Welcome to the fourth part of our walkthrough for Total Chaos.
After the boss encounter in the previous chapter, you find yourself back outside, in what appears to be a commercial district of a desolate town. There’s a storm looming on the horizon, and danger lurks behind every corner as you try to figure out where to go next.

Finding The Bolt Cutter
Exiting the elevator from the previous chapter brings you to a courtyard. You can spot a large building just up ahead. Head toward it. You’ll find a save point on a couch on your left.
There will be a couple of dogs in the area that you need to take down.
The path to the Oasis Arcade is blocked for now; you’ll need a Bolt Cutter to open the gate. So turn left and head forward to find a door. Head inside the building.
Continue forward and drop down to the lower level. You’ll be attacked by a couple of enemies from the right. Take them down.
Some more will be waiting for you around the corner up ahead.
Enter the small room on the left. Another group of these enemies will rush at you from the end of the path. Take them down. This path will lead to a shortcut back outside, but you can’t use it just now. So turn back.
Pull the switch to open the shutters and head through.
In the next room, you’ll spot a path between demonic walls. The mysterious voice will start talking to you at this point. Pick up the Journal: Instructions 1 from the barrel up ahead. Then head right.
Go past the enemies to find a save point up ahead, along with a Crafting Bench.
Save your progress and enter through the door up ahead.
Continue forward, and you’ll eventually drop down into a dark area. Take out your Lighter.
This area is filled with Spiders, and trying to fight them off is really not a good idea. All you want to do is just run. At the end of the path, you’ll see a closed shutter.
As you get near it, someone will tell you that they are opening the shutters. Fight off the monsters till the shutter opens and quickly head inside. This will trigger a cutscene.
This is Ryan, and you’ll meet him again later on. Apparently, he’s trying to help the mysterious voice that’s been guiding you along.
When the cutscene ends, use the save point on your left to save your progress. Then continue heading forward.
Break the crates on the path up ahead. You’ll reach a room with a Spider. Take it down and use the Switch to open the shutters.
There’s another Spider up ahead. After defeating it, take the Bolt Cutter from the table.
Heading to The Oasis Arcade
After picking up the Bolt Cutter, return to the room where you first met Ryan. You’ll be ambushed by a few more Spiders along the way.
Cut the chain on the left gate and head up the stairs.
Cut the chain on a second gate, and you’ll find yourself back in front of the demonic wall.
Turn right to see a wave of enemies coming towards you. Take them down and move forward.
Go into the small room on the right and follow the path to the end. Cut the chain to go back outside.
From here, hug the right side wall and continue around the courtyard. The ripples that you see up ahead are monsters that explode if you get too close. You can take them out by tossing any items at them from a distance.
You’ll spot a door on your right as you progress. This leads to the Apartment Building, but we’ll return to it later.
For now, continue following the path till you find the stairs leading back up.
Take down the Brutes in the area and save your progress.
Check the small waiting area on the right to spot some items and the Journal: Ferry Ticket.
When you’re ready, head toward the Oasis Arcade, cut the chain, and head inside.
The Oasis Arcade
Enter through the gate to find a save point on your left.
Continue moving forward, and you’ll get ambushed by four enemies. You want to be extremely careful while dealing with them, as they can quickly overwhelm you.
After eliminating the monsters, go right and continue moving forward. There’s a Nightmare just around the corner, so make sure to toss a Vodka bottle at it to take it down.
Head to the end of the path and go through the door.
Go through the gate and take down the two Brutes that come from your right. Collect the items on the table on your left. Then make your way across the room.
You’ll spot an enemy walking down the narrow corridor on the right. This is a Glare. Whenever you see her charging up an explosion, turn away from her. You won’t take any damage. Take her down.
Keep moving forward. Pick up the Journal: Resignation from the locked gate and continue along the path.
You’ll run into another ambush. This time, there will only be two Brutes, so it shouldn’t be too tough to handle.
From here, you can either go left, which is the main path, or right to pick up some loot. The path on the right will lead into some of those ripple monsters that we saw earlier outside.
If you take them down and continue down the path, you’ll find some useful loot along with a Barbed Wire. There’s also a crafting bench downstairs that you can use.
When you’re ready, head through the door on the left.
This takes you right into another huge ambush. Take down the enemies one by one.
Head down the passage where the Glare was coming from.
At the end of the path, you’ll find some items on the ground. The most important among them is the Elevator Button. Pick it up.
There’s a switch here that you can’t use at the moment. It requires the Oasis Goods Key.
Head back to where you got ambushed earlier. There will be a few Nightmares in the area. Take them down and head right.
Defeat the Brute at the end of the path and use the switch to open a shortcut.
There will be two more Nightmares up ahead.
Make your way to the entrance of the Oasis Arcade. You’ll face another Glare up ahead. Take it down and exit the shopping mall.
The weather outside will be different now. Head for the Apartment Building that you saw earlier. There will be some Nightmares in the area. You can fight them or run past them. The choice is yours.
The Apartment Building
As you enter the building, you’ll get attacked by two Nightmares. Take them down.
Up ahead, you’ll spot a door. This leads to a Crafting Blueprint.
Continue down the passage to face three Brutes up ahead. The room on the right contains some useful loot along with a Barbed Wire inside a crate. Go forward to find a save point.
Save your game, return to the fork, and take the left path heading towards the pool. Take down the Brute that ambushes you just before the gate.
When you reach the Pool area, several enemies will attack you. Take them down one by one.
Head along the right side of the room, and you’ll see a door that you can go through on the right.
Head into the air vent in the middle.
Go left through the vent to drop down into a storage room. There’ll be a Nightmare attacking you from behind on the right. Take it down.
Head into the room where the Nightmare came from, and you’ll spot a switch on the wall. Use it to unlock a shortcut back to the previous save point.
Save your progress and return to the storage room. Take the other door here to reach an elevator. Get inside and interact with the panel.
You’re currently at Floor 1. You can explore Floor 6 and 7 for some additional loot. Choose the Insert Elevator Button option and then go to Floor 8 when you’re ready to progress.
Floor 8
Floor 8 of the apartment building is essentially a sprinting zone. There are two monsters in the zone similar to the one that you faced near the end of Chapter 2. As long as you don’t get lost, you don’t have to look back at all. Follow the path mentioned below to complete this section:
Follow the path forward, through the red light, until you encounter the monster. Then head back to the entrance.
Turn right at the entrance. This path loops around the corridor. Keep moving forward. You don’t have to turn back as long as you don’t stop.
From the point shown in the image, go left.
Loop around the corridor and continue moving forward. Take a right up ahead, around the pillar.
You’ll find a valve up ahead that you can activate as you’re running. At the end of the path, go right.
From here, run all the way to the end of the corridor and go left.
You’ll spot the second monster up ahead. Sprint towards it and turn left when you spot broken flooring on the ground. Ignore the breakable crates on the left.
From this point onwards, it’s a straight sprint to the finish line. You’ll spot white arrow markers on the door up ahead that you can follow.
Eventually, you’ll drop down the floor into a new section. The monsters will stop chasing you at this point.
At the bottom floor, head left and follow the path to get to Apartment 31. You’ll trigger a cutscene as Ryan tosses you the Oasis Goods Key.
Loot the area for some items along with the Journal: New Apartment.
Getting Past The Demonic Wall
Exit the apartment and head left. Open the gate and take down the enemy up ahead.
This next section is pretty linear. So keep walking forward. You’ll have to fight a few monsters along the way. Take them down as you go.
You’ll soon find the elevator at the end of a passage. Head inside. It doesn’t matter which floor you choose, it will still take you to Floor 6.
When the door opens, you’ll see a light at the end of the corridor. Head towards it.
Follow the bulbs and keep moving forward. Things will start to get weird as Madness starts to set in.
Drop down the hole on the floor up ahead.
Take the path on the right and continue progressing through the Madness Tunnels. Keep dropping down up ahead.
Cross the wooden beam and head left. Turn right at the end.
Go through the hole in the brick wall and keep moving forward. The rest of the way is pretty straightforward.
Eventually, you’ll drop down another hole on the floor and reach a long corridor with doors on either side. Head to the end of it.
The monsters on either side of the corridor aren’t hostile. So don’t worry about them.
As you reach the end of the corridor, Madness sets in.
Turn back and start running.
The mysterious voice will tell you to kill the monsters up ahead. Don’t attack them if you want the True Ending of the game. Just keep sprinting forward.
You’ll find yourself inside the elevator. Take this opportunity to heal up
Run through the Madness Tunnel to find a save point. Don’t ground yourself or save the game at this point. Or you’ll miss out on the True Ending.
Continue along the path and pull the switch to open the shutter up ahead. This takes you right in front of the Oasis Goods store.
Go up and use the key to access the switch. Head inside and loot the shelves. There are plenty of useful items here, along with a Journal for you to pick up.
Turn left at the end of the store to find a Madness Tunnel. Head through it.
Keep running through the tunnel. It’ll get dark, so use your Lighter to see the path ahead. Eventually, you’ll reach another save point. This one is safe to use.
Pick up the Weight Skeleton (Armor) and go through the gate on the right.
Follow the path to find an elevator on your right. Head inside and use the panel to complete the chapter.
