Empty Inventory Before Leaving

Your inventory is pretty limited, so it fills up quickly while you are out there exploring and gathering materials. Make sure to store everything in your cupboards before you leave to have more space.
When you lose your health, the mouse will drop all items and scurry back home. So storing everything first will also save you from losing your precious items. You should alos craft backpacks when you can to increase inventory space.
Explore During Day

The only time you should be exploring is the Day. It’s very cold at night, so avoid it, as you will lose your temperature faster. Sunsets and sunrises are also colder, but you can explore nearby areas while wearing wool clothes.
Try to also seek refuge in the areas of other NPCs to regain your warmth. You will also want to avoid going out if its stormy outside.
Prefer Cooking

The mouse has barely anything to eat at the start of the game, so you will be eating gathered berries and raw mushrooms. When you repair your stove, you can cook hearty food that increases your health and temperature significantly. Some foods also give you special effects, such as increasing your movement speed, which makes exploration easier.
Try to gather as many mushrooms as you can to make simple dishes. You can even eat them on the go if you find yourself starving on the way. Spiders drop meat, but you need to risk your health to defeat them. Use the space below your home to grow mushrooms. This will also save you the trouble of gathering food outside everytime,
Craft Helpful Items

The quests will lead you to craft many things that you can use to complete the storyline. However, we recommend crafting additional gear that will make your gameplay easier.
Craft extra clothes and cupboards in particular, and you can also increase the space in your basement and unlock the first floor. Better clothes will also improve your warmth.
Do Not Drop Items

Try not to drop any items, as Winter Burrow can be a bit grindy when it comes to gathering resources. You will need twigs, beech, and pebbles repeatedly, even if they seem like trivial items. Graphite is also a scarce resource needed to craft useful tools. Fur Tuff is also valuable for knitting purposes.
Dash Often

You will rely on the scurrying ability of the mouse a lot. Movement speed is more important than you might think, especially when you suddenly start feeling colder or if you are chased by a giant spider.
You will have trouble exploring much, so you will also need to rest by the campfire. You need Kindling and Campfire kits to start one to give yourself some heat. Make sure to dig up the bumped ground, you may get many healing items to keep you going in your journey.
