As a city builder, there are going to be some challenging tasks and mechanics. One of the most important mechanics in this game is Approval. In this guide, I will explain everything related to Approval and how to increase it in Whiskerwood.

What Is Approval In Whiskerwood?
For starters, you should keep in mind that Approval reflects how your colony workers feel. You cannot build your colony without the Whiskers, so they are an essential part of your journey, making Approval extremely important. A higher Approval rating provides more advantages.
Not only that, but Approval can also help you speed up certain tasks. It does more than just reflect your colony’s mood. You can use Approval for actions such as assigning workers to overtime shifts or hiring additional Whiskers. For this reason, you need to be careful and treat your workers well.
How To Get Approval?
In Whiskerwood, you can easily lower your colony’s Approval if you are not careful. This can happen if you neglect your workers while still making them work. Failing to provide housing or other basic necessities will make them unhappy and lower your Approval rating.
If you do not provide food, your Whiskers will be unhappy, which will also lower your rating. Assigning a worker to a job that does not match their specialty, such as a farmer working as a miner, will have the same effect. You need to pay attention to your workers and keep them happy, which is not difficult.
Provide decent housing that is not too cramped. Assign jobs that match each Whisker’s specialty and make sure they have enough food. Additional comfort items and more food are always helpful, so focus on providing those. Balancing the growth of your colony while keeping your Whiskers happy is the best way to play the game.
You should also balance the demands from the cat overlords so your Whiskers do not feel pressured.
At the end of the day, the game will show you your Approval rating. Essentially, your rating is based on the positive thoughts of your Whiskers versus their negative thoughts. If they have more positive thoughts, your Approval will be higher. Approval can drop for actions such as “Ate at a warehouse,” “Hard Labor,” “Rude Encounter,” “Bland Food,” and most importantly, “Slept Outside.”
