Hamlet is the second stage of the town in the Town to City. It opens up more opportunities for your townsfolk and more options for you to improve and maintain the town. With more families choosing to live in the town, you must provide them with all their daily needs to get the next city upgrade.

In this walkthrough, we will tell you how to upgrade Hamlet to the Village stage in Town to City.

Town to City: Walkthrough – Upgrade Hamlet to Village

Upon upgrading Dwelling to Hamlet, the next step is to further improve the town to bring in more people, so that you can upgrade it to the Village stage. The main requirements for upgrading Hamlet to the Village stage are as follows.

1. Have a total average happiness of 60% or higher.
2. Have a population of 120 or higher.

As more people come into the town, some of them will have specific requests for their houses, decorations, and even jobs. Make sure to read the description of each family before allotting them a house blindly. Moreover, various townsfolk will reach out to you for certain requests. These are the quests that you can complete for the further happiness of the town.

Mayor’s Home

The initial quest that you will get to accept is from the town’s mayor. She will ask you to build your house so that the townsfolk can send you requests. Select the “Special” section and place the Mayor’s House in the town to complete the quest.

A New Dress

After placing down the Mayor’s House, you will receive a request. Click on the mayor’s house to see the request, and it will start the “A New Dress” quest. A villager will ask you to build a clothing store to sell red color clothing items.

Open the Research Menu and unlock the Clothing Store. After that, unlock the “Set Clothing Color” upgrade. Once done, select the “Commerce” section and place the Clothing Store.

Now, you need to place the Tier 2 Warehouse that can deliver clothes to the clothing store. Unlock the Warehouse from the Research Menu and then place it near the station.

After that, go into the connections of the Warehouse and select the Clothing Store. Add a new worker to build the connection. Lastly, you need to set the clothing color to red. Select the clothing store and click on the dice to set the color. Upon setting the red color, the A New Dress quest will complete. In return, you will receive $125 as a reward.

Research New Structures and Give Home to New Families

Alongside the quests, the main objective for you is to keep allotting the houses to new families. Build some houses near the cliffside, so that you can give them to the families who want houses near the cliff. Moreover, in every block of houses, build market stalls of every type so that the families can get all types of food.

In addition to that, don’t forget to unlock new structures from Tier 2 of the Research Menu. Unlock Butcher and Park Decorations to improve the happiness of the townsfolk. Place the Butcher near the main town so that all townsfolk can get fresh meat.

You can also research and upgrade Butcher further into Tastier Meals, which gives an extra 5% Happiness to townsfolk. If some houses are distant from the marketplace, build a separate marketplace for them to maintain their happiness.

NOTE: With Hamlet, you will unlock Family Traits. These require you to fulfill some requirements like Decorations, Trees, Hillside House, Food, and more. Assigning them houses with these requirements will boost the Happiness.

All Hamlet Research Structures and Luxuries

As you have reached a tier 2 city, there will be new structures and luxuries available to be researched for townsfolk. A new Commerce tab for Apparel will also unlock upon researching some items.

Here are all the items that you can research on the Hamlet tier in Town to City.

• Clothing Store – Opens Apparel tab in Commerce to buy clothes
• Warehouse – A large warehouse that can house more labor and can be used for more shops
• Second Floor Housing – A luxury where you can upgrade townsfolk’s residences to add a new floor
• Butcher – Gives 2 luxury points and provides meat to people
• Shoe Maker – Opens in Apparel tab and gives 2 luxury points
• Set Clothing Colors – You can set the color for the Clothing Store
• Optician – Opens in Apparel tab and gives 3 luxury points
• Tastier Meals – Upgrade for Butcher, which gives 5% extra Happiness
• Park Decorations – Unlock new items in the Decoration tab
• Fountain of Seasons – Opens in the Monument tab and provides up to 50 decoration points to nearby buildings.

Have a Population of 120 with an Average of 60% Happiness

Keep improving the town with new structures and fulfill any needs of the families to maintain their happiness. If you have an average of 60% happiness, more families will arrive at the station. If the happiness goes down to 60%, the new families will not arrive at the station.

Here are some tips to keep the people happy and increase the population.

• Check the happiness menu often to see what people are demanding.
• Always read the description of the new families for what type of house they want.
• As the population increases, the labor demand will increase. Add more labor to stalls, warehouses, research centers, and shops.
• Add more decoration items around the houses and the town. Place more street lights around the houses and benches around the market areas.
• Check for any new requests at the mayor’s house. Completing the requests earns you bonus money and increases happiness.

Upgrade the Hamlet to Village

Once you have reached a total population of 120 with an average of 60% happiness, you will get the option to upgrade the town. Click on the green button on the Hamlet on the top left side to upgrade the town to a Village. Village is the third stage for the town, and it will unlock Tier 3 items in the Research Menu for you to unlock.
