  • Weapons Found: Nailer, Hammer, Shotgun.
  • Noteworthy Puzzles: Bell Tower Puzzle, Frozen Hand Puzzle, Cryptex Puzzle.
  • Boss Fights: None.

The Beginning

The first decision you need to make after selecting a new game is choosing the game’s difficulty. There are three difficulty options in the game, but only two are available at the start.

  • Assisted: The easy mode, where you have unlimited saves enabled along with an autosave. You’ll also find more Ammo for your weapons, and the enemies will go down more easily. Caroline Walker will also recover health up to caution if she’s not attacked for a while.
  • Standard: The standard difficulty mode. You can only save your game manually in safe rooms with record players. Resources are scarce and require careful management to survive.
  • Tormented: Locked for new players. Unlocks after completing the game on Standard difficulty.

After the opening cutscene, Caroline Walker wakes up in her room at the sound of a scream. Her sister Anna is missing from her bed.

Exit the door to reach the North Corridor 1F.  You’ll spot a hooded figure walking across the hall up ahead.

Head down the corridor and make your way to the source of the scream to trigger another cutscene.

How to Get The Flower Lock

The cutscene ends with Caroline Walker waking up in the Infirmary

The main gate is locked. Inspecting the lock shows that it has a flower bud design

Back away from the gate and go left into the small section with a bed. You’ll find the Holy Bible on the table next to the bed.

Head back to where you woke up and go into the next room.

Inspect the bulletin board on the far-right corner to pick up a Thumb Tack

Examining the Holy Bible in your Inventory. Use the Thumb Tack on the right arm of Christ to disable the lock in the book.

Inside, you’ll find the Flower Bud Key.

Use it to open the main gate and go up the stairs on the other side.

Push the trolley blocking the door forward and exit the Infirmary

How to Get The Lighter & The Pliers

Exiting the Infirmary takes you to the South Corridor 2F.

Go along the corridor and walk down the left path.

Up ahead, you’ll spot Anna’s Sketchbook on a reading table. Pick it up.

Enter the door next to the reading table to reach the Matron’s Office.

There’s a Record Player in the room on the center table. You can use it to save your game manually if you have a Recording Tape in your inventory.

You’ll find a First Aid Kit on the table with the lit candles. Pick it up. Use it in your inventory to heal up.

Interact with the wooden chest nearby to find the Pliers inside it.

Exit the room to return to the South Corridor 2F and start walking back the way you came. The lights will start to turn off. In this game, if you stay in the darkness for too long, you’ll die. So keep running forward all the way to the other end of the corridor, past the Infirmary, and enter the door on the right. This will take you to the Bell Tower.

Start running down the stairs of the Bell Tower and go all the way to the bottom floor. Ignore the lights turning off.

Inspect the shackled body by the lamp.

Use the Pliers you picked up with the cage on its belly to open it and collect the Lighter.

Bind it to a shortcut button (right stick) from your inventory. The Lighter allows you to move through dark areas without getting consumed by the darkness.

Note that there’s another door on the bottom floor of the Bell Tower. The path to the top of the Bell Tower is blocked by two vases. With that done, return to the South Corridor 2F through the way you came.

How to Get The Convent Map

Make your way back to the outside of Matron’s Office. You’ll spot something moving in the distance.

Ignore it and continue moving forward. There’s a corridor next to the Matron’s Office.

NOTE: With the Lighter unlocked, you can go back to the Infirmary and pick up a healing item and a note by heading past the dark area next to the door. They are not essential for progression.

Go along the corridor and enter the door to reach the Library.

After entering the Library, check the surrounding area. You’ll find an old telephone on a table. Inspecting it reveals that it doesn’t have a Dial Plate.

Go down the small set of stairs and turn right. Keep walking to find a ladder heading down to the lower level of the Library. Take it down.

You’ll find the Convent Map on the table as soon as you reach the lower level. Pick it up.

Maps are your most valuable tool in Tormented Souls 2. You can use it to get your bearings and check the locations available. Any puzzles you uncover, along with discovered safe rooms, are also marked on the map. Make sure you check it frequently to figure out what you need to do next.

Continue making your way across the Library and exit through the door between two large statues to reach North Corridor 1F.

How to Get The Hammer & The Nailer

From the corridor, turn left and check the wooden door up ahead.

It’s locked with a giant padlock. But it’s rusty, and you can break it with the right tool.

Circle around the central part of the corridor to find an elevator. But it’s not powered.

Head towards the entrance of the Lady Chapel. Check your map to see its location. This will trigger a cutscene.

The door to the Lady Chapel is blocked by a wierd barrier.

There’s a lever nearby. Turn it on to power the elevator.

Return to the elevator and take it to the lower levels. You’re in Floor B1 now.

Continue along the corridor to enter the Basement.

Open your Map and take a quick look at the layout. Your desitionation is the Workshop in the southern part of the map.

Start running and ignore the enemy that starts to chase you. You can run past him. In a moment, you’ll pick up a weapon to fight them.

First thing first, use the lever on your left to turn the power on in the Basement. There’s a Compressed Air Canister on the table up ahead. Pick it up and turn left. You’ll find a Nailer Frame on the workbench.

Open your inventory and examine the Nailer Frame. Use the Compressed Air Canister on the empty space at the Nailer Frame to create the Nailer. This is your first weapon in the game and it uses Nails as ammunition. You can find some in the Basement area. Bind it to a shortcut slot and exit the workshop.

Head back towards the exit. The monster that was trapped behind bars breaks free. Run around it and go through the bars.

Take the first right and keep running to reach another door. Go through it to trigger a cutscene. This is the Crematorium. The NPC asks you to bring a book with the sacred book which holds the answer to getting past the barriers and saving your sister.

Once the cutscene ends, pick up the Hammer stuck on the dead nun’s head. Loot the locker in the room for some more Nails. Like the Nailer you can use the Hammer for combat. It doesn’t require any ammunition, but you need to get into melee range of the monsters to attack with it.

Exit the room and make your way back to the elevator to get out of the Basement.

How to Get The Shotgun

While the Nailer and the Hammer are both nice weapons, they don’t pack too much power. So before we explore further, we’re going to pick up a powerful weapon that can handle multiple enemies at once.

Return to the Bell Tower area and head up the spiral stairs. When you reach the two green vases, break them using your Hammer.

Continue heading up and climb the ladder to reach the top of the Bell Tower.

You’ll see the Shotgun in the middle trapped behind a glass display case. But the glass is too thick to break.

Inspect the plaque in the front part of the case. It talks of four singers. The key takeway is:

  • Victor with impeccable voice sang first.
  • Big Joe with deepest voice sang second.
  • Claudio with highest-pitched voice sang third,
  • Elias, with as deep voice as Big Joe, sang last.
  • Their voices together “shattered: the silence.

You’ll spot four bells of different sizes around the Shotgun. To get the Shotgun, you need to strike the bells with your Hammer in the correct order.

Strike the bells in this order: second smallest bell, biggest bell, smallest bell, second biggest bell. If done correctly, the glass will break and you can pick up the Shotgun.

Head down the ladder and make your way toward the exit. You’ll get ambushed by two monsters. Fire your Shotgun to kill them both in one go. Remember to bind it to a shortcut.

How to Get The Handsaw

Now that you have the Hammer unlocked, head toward the locked wooden gate you saw earlier in North Corridor 1F. Inspect the door and use the Hammer to break the padlock.

Head out through the door to reach the Cloister. Go forward and break the two vases blocking your path. There are a few more vases in the area. Some of them might contain ammo for the Nailer or Shotgun. So break any vase you find.

Go to the central part of the Cloister to spot a gallow with a cage on top by the water fountain. At this point, a monster will ambush you from the door at the other end. Kill the monster to make things easier for yourself.

There’s an amputated corpse inside the cage and something lodged inside it. But you can’t reach it.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Interact with the lever beside the cage to drop the torso through the floor.

Go back to the corridor and continue forward to find the stairs leading to the lower section of the gallow. But you’ll get ambushed by two more monsters. The Shotgun is great at taking out both of them.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Once the monsters are dead, head to the lower part of the gallow and inspect the amputated corpse. Use your Pliers on the blade stuck on the head to collect the Handsaw Blade.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Return to the central part of the Cloister and go into the corridor at the other end. Continue heading along the corridor to reach another door. This takes you to South Corridor 1F.

Once here, move along the corridor on the right. The left path leads to a locked door.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

You’ll spot a new kind of monster crawling along the ceiling.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Keep moving to the end and head down the stairs on the right to spot a lever. Use it to turn the power on. The door to your right leads to the Kitchen. This is our main destination. However, before we go in, let’s unlock a shortcut back to the Bell Tower.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Go along the passage on the left. You’ll get attacked by the ceiling-crawling monster that you saw earlier. These enemies are much tankier than the zombie-type monsters you’ve faced so far. So make sure you use your Hammer to keep striking it when they are stunned till it goes down.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Once it’s dead, head along the passage to reach an area with some paintings. Interact with the door to unlock the shortcut to the lower floor for the Bell Tower.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Head back along the corridor and go into the Kitchen through the door by the power lever.

You’ll get ambushed by another monster. You know the drill- take it down.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Check the fridges in the first area. One of the fridges has a bloody handprint near the handle. Interact with the handle to open it.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Inside you’ll spot a dead nun holding somthing tightly in her Frozen Hand.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Back away and continue heading through the Kitchen. Head through the open door on one end to find the power lever. Turn it on. Check the locker and then walk back out to the kichen.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

You’ll spot a white door on the other end. Go through it to reach the Refectory.

Head right in the lower part of the Refectory to find the power lever. Turn it on.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Go back toward the door. A monster will crawl out from under the table. Take it down quickly.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Go up the wooden stair and head toward the shelf on the left. We’ve marked it in the image above.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

The shelf here can be moved. Grab it from the right and move it away to spot a hole in the wall.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Go through the hole and you’ll spot the Handsaw Frame sitting on the table waiting for you to pick up.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Examine the Handsaw Frame in your inventory and combine the Handsaw Blade to assemble the Handsaw. Sadly, this isn’t a weapon, and is only required for solving a puzzle, which we’ll get to in a bit.

How to Get The Frozen Hand

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

After assembling the Handsaw, head along the upper section of the Refectory with your Lighter out to spot another door. This one leads to the Calefactory.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Go forward to spot a paper with a chessboard design on the table up ahead. Pick it up.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

This is the Chessboard Mat. Inspect it in your inventory and flip it over to see some scribbling at its back.

Before you leave, take a good look around the area. You’ll find a First-Aid Kit, a Recording Tape inside a chest, and some Shotgun Shells in a vase. The locked door as you go down the stairs has a weird box on it. Inspecting it reveals that you can place something in the slot.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Unlock the door on the right, past the door with the weird lock to open a shortcut back to North Corridor 1F. With that done, head back to the Kitchen, to the fridge with the dead nun inside.

Use the Handsaw on the nun’s hand to cut it off and collect the Frozen Hand. You can see the hand holding something, but it’s stuck.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Head back downstairs and walk towards the door to the power lever. Interact with the burner stove just outside the door.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Click on the handle to open the bottom lid of the stove. Then use the Lighter from your inventory to burn the logs.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Place the Frozen Hand on the grill to melt away the ice. and collect the Cryptex.

How to Get The Crown Key

Examine it in your inventory. You can rotate each of the 7 dials with the chess piece markings.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

You already have the clue needed to solve this puzzle. It’s on the backside of the Chessboard Mat you picked up earlier. The markings on the back dictate the steps that specific chess pieces can take on the chessboard. So to solve the puzzle arrange the dials in this order from left to right: Knight, Rook, Bishop, Queen, King, Pawn, Knight.

tormented souls 2 walkthrough

Doing so, opens the front part of the Cryptex. Pick up the item inside to collect the Crown Key.
