Large City is the seventh stage of the town in the Town to City, giving you access to new options to improve your city and upgrade it to Grandiose City. In this walkthrough, we will tell you how to upgrade Large City to the Grandiose City stage in Town to City.

Town to City: Walkthrough – Upgrade Large City to Grandiose City

Upon upgrading City to Large City, the next step is to improve it further to reach the final stage, Grandiose City. The main requirements to upgrade the Large City to the Grandiose City stage are as follows.

1. Have a total average happiness of 60% (normal, Artisan, and Bourgeoisie) or higher.
2. Have a population of 60 Bourgeoisie people.

With the leading population of the Bourgeoisie and others, you will have to manage all three classes and their demands. Fulfilling the demands is crucial to improving overall happiness.

Upgrade Houses to Tier 3 and Expand Roads for New Structures

Improving your city to the final stage can be a bit frustrating, as you might start to run out of land. If so, the best way to outmaneuver it is to upgrade houses to tier 3 houses. It will be expensive, but you should have enough money to do it. After that, demolish any tier 1 houses that are taking unusual space.

It will allow you to have enough space for any new buildings in the city. This will also lower any population density effect on the townsfolk.

Unlock the Increased Vault Size Upgrade

As you will be spending money swiftly on building new buildings and maintaining the shops, you must get the vault upgrade. You can find this upgrade in the Tier 7 Research Menu. It will increase the maximum money capacity to $15,000.

Unlock the Cathedral and University for Public Service Demands

After a bit of work managing the houses and getting some space for new buildings, you can unlock the Cathedral and University buildings from the Research Menu. Both of these fulfill the Public Service demands and provide 5 luxury values each. Place the Cathedral somewhere in the center where most people can access it easily. For the university, you can place it near the schools.

In addition to unlocking University, get the Improved Lectures upgrade as well. It will make the university provide for double as many people. However, make sure that you have enough Artisans to spare to teach in the university.

Unlock the Library Cards Upgrade

To further improve the public service demands, you can get the Library Card upgrade for the Library. This upgrade will let the library have 50% more people at a time.

Unlock the Higher Class Taxes Upgrade

The Tier 7 Research Menu will also include the Higher Class Taxes upgrade for the City Hall. This upgrade will allow you to apply taxes on Artisans and Bourgeoisie. It will help you greatly in terms of earning money quickly, but it might impact your overall happiness. However, you can lower the tax percentage for all to keep the happiness growing and still earn money.

Unlock the Restaurant and Theatre for More Luxury

The restaurant building is great to fulfill the food demands while providing high luxuries for the Artisans and Bourgeoisie. It provides 5 luxury values and operates greatly for the Bourgeoisie. Moreover, the theatre is great for fulfilling the leisure demands while providing high luxuries. It also provides 5 luxury values and operates greatly for the Bourgeoisie.

TIP: It is best to place the high luxury buildings near the Bourgeoisie residence area.

As the Bourgeoisie people have high luxury demands, providing them with the best facilities near their home will keep their happiness percentage high.

Decorate the House and Work Space to Improve Happiness

In addition to building new structures, make sure that you decorate the surrounding area. If there is any place with new houses and work areas, decorate them with plants and trees. Plants and trees greatly fulfill the decoration demands of the townsfolk.

Have a population of 60 Bourgeoisie with an average of 60% happiness

Make sure to house 60 Bourgeoisie in your city and fulfill their needs. There are various other buildings to unlock that can fulfill other demands, but it is not necessary to unlock all of them at this stage.

As you reach the final stage, you can unlock them to fulfill demands for an even bigger population. Until then, keep improving the town with new structures and fulfill any needs of the families to maintain their happiness.

Upgrade the Large City to Grandiose City

Once you have housed 60 Bourgeoisies with an average of 60% happiness, you can upgrade the city. Click on the green button on the Large City on the top left side to upgrade it to a Grandiose City. Grandiose City is the eighth and final stage, and it will unlock Tier 8 items in the Research Menu for you to unlock.

The Tier 8 items mostly help you maintain the large population of local workers, Artisans, and Bourgeoisie.
