Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 launched to a solid player count, but its peak did not increase even over the weekend. This is likely due to the negative reviews on Steam. However, many players still enjoyed the experience, and you can visit the game’s Steam page to check out their reviews.
After witnessing the bomb go off, Phyre is most likely unconscious, and you will now play as Fabien again. This quest involves a lot of questioning, interrogation, and investigation. In this guide, I will guide you through Bloodlines 2, Chapter 13, In Memoriam, step by step, so you can have the best possible experience.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is an action role-playing video game where your choices in dialogue matter. They can affect gameplay and your relationships with other characters. Depending on the choices you make, the ending of the game can change. This playthrough is based on the choices I made throughout my journey. That said, I tried to be positive in all of my encounters.

Playing As Fabien Again

After the explosion, the “To Founder on the Lethe” quest will conclude, and you will return to the sunflower field. Here, Fabien will finally piece together whose voice he has been hearing. It is the same person who was giving orders to Willem. Once the conversation with the Gardener ends, you will be taken back to the past.
Then, you will witness Prince Campbell yelling at Benny because of the Rebar Killer’s actions. Shortly after, Benny will mention that Fabien has been looking into the matter, and you will get some dialogue options to choose from. I selected “How is he still alive?” though you can select any. Following that, you can choose any dialogue, and shortly after, Tolly will appear.

I selected “Must be a copycat.” and “These deaths keep reminding me…” and then Tolly provides a new lead. Once the conversation is over, exit the room, take a right, and then enter the room with red lights to your left. Safia will be right ahead, and you can ask her some questions.

There will be a single dialogue option both times, so select those and then leave. After that, exit the Weaver Tower and select the “In Memoriam” quest from the map. Then, follow the quest marker until you reach your destination.
Investigate The Crime Scene At 3204 Pioneer Square

Upon reaching the destination, open the gate, and yes, it is the same location where you came to rest as Phyre. Since this is in the past, the place is still intact, so use the stairs to go up and enter the same 5F room. Upon entering the room, your objective will change to investigating the crime scene. Just ahead will be the victim, killed in the same manner as the previous ones.

Interact with the body, then press L2 + Square or LB + X. Doing so will activate the Spirit’s Touch ability, and Dale will appear in front of you. After that, a conversation will begin, and you will get several dialogue options to choose from.
You will have some questions to ask him during the conversation, so make sure to ask all of them. By the end of the conversation, you should have two new leads. When the conversation is over, leave, and there will be a few things to investigate in the room. Use your heightened senses to see which objects you can interact with.
Interact With Everything Inside The Room

Aside from Dale’s body, there will be around 11 things you can interact with, and they are the following:
- The telescope near the pile of books and a window.
- The metal door on the left side of the room.
- A Bible to the right of the wooden door and a guitar.
- A spirit board right next to the Bible.
- A small estrogen bottle under the lamp on the table inside the bedroom.
- Dale’s wardrobe on the right side of the bedroom.
- A potion inside the bathroom.
- The dead cat in the kitchen (you can use the Spirit’s Touch ability on the cat to unlock an achievement, “That’s the Spirit”).
- The small lab on the counter to the left of the dead cat.
- A table behind Dale.
- Some bottles on top of the boxes near the bathroom.

Also, note that there is a Blood Elixir to the right of the refrigerator, on top of the counter. Make sure to grab that. You can use the elixir to recharge your Spirit’s Touch ability so you can use it on the dead cat.
Once you have interacted with almost everything, your investigation will be completed (realistically, you just have to obtain the potion to trigger the next objective), and you will be tasked with selecting a new lead from the map. There are now more leads available, allowing you to choose from any of them. I went with the Reggie one.
Ask Reggie About Any Comings And Goings At 3204 Pioneer Square

This lead will be quite close to your current location, so once you have selected it on the map, head over to the destination. Reggie will be standing right next to The 13th Man in the alley. Upon talking to him, you will be able to recharge your ability, and then you will need to press L2 + Circle or LB + B to proceed.
I chose “I could murder a burger. With a knife.” as this advances the conversation. Then, I selected “The door, the apartment, I-uh…” as this also advances the conversation further. Once the conversation ends, you will learn that someone has been suppressing Reggie’s memories, so it does not help much. That said, when the conversation ends, recharge your abilities by drinking his blood, and it will be time to follow the next lead.
Question Mrs. Thorn About The Unknown Elixir

After your conversation with Reggie is over, you will get a new objective. Open your map and choose a new lead. The closest one is to ask Mrs. Thorn questions about the unknown elixir, so select that. Then, start making your way to the destination, and when you arrive, open the door to the Wake the Dead café and start a conversation with Mrs. Thorn.
You just need to ask her, “You know this potion?” and you will receive a new lead. After that, your conversation with Mrs. Thorn will be over, and the investigation at Wake the Dead café will be complete. Now, open your map and hover over the Weaver Tower to select the next lead. Also, before leaving, you can head over to where Safia usually sits to collect a codex entry.
Question Safia About The Unknown Elixir

After your conversation with Mrs. Thorn is over, it is time to head over to Safia. The Weaver Tower is a bit far, but thanks to Fabien’s sprint ability, you can reach it quickly. If you are wondering why mortals are not suspicious of him, it is because Fabien speeds up time instead of running at superhuman speed.
Once you reach the Weaver Tower, head inside and go over to Safia’s lab. You should grab the Blood Elixir from the table on the left before starting a conversation with her. After picking up the elixir, start a conversation with Safia, and you will get some dialogue options to choose from.
There will be two dialogue options, and you can select either one, as you will be able to choose both during the conversation. Once you have finished talking to her, select the “(Leave.)” option, and your objective will update again, prompting you to select a new lead from the map. You now need to ask Katsumi about the memory elixir, so hover over to the southwest side of the map and select that lead.
Question Katsumi About The Memory Elixir

Make your way to the Hole in the Wall bar and head inside. Katsumi will be in the same spot as you may have noticed her sitting in some of the previous quests. She will be sitting alone at one of the tables on the right side. Approach her and start a conversation.
As soon as the conversation begins, you will get some dialogue options to choose from. I selected “I picked up this potion…” followed by “I’m looking for a murderer.” After that, you will exhaust a lead. You can also ask Katsumi about how her life is, but that is optional. If you want, you can leave, and it will be time to follow another lead.
Question Niko About The Memory Elixir

Once your conversation with Katsumi is over, get out of the bar and open your map to select a new lead. It will not be far away, so start heading toward your destination to talk to Niko. Once you arrive at Aurora Pawn, head inside and start a conversation with Niko.

Shortly after, you will get some dialogue options to choose from. I selected “Know anything about potions?” and the lead was exhausted, as Niko does not deal in liquids. Then, there are two more dialogue options you can select. You can choose “Could you take a look at this metal cross?” to learn more about the cross, and then leave.
Now, you will need to select another lead from the map. Exit Niko’s shop, hover over to the southwest side, select the lead, and start making your way toward it.
Question Tolly About The Memory Elixir

Once you are out of the shop and have selected a new lead, start sprinting toward the quest marker. Shortly, you will reach Tolly, so start a conversation with him, and you will get some dialogue options to choose from. I selected “I’m looking into the alchemy trade…” and then followed it up with “No idea on who needs a memory potion?” but Tolly will not reveal anything.
This is where Fabien hits a wall, as Tolly knows something about it but is deliberately not telling him anything. However, Fabien is not a mortal, so it is time to use one of his abilities to get the information out of Tolly.

Once the conversation is over, press L2 + Circle or LB + B to read his thoughts. His mind is a mess, so it can be easy to get distracted from what you are supposed to do. He has a lot of thoughts, but at a glance, it may become obvious which one you want to select. The other options are interesting, but selecting them will not advance your conversation, and you will not get any useful information from him.
To find the answer, select “It’s goddamn obvious who needs the drink.” or “C’mon. Big brain needs more thinky space!” You will then learn that Willem was the buyer. Just so you know, there are 11 other options you can select; that is how Tolly’s mind works, lol. Once you have finished reading his memories, your objective will update to select a new lead to investigate.
Interrogate Willem About Dale’s Murder

Willem will be just north of your location, not far away, so follow the quest marker to reach him. The entrance is on the left side of the building, so go inside and then enter the green door with “Exit” written on it. This time, in this location, you do not have to fight any ghouls, as it was previously full of them. Go down the stairs, open the door, and you will encounter a puzzle that you need to solve.
How To Solve The Lever Puzzle As Fabien

This is the same puzzle as before, but unfortunately, Fabien does not have the Telekinesis ability like Phyre does. At first, it may seem impossible to pull the lever quickly enough to unlock the container, but it is not. There is an elixir that you can use, which will give you the Telekinetic power, similar to Phyre. Use your heightened senses to find that elixir behind the pickup truck and use it.
Once you have used the elixir, you will be able to use the Telekinesis power to pull the lever. Just like when you solved the puzzle with Phyre, do the same here to open the container. That said, do not use Fabien’s sprint, as it speeds up time, and you do not want that. You can simply stand in the middle and instantly activate all three levers.

Once you have done this, the container will open. Enter and jump down. Just ahead, you will see Willem. Approach him and start a conversation. Upon doing so, you will get some dialogue options to choose from. Select “You know anything about alchemy and thin-bloods?” and this will give you a new option. The new option is “Come clean. You’re using memory potions,” which advances the conversation.
Now you can select any of the dialogue options, and it will trigger a flashback.
Talking To Hector

The flashback will feature an ongoing conversation with Hector. Shortly after the flashback starts, you will get some dialogue options to choose from. You can select different options to learn more about what is going on, but keep in mind that selecting “You were worried about a girl…” will finish the conversation.
You will get some clues from Hector about the interrogation you have to conduct, so it may be worth talking to him. After you are finished talking to Hector, enter the interrogation room, as it is time to speak with the suspect. In the conversation with the suspect, you can select any options you want, but you will not get anything useful from him. Soon, you will notice a prompt indicating that Fabien has hit a wall, so it is time to use your ability.

Once the conversation is over, press L2 + Circle or LB + B to read his thoughts, and you will get some dialogue options to choose from. If you select the wrong option, you will see more of his thoughts, which will just waste your time. To progress, simply select “They told me it would make me strong…” or “It still stings a bit, where he bit me.” and with that, the mind-reading section will be concluded.
Then, talk to the suspect again and select the option “You’re a vampire!” followed by “It absolutely is!” You can then ask him different questions, and the conversation will continue. Keep in mind that selecting “Did you get a look at him?” will give you a new lead. After asking all the questions, you will get some final dialogue options to choose from. Select any of them, and you will return to the present as Phyre.
Talking To Prince Ryong And Safia

After you return to the present, a cutscene will trigger featuring Ryong, Safia, and Phyre. Shortly after, you will get some dialogue options to choose from. I selected “How did I get here?” and Safia became upset by this. Then Ryong will ask you for an explanation. I selected “I tried to save Willem,” followed by “It is the truth.”
When the conversation ends, the quest will be concluded, and you will see two main quests being completed at the same time: To Founder on the Lethe and In Memoriam. Since the current quest was completed as Fabien, you will not receive any reward for that. However, you will earn 3400 EXP for completing To Founder on the Lethe. Completing Chapter 13, In Memoriam quest in Bloodlines 2 will further unlock three other quests, which I will cover in the next walkthrough.
