times.

How To Complete The Wine Jar Challenge

The fisherman will not be satisfied and will refuse to teach you the skill, but after some conversation with him, he will challenge you to complete the Wine Jar Challenge.

This is a simple platforming challenge in which you need to land on the red jars and reach the boat without falling into the water.

Note

Of course, even when the quest says that, you can still drop into the water and retry, so don’t worry about that too much.

When you are ready, speak to the fisherman one more time and let him know you are ready to take on the challenge. Simply use your triple jumps and your air dash to reach the far jars, and you should be good to go.

After you reach the boat, speak to the fisherman one more time, and you will be able to pick up the Meteor Flight manual.

However, the fisherman will disappear from the boat and will say that even though you have learned the skill, you won’t be able to use it.

Even if you try to use it by holding the jump button, you will fall the first time and it will not work, and then you will have to speak to the fisherman one more time.

How To Get The Afterglow Pendant

When you speak to the fisherman about why you can’t use the skill, he will let you know that you need to have a specific pendant called the Afterglow Pendant.

With this item only, you will be able to use the skill freely; however, you probably don’t know how to get it.

This is an exploration reward for the Qinghe region after you reach level 4. You may wonder how to progress this, and it’s just by completing various exploration activities like looting, completing side quests, and discovering new locations in the Qinghe region.

Each one of these actions will reward you with some exploration points, and eventually, you will accumulate enough to claim it.

When you have the item, simply speak to the fisherman one more time, and you will be able to use the skill freely.
