Whiskerwood is a city builder, but a pretty unique one. It is a cozy game where you can forget your worries and develop a colony for your Whiskers. As a city builder, you will need many resources, especially early in the game. One of the most necessary resources you need to build numerous structures is wood or logs. Here, in this guide, I will show you exactly how to get logs in Whiskerwood.

Whiskerwood is currently in Early Access, so it is still a work in progress. This means it is not the final version, and there are likely to be some changes in the future. If you are not satisfied with its current state, it might be better to wait for the final release.
How To Get Logs In Whiskerwood
You will initially have some logs to begin the game with, so you may not need to focus on gathering them right away. However, it is important to collect more early on to avoid any problems. Since your resources are limited, you will need to use them wisely and ensure you can replenish them.
If you build other structures that require logs and run out, you may soft-lock yourself early in the game. This means that if you have no logs left, you might not be able to get more. To prevent this, first build stairs from the Path and Walking section and place them so your Whiskers can access the woods. A single stair allows one log to be collected.
Once you have built a path, it is time to build a Woodcutter, which can be found in the Resources and Extraction section. Now that your Whiskers can reach the woods, it is fine to place the Woodcutter right next to the trees. Once it is built, assign a worker and use the Chop Priority option to select the trees you want to cut to get logs.
Once you have done that, you will start collecting logs quickly. Now that you have more logs and a reliable way to gather them, you can use those logs to build other structures. Almost every building in Whiskerwood requires wood, so it is essential to secure a steady supply early in the game.
