Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 launched to a mixed reception from both fans and critics. Many players claim that the developers removed some of the best features from the game. While that is unfortunate, it still offers a solid experience overall, as the game remains quite enjoyable. If you want to see what the community thinks, you can check out its official Steam page.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is an action role-playing video game where your choices in dialogue matter. They can affect gameplay and your relationships with other characters. Depending on the choices you make, the ending of the game can change. This playthrough is based on the choices I made throughout my journey. That said, I tried to be positive in all of my encounters.

Meet Prince Ryong At The Makom Bar

After you have talked to Gideon in The Cigarette Girl quest, you will wake up as Phyre in the present. You will not gain any XP from the previous mission, so unfortunately, you cannot unlock any new abilities. Your objective now is to meet Prince Ryong at the Makom Bar.

When you wake up, you will have a conversation with Fabien, but there will be no dialogue options to choose from, so do not worry about that. Exit the room and leave the building through the same way you came in. Once outside, a quest marker will appear to guide you to your next destination. Follow the marker, but be careful not to use your vampiric abilities in public. You can move through the alleyways to travel more quickly and safely.

When you are about 60 meters away from the quest marker, you will need to enter an alleyway. Once you are around 40 meters from the target, use your Heightened Senses ability to reveal Phyre’s mark ahead of you. Use your telekinesis ability to retrieve the mark, then proceed into the Makom Bar.
Talk To Prince Ryong

Go past Fletcher, and just ahead, you will see Prince Ryong sitting on a C-shaped sofa. Approach her to begin a conversation. You will then be given several dialogue options. Choosing “A private audience? I am flattered.” will please the prince. After that, selecting “And you need me to stop him.” will not cause much of a reaction. However, I won’t recommend choosing “You cannot control your Sheriff?” or “And you need me to stop him..” as they do not lead to favorable outcomes. You can also select “Any ideas why?” for a neutral response.
Later in the conversation, select “It shall be done.” to please Ryong. Follow that with “Consider it done.”, which will further earn the prince’s appreciation.
Investigate Benny’s Mess Outside The Makom Bar

After talking to the prince, head outside the bar. A new quest marker will appear, directing you to investigate Benny’s mess. Follow the marker, and you will eventually come across a dead body. Inspect the body, then use your Heightened Senses ability to reveal a scent trail.
The trail leads upward, so start climbing to reach the top. Keep following the trail until you notice it continues toward a building on the other side of the road. Sprint and glide across to that building. It is fine if you do not reach the top in one go; just climb the rest of the way and continue tracking the scent. Once you are on top, keep moving forward.

When the scent seems to go up again, do not worry. You can continue heading downward a bit (just avoid dropping all the way to the streets). Once you see the scent trail rising from below, a pop-up will appear telling you to perform a Vampiric Sprint and Glide. Before, you were using a normal glide, so this time, activate Vampiric Sprint first, then glide. Doing this will allow you to grab onto the vertical vent on the opposite side of the road.
Keep Following The Scent

Climb the vent to reach the top, then keep following the trail (on the way, you may also notice a big board saying Regal and north to the sign is a Phyre’s mark). Eventually, you will arrive at the place where you first met Benny. Continue forward; you will need to glide again here. If the scent fades at any point, use your Heightened Senses again to reveal it. Eventually, you will have to perform a longer glide, followed by another Vampiric Sprint and Glide. After that, climb the stairs to reach the rooftop.
Keep following the trail until you spot Mirage Hall. From there, glide to the building on the left side, then climb to the top of Mirage Hall to continue your objective.
Defeat The Ghouls

After getting to the top of the Mirage Hall, you will notice a group of ghouls nearby. Start by being stealthy and taking out the one on the right side first. After that, you can fight the rest openly. Since you now have several abilities unlocked, it should not be difficult to defeat them.

Be aware that there is a large ghoul among them, so it is best to save him for last. You can recharge your abilities by using the feed mechanic on the smaller ghouls, then unleash your strongest ability on the big one.
Once he is weakened, finish him using the feed mechanic. After the fight, you will notice the scent leading to a dumpster. You will also see a quest marker, so interact with the dumpster, and a short cutscene will commence, featuring Phyre getting information out of a ghoul.
Search For Benny At His Haven

After getting the information out of the ghoul, your objective will update to search for Benny at his haven. Benny’s haven is not far away, so follow the quest marker and you will reach it quickly. Keep in mind that you will need to go through an alleyway to get there.

Once you arrive, try to open the door, but it will not budge, so you will need to find another way inside. Before doing that, look to the left side, where you will find a Phyre’s Mark. Use Heightened Senses to make it visible, then approach it and use Telekinesis. Collecting it will permanently increase your health, so it is definitely worth grabbing.
After that, head a little east from the door, and you will see a pink car covered with snow. Jump at the top of the car, then climb up to the top of the building. On the left side, you will notice a window. Interact with it to enter the building.
Search For Benny

Once you fall down, you will notice a door on the northwest side, right next to the lifted car. You need to go there to progress the chapter. However, I would recommend exploring the place completely, as there are quite a few collectibles and codex entries. You will also find some elixirs here, so it is worth exploring the area. You can also use Heightened Senses to highlight the things you can pick up.
Once you are done exploring, enter through the door, and you will find Max inside. After talking to him for a while, you will get your first dialogue options to choose from. Do not choose “I mean you no harm.”, as Max will get suspicious. Instead, choose “The Prince sent me to stop Benny.” and then follow it up with “Calm yourself. Then tell me what you know.” After that, choose “Return him to Ryong.” and he will give you Benny’s location.
After that, Max will give Phyre a ring, which will anger him (the ring seems to be important to Phyre).
Search For Benny At The Westenra Construction Site

After talking to Max, exit through the door you could not unlock from the outside. Once you are out, you will notice a quest marker. Follow the marker, and you will eventually have to go through an alleyway. Continue ahead, and when there are around 33 meters left, climb the fence to your right, then climb the wall. The construction site will be right ahead.

Do not rush inside, as there are a few ghouls in the area. You will see one ghoul coming from the right side. Wait for him to get closer, then attack from above to perform an instant takedown. After taking down the first one, use your telekinesis ability to attract one from the left side and perform a charged attack. Follow that up with another charged attack and a few light attacks to finish him off.

Use your abilities to deal with the next ghoul, and then there will only be one left. Defeat him, but stay alert, as more ghouls are likely to ambush you. In my case, two of them came from behind, so be cautious. Defeat them and make sure to use the feed mechanic on some of them to restore your health and recharge your abilities. Once you have taken care of all the ghouls, follow the quest marker and open the door. On the left path, you will find a Phyre’s Mark in the container on the east side.
Follow Benny’s Trail

After trying to open the gate, you will be tasked with following Benny’s trail. Use your Heightened Senses ability, and you will notice blood on the ice and footprints leading east. Follow the trail, and you may encounter some ghouls along the way. Defeat any that appear, then continue following the trail until you reach the stairs on the right side.
There will be more ghouls in this area, so try to stay stealthy. If you are spotted, fight aggressively and defeat them. There are likely only two ghouls here. After taking them out, you will notice blood to the north on the scaffolding covered in red wrap. Climb the scaffolding and follow the path ahead.

Use Heightened Senses occasionally to keep track of Benny’s footprints. You will soon find another scaffolding covered in red wrap with blood on it. Climb that one, then climb another scaffolding ahead. Once you reach the top, turn around and jump to the other side. There will be a ghoul on the platform, so defeat it and keep moving forward. A charged punch should be enough to knock the ghoul off the ledge.
Keep Following The Trail

You will have to make a jump, and another ghoul will be waiting for you just ahead. Defeat the ghoul, then move forward and climb the scaffolding to the left that is covered in blood. After that, turn left and keep going ahead. You will notice a body hanging from a pillar. To the right of the body, there is a door. Open it, and a loading screen will appear with a random tip.

After the area is loaded, go left and then take a U-turn. You will see a small hole in front of you; go through it, move ahead, and use your Heightened Senses. Look to your right, and you will notice a Phyre’s Mark. Use Telekinesis to collect it. To your left, there will be a detour sign. Jump over it, continue forward, and crouch to make further progress. Along the way, there will be some items and objects you can inspect, so take the time to check them.

Keep following the path ahead, and you will eventually come across some fresh bodies that were recently killed. Move into the next room, and you will see a “Ghouls” sign right in front of you. Below that sign, there will be a hole. Drop down through it, then go to the right to continue.
Defeat The Ghouls

Once you reach the far right side, you will notice a ghoul at the bottom of the scaffolding. Attack from above to instantly kill him, then move forward to find another one just ahead. Perform the same attack to take him out as well. There are a lot of ghouls in this area, so staying stealthy is the key. If you are spotted, all of them may rush toward you, which can make the fight much harder.
If you do get noticed, climb the scaffolding and go up. Wait for the ghouls to follow you; this will give you enough time to defeat one before the next reaches you. Also, keep in mind that there are a couple of large ghouls in this area, and one of them can control blood, so be careful when facing him.

If you are having a hard time fighting the enemies, you can always retreat and climb up the scaffolding. From there, hide and wait for the enemies to stop chasing you. This will allow you to take them out silently one by one. You can also use Telekinesis to grab a shotgun from one of the enemies and use it against them. This deals heavy damage and is very useful in tough situations.
Once you have defeated all the ghouls, go down and use Heightened Senses to track the footsteps. They lead toward an elevator shaft. Approach it and open the steel door. After that, jump down, and your objective will update.
Find Benny

After jumping down, go left and follow the pathway. I recommend crouching here, as there are many ghouls ahead, and you do not want to alert all of them at once. Ahead, you will see a single ghoul with a gun. Follow him while staying crouched and take him down stealthily.
Next, head left, and you will notice a pistol on a table. You can use your Telekinesis ability to grab the pistol and shoot the ghouls, but that will attract a lot of attention. You can do this if you prefer a direct approach, but I recommend staying stealthy. Instead, pick up the bottle nearby, move forward, and you will notice a ghoul coming your way. Smash the bottle on the wall in front of you to distract the ghoul, then take him down silently.

Now you need to move to a lower level, but there are many ghouls in the area. You cannot stay stealthy anymore, as there are simply too many of them. However, since the area is large, you do not need to fight them all at once. You can create distance using abilities like Vampiric Sprint and defeat them one by one.

Some ghouls carry guns, which you can grab with your Telekinesis ability. Use those weapons against the others, as they are very effective. Be careful of the large ghoul with a shotgun. It is best to defeat him first and then use his weapon to finish off the remaining enemies.
Once you have defeated all the ghouls, your objective will update to waking up Benny.
Wake Benny

After defeating the ghouls, go to the middle of the area, and you will see Benny stuck inside a wall of concrete. Interact with him to trigger a cutscene. Shortly after, you will get several dialogue options to choose from.
If you select “You got sloppy.”, Benny will be amused by your response. Choosing “What does this symbol mean?” will also amuse him, while “I could let the Anarchs have you.” will annoy him. If you choose “Your sire misses you.”, Benny will be embarrassed. You can pick whichever option suits your preferred approach, but I chose the symbol one.
Once the conversation ends, Benny will break himself free from the concrete, and the fight against him will begin.
How To Defeat Benny In Bloodlines 2

Before you fight him, you should know that Benny does not have just one health bar. The three red bars you see at the top of his health bar are basically his refills. Even if you deplete his health once, one of the red bars will be used, and he will regain all of his health. This will continue until he runs out of red bars. The last red bar will not restore his health.

Also, this fight is not going to be extremely tough, but it will depend on the difficulty you choose. Benny does not have a lot of health, so if you use your abilities, you can destroy his first health bar easily. That said, the challenge begins once you have used all of your abilities.
Benny has many abilities, and his attacks are not very easy to dodge. He even has some feints that can catch you off guard. For example, he performs a shoulder charge and then shifts it into a punch. Even if you dodge the shoulder charge, he can still hit you with the punch, so be cautious.
You may also notice him performing a shoulder charge similar to what previous big ghouls have done. It is fairly easy to dodge; you just need to press L1 or LB when he is near you. He will glow red before performing the shoulder charge.
Make Use Of Your Abilities And Don’t Be Afraid To Be Aggressive

Benny is fast, and his attacks do not give you enough time to react. However, he will glow red before performing a big combo, so that is your cue to run or dodge away from him. That said, this fight is not going to be very difficult. Deplete his first health bar using your abilities and then perform the feed mechanic on him.
His health will be regenerated. Then, use your fists to fight him and do not be afraid to attack. You can stun him with your attacks, but if he starts a combo, make sure to instantly dodge back two or three times. After a little while, some ghouls will join the fight, but they will not be attacking only you. They will also attack Benny. Since they are a nuisance, take care of them first.

Benny is also likely to shift his focus to them, so defeat them and then pick up a gun using your telekinesis ability. Also, make sure to use your feed ability on any ghoul you defeat, as this will not only restore your health but also recharge your abilities. Once you have depleted Benny’s second health bar, feed on him again.
As he regains his health, he is likely to start the fight with a combo, so it is better to retreat. Then, use your abilities to inflict damage on him. Also, note that Benny has some jumping attacks. In one version, he will glow red, jump, and then slam the area. In another version, he jumps and instead of slamming, he comes down to kick you and follows it up with a slash attack.
Defeat The Ghouls And Benny

Shortly after, more ghouls will join the fight, but you can use that to your advantage. Most of them will have guns and are likely to target Benny. Once his third health bar is depleted, perform the feed ability on him, and the fight will be over. After defeating him, a cutscene will trigger, featuring Phyre overpowering Benny and Katsumi appearing.

Shortly after, you will have to choose from dialogue options. I selected “Alright. Let us talk.” and Katsumi appreciated that. Then I chose “My orders are to bring him in,” followed by “Let’s just settle this.” This will advance the conversation, but if you want to ask Katsumi more questions, you are free to do so.
Now you can either give Benny to them or keep him with you to present him to Prince Ryong. I chose “Benny comes with me,” and Katsumi was angered by this. Then I chose “Thank you,” and shortly after, the conversation was finished.
Talk To Prince Ryong

After you have finished talking to Katsumi, you will be back at the Weaver Tower. Prince Ryong will be impressed that you brought Benny in, and then you will have to choose from the dialogue options. I chose “As promised, my Prince,” and Ryong appreciated that. Prince Ryong will then offer you the role of the sheriff, and you will get several dialogue options to select.
I then chose “You have a deal,” and the prince was pleased by this. Then I chose “The Anarchs respect her,” “I think Benny killed Campbell…,” “The timing of his Anarch massacre,” and “Yes – my departure.” With this, the conversation between you and the prince will be over.
Following that, Chapter Five, A Star of Cold Aspect, in Bloodlines 2 will be concluded. You will receive 3,000 experience points and gain access to the clan contacts. Now you can learn abilities from the other clans, as these contacts can help you with that. That said, you will need to gather some resources to unlock other abilities since you are not a part of those clans.
