The Underground

From the start of the area, head forward till you spot a path lit with candles. Follow the candles to reach the first save point of the chapter.

Just beyond this point, you’ll spot a dog barking at you. Take it down. Don’t worry about the giant monster in the trees. It won’t attack you at this point.

Continue forward, and you’ll get ambushed by a bunch of monsters. Take them down.

Go forward and turn left to spot an entrance. The door will fly open, and an enemy will come out of it. Take it down and head inside.

This leads you to the Underground, where you’ll find a Crafting Bench and a save point. However, before you use that, take down another monster here.

Head through the passage that the monster came from. Keep following the path, and you’ll reach a set of stairs. Go up.

You’ll find yourself back outside, but there’s a chasm up ahead. Go left to spot a Harpoon Gun on the ground next to a device.

If you already have the Harpoon Gun, equip it and interact with the device to load your Harpoon. Then aim at the wall and the bridge (marked in the image above) and pull the lever on the device each time to create a way forward.

Go across the bridge and take down the invisible Screamers on the other side.

There will be a bunch more monsters for you to fight just up ahead, including a Glare. Take them down and continue heading uphill.

You’ll reach the entrance to the graveyard. The two gates ahead of you will open as soon as you get close.

Continue forward to find the next Crafting Bench along with a save point.

The Graveyard

Head through the gate next to the Crafting Bench. You’ll see a monster walking down the path towards you. Take it down.

Go across the bridge, and you’ll see a building in the distance up the hill. This area is filled with dogs. Take them down and make your way towards the building.

A monster will ambush you from the left as you get near the door. Take it down.

Head inside the building. The mysterious voice will talk to you again. Pick up the Lever Replacement from the table along with the Journal: Forest Map.

Now you have to retrace your steps all the way back to the entrance of the Graveyard. But you’ll have to fight through a bunch of monsters to get there.

From the save point here, head forward to spot a gate. There’s a switch next to it that you can pull to unlock it.

Go in and defeat all the monsters in the area. There are a lot of them here.

Head up the wooden structure, where the Glare was standing. You’ll find another Harpoon device here. Use it to break the wooden barricade blocking the path forward.

Drop down and continue moving up the path. You’ll spot a Nightmare up ahead.

Go to the gate and use the Lever Placement on the switch. Then use the switch to open the door.

Keep following the path to find a save point. You’ve arrived at the Hedge Maze.

The Hedge Maze

The first part of this area is pretty straightforward. You’ll just have to keep moving forward through the maze.

There’ll be a few monsters in your way, but for the most part, they aren’t too difficult to take down.

Eventually, you’ll reach an area where you see a ramp that you can use to access the section on the right. Don’t go in yet.

Instead, move forward past the ramp to spot a gate and a lever on your left. This unlocks a shortcut to the save point of the Hedge Maze. Unlock the gate, take down the Brute that spawns, and save your progress. The next part is going to be tricky.

How to Escape the Hedge Maze

In the next section of the Maze, you will encounter three of those exploding monsters that follow you around if you take your eyes off of them. And since the Maze itself is tricky to navigate, the next part can be extremely hard to get through.

First, get on the ramp that you saw earlier. Once you cross the gate, you’ll have to run straight to the right. Don’t worry about looking back just yet.

Run straight to the end of the path and take a left. Run all the way to the end and then look back to stop the monster from chasing you.

From here, you need to look away so that the monster comes closer. As you were running to this spot, you should have noticed a path on your left. Make sure the monster crosses that path.

Once the monster gets close enough, take the path on the right.

Take two more lefts and a right to return to the main corridor and quickly turn back to stop the monster from chasing you.

From this point, hug the left side of the wall and start walking backwards while keeping the monster in your sight. Whatever you do, don’t stop moving till your back hits the wall. There’s a second monster that’ll come into the corridor at some point, but as long as you stick to the left wall, you should be fine.

Once your back hits the wall, you need to quickly use the switch that’s on your right. This will open a gate on your left. You need to get inside the gate.

When the gate is open, follow the path and take the first left. You’ll spot a stone structure up ahead. Head towards it.

You’ll spot a third monster on your left. Head to one corner of the zone and wait for the monsters to come into your vision.

This next part is tricky. You need to bait the monsters to close in on you so that you can walk down the path where the third monster was standing. The best way to do it is to make them follow you to the far end of the section and then walk around them while keeping them in your vision.

Back away to the end while keeping your eye on the three monsters. You’ll spot a switch on your left along with two wooden beams. You need to pull the switch and break the beams while keeping the monsters in your sight.

Head left through the gate and back away to the wall.

Head along the left path while keeping your eyes behind you. You’ll spot a path heading right.

Go down the path and then take the path heading left.

Keep backing up till you spot another road on the left.

Take this road and keep walking till you drop down to the next zone. The monsters won’t chase you beyond this point.

The Generators

After dropping down, you’ll spot a path leading through a drain pipe. The pipe on the left has a Barbed Wire that you can collect. When you’re ready, head through the big pipe towards the light.

Break the crates and head left through another pipe. You’ll be able to drop down to the Generators room up ahead. Make sure you don’t fall into the chasm below.

There are a bunch of looatbles in the area. Salvage what you need.

Make your way through the room to find the first of the four valves that the voice mentioned. You need to activate them to take down the Lurker, the huge monster that was stalking you at the start of the chapter. However, if you’re after the True Ending, you should not activate these valves.

Since we’re not going for the True Ending, we activated the valve. Continue forward through the room to find a Crafting Bench up ahead.

There’s a switch in the room. Use it. Then head up the stairs next to the Crafting Bench to reach the save point of this zone.

From this save point, you’ll want to start moving forward. At one point, the Lurker will rush towards you from the right.

Don’t stop and try to fight it. Instead, continue on the path, dash as much as possible, and get inside the big pipe up ahead.

From the pipe, take the left exit. You’ll spot another pipe’s entrance up ahead. Run to it quickly and get inside.

Continue moving forward till you spot the second valve. Activate it.

Go right, and you’ll spot another pipe. Head through it and stop before the exit.

From here, you’ll have to run straight for the lamppost in the distance. There’s a tunnel there that you can enter to not get attacked by the Lurker.

Follow the path through the tunnel to reach a save point. Pick up the Harpoon Gun if you don’t have one already. You’re going to need it.

Stand near the exit of the pipe beyond the save point. You’ll spot a Harpoon device up ahead. You’ll have to use it to break a wooden wall on the right.

However, before you do that, run to the far end of the area and turn right to spot a yellow light on a platform. There’s a Lever Replacement here that you need to pick up. If the Lurker starts causing trouble, there are plenty of hiding spots here that you can use.

Use the Lever Replacement with the Harpoon device and use it to break down the wall.

Then make your way through the mud beyond the wall till you reach a tunnel at the end.

You’ll spot another save point inside the tunnel. Pick up the items if you need them. Then head through the path to unlock a shortcut back to the Graveyard. We can now go inside the Pump Station.

But you need to still be careful, as the Lurker is patrolling the road up ahead.

As soon as you exit the gate, head up the hill on the right. Ignore the Dogs in the area. Run all the way to the room where you found the Lever Replacement when you came to the Graveyard the first time.

You’ll see that the shutter that was closed earlier is now open. This takes you to the Pump Station.

The Pump Station

Go through the shutter to find a Crafting Bench.

Continue past the bench to find the third valve. Activate it. There’s also a save point right next to it. Use it to save your progress before moving on.

Close the valve and go through the gate next to it. Take your Lighter out.

total chaos walkthrough

Head through the corridor and drop down the steel walkway at the end, next to some pipes on the floor.

total chaos walkthrough

You’ll find a vent here that you can enter by crouching down. Continue through the vent.

total chaos walkthrough

Eventually, you’ll reach a zone with those annoying ceiling enemies that attack you in the darkness. So for the next section, you’ll have to keep your Lighter turned on as you move.

total chaos walkthrough

Crouch under the monsters and keep moving along the path. You’ll spot a hole on the side. Drop down to the lower level.

total chaos walkthrough

Make sure your Lighter is turned on and make your way forward through the water.

Go through the gate at the end of the path, and up ahead, you’ll spot some light coming from the right side wall.

total chaos walkthrough

Crouch down to dive underwater and come out the other side. Turn on your Lighter quickly so that the monsters don’t attack you.

total chaos walkthrough

There’ll be a bunch of them coming in from the left. Even if you’re underwater, they can still attack you. So going under them is not an option.

total chaos walkthrough

Head right and continue along the path till you reach a large room. You can spot some more of these monsters on the right.

total chaos walkthrough

Go to the far-left corner of the room and wait for the monsters to come near you. Make sure the Lighter is on so that they can’t actually hit you.

total chaos walkthrough

When they get close enough, loop around them and head down the corridor where these monsters came from.

total chaos walkthrough

You’ll spot another wall that you can dive under up ahead.

total chaos walkthrough

Like before, make sure you turn on your Lighter as soon as you get to the other side. There are a few more of them on your right.

total chaos walkthrough

Head along the left path and you’ll soon come out of the water. This area has light, so you don’t have to worry about them chasing you any longer.

total chaos walkthrough

You’ll find the Pump Room Key on the table up ahead. Pick it up. Then use the switch on the left to open the door.

total chaos walkthrough

Before you leave, close the valve at the top pipe in the room on the left.

total chaos walkthrough

Head through the door to find the fourth and final valve needed to kill the Lurker. Activate it.

total chaos walkthrough

Then, continue forward and use the Elevator to return to the first area of the Lower Floors.

total chaos walkthrough

Use the Pump Room Key to access the switch and open the shutter.

total chaos walkthrough

Head inside and use the save point. Then activate all three valves on the left up ahead.

total chaos walkthrough

Pick up the Pipe (Straight) propped up against the wall nearby.

total chaos walkthrough

There’s a monster waiting for you in the main room. Take it down and head into the gate next to the valve that you closed earlier.

total chaos walkthrough

Turn left to spot the pipe that failed to engage. Interact with it to insert the Pipe (Straight) and fix the system. The shutter next to the Crafting Bench will now be open.

total chaos walkthrough

Head through the shutter and follow the tunnel to the end. You’ll reach the area where you had to break the wooden wall while being hunted by the Lurker.

total chaos walkthrough

Follow the path through the broken wooden wall. If you activated all four valves earlier, you’ll see the Lurker kneeling down in pain up ahead.

total chaos walkthrough

Continue past the Lurker into a tunnel and follow it to the end. You’ll reach a gate. Interact with it to complete the chapter.
