Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is quite a long game, but it has many problems. If you want to learn about some of the issues the fandom is facing, visit its community forums on Steam.
After completing To Founder on the Lethe and In Memoriam, three new quests will appear on your map. You can select any of them, as there is no specific order to follow. The next quests on your list in Bloodlines 2 as part of Prove Yourself are Tome Alone, A Plaything Discarded, and A Little Book of Blackmail. Here, I will guide you through all three of these quests to make your overall experience better.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is an action role-playing video game where your choices in dialogue matter. They can affect gameplay and your relationships with other characters. Depending on the choices you make, the ending of the game can change. This playthrough is based on the choices I made throughout my journey. That said, I tried to be positive in all of my encounters.

Bloodlines 2 – Tome Alone Quest Walkthrough

Your first objective is to select a quest from the map, and as Safia is the closest one, select Tome Alone. Head over to her lab and initiate a conversation. Shortly, you will get some dialogue options to choose from. I went with “I am sorry about Willem.” and Safia will appreciate that. After that, I selected “You are not alone. I am here.” and Safia loved that.
Then, I selected the following dialogue options to proceed with the conversation:
- What did they say?
- The Sabbat must be stopped.
- You are sure the books have answers?
Now, your objective is to ask Lou about the forbidden books.
Ask Lou For The Forbidden Books

Once your conversation is over with Safia, the “Tome Alone” quest in Bloodlines 2 will start. Exit the Weaver Tower and follow the quest marker to reach the location. Once you are outside the Glacier Hotel, enter, go up the elevator, and Lou will be beside the fireplace.

I chose the following dialogue options in the conversation with Lou:
- I’m looking for certain texts…
- I’m researching the mark. (Lou will become interested by this option) You can also choose “I need to find out how I woke here.” as Lou will be intrigued by this.
- Where’s the catch?
- My time here is temporary. (Lou will be amused by this option)
Then Lou will start having visions again, so choose “Lou?”, and the conversation will be over..
Search For The Forbidden Books At St. Stephens

Once your conversation with Lou Graham is over, exit the hotel and start heading toward the quest marker. You now have to find the forbidden books at St. Stephens, a church. Upon reaching the location, enter and head north (go past the table in the middle and enter the room ahead). There will be some things to inspect in the area, do that, and then open the door to your left.

By doing that, your objective will be updated to find the books in the basement. Head inside, see if there is something you can inspect, and then drop down from the north. Follow the path ahead, and there will be some anarchs. The first one is quite troublesome and can prevent the feed mechanic if you use it stealthily. So instead, perform the attack, and you take out a chunk of his health.

Then use any of your abilities to deal with him and proceed further. There will be more enemies, but they will not pose a threat, so defeat them quickly, and when the path ends, go left. There will be even more enemies, so defeat them, and to your right, you will notice that there is a coffin. Use your telekinesis ability to remove the cover.

Once you have removed the cover, pick up the forbidden books, and your objective will be updated..
Deliver The Forbidden Books To Safia

Now go back, up the ladder, up the stairs, and then open the door. Head right, and there will be some enemies inside the church. The most troublesome ones will be the thin-blood anarch and the big one, so defeat them first using your abilities. Also, when they are stunned, make sure to use the feed mechanic, as they give you more healing and ability pips.

Once you have defeated the enemies, go outside and follow the quest marker to reach Wake the Dead Cafe. Safia will be sitting in her usual spot, so approach her to trigger a conversation. Then you will get some dialogue options to choose from. Choose “Take your time.” as Safia will appreciate that, and then choose “Good thing I have you, then!” as it will make her embarrassed.
When the conversation is over, the Tome Alone quest in Bloodlines 2 will also be over, and you will get 1500 EXP as a reward. Now, two more quests, Little Book of Blackmail and A Plaything Discarded, are left in Bloodlines 2 to trigger Prove Yourself.
Bloodlines 2 – A Plaything Discarded Walkthrough

After completing Tome Alone in Bloodlines 2, you can select A Plaything Discarded. Upon selecting that, follow the quest marker to head over to Katsumi at Hole in the Wall. While Katsumi can usually be found in the same spot, you will not find her this time and will instead run into Max.

Then a conversation will begin, and you will get some dialogue options to choose from. I chose “Good to see you safe.” and Max was pleased by that. If you choose “Get to the point – where is she?” Max will resent that. Then I chose “I am happy for you.” and Max was pleased by that. Finally, choosing “I will go right away.” will finish the conversation, and your objective will be updated to meet with Silky.
Meet With Silky At The Dutchman

After your conversation with Max is over, go out and follow the quest marker to reach The Dutchman. Once you reach the location, enter inside, and Silky will be in the same spot where you previously met him. Go up the stairs, enter the room to your left, then go east, and Silky will be sitting on the sofa right ahead.
You will then get some dialogue options to choose from. I selected “Max said he sent someone to you?” Then I chose “Where did she go?” and your objective will be updated to follow Verona’s scent.
Follow Verona’s Scent

When your conversation with Silky is over, activate the heightened senses ability to track Verona’s scent. Go out of The Dutchman and keep following the scent. Eventually, you will reach a place with a lot of ghouls. Be stealthy, as that way you will be able to take out at least two or three of them. That said, all of them are normal ghouls, so you will not have trouble fighting them even if you face them head-on.
After defeating the ghouls, activate your heightened senses again, and you will notice the scent is vanishing near the porta-potty. That is where Verona is, so now you have to protect her from the ghouls. Once you have defeated all of them, Fabien will let you know, and your objective will be updated to speak to Verona.
Speak To Verona

After you have defeated all of the ghouls in the area, approach the porta-potty and use your telekinesis ability to remove its door. Then, a conversation will be triggered. Shortly after, you will get some dialogue options to choose from. I selected “You know I had to stop her.” and Verona was depressed by this. Then I selected “You loved her.” and Verona loved that.

After that, you can select any dialogue options and ask her some questions, or you can just select “I have heard enough.” to leave the conversation (this still will not finish the conversation, as you will have to choose one last option among a few). That said, if you choose all of the optional choices, a new dialogue “Thank you.” will appear, and upon selecting it Verona will appreciate that. Then I selected “Such addiction is dangerous.” and Verona was disturbed by that.
After that, your objective will be updated to return to Max.
Return To Max

After your conversation with Verona is over, return to Max. Follow the quest marker to reach Hole in the Wall. Upon entering, you will notice that Max is not inside, but Katsumi is. She will be at her usual spot, so approach her, and a conversation will be triggered.
Shortly after, you will get some dialogue options to choose from. I chose “Thank you for leading me to Verona.” and Katsumi appreciated that. Then I chose “How is Max working out?” and Katsumi appreciated it. If you select all of the options, a new one, “Thank you, Katsumi.” will appear. Upon selecting it, she will appreciate it, and then you will be given the last dialogue options to choose from.

I chose “I will give you advice.” and followed it up with “Lou never gave up power,” which disturbed Katsumi. After your conversation with Katsumi is over, the A Plaything Discarded quest in Bloodlines 2 will be concluded, and you will get 1500 EXP. Now, only the Little Book of Blackmail among the three quests in Bloodlines 2 is left.
Bloodlines 2 – Little Book Of Blackmail Walkthrough

After completing A Plaything Discarded quest in Bloodlines 2, the next one is Little Book of Blackmail. Open your map to choose this quest (it will be at The Dutchman). Upon selecting the quest, you will get your first objective.
Meet Tolly At The Dutchman

Follow the quest marker, and you will eventually reach The Dutchman. Once you are there, enter and go to the right. You will notice a room ahead; go inside, and Tolly will be there. Approach him to start a conversation. Shortly after, you will get some dialogue options to choose from. I selected “Have you heard what happened?” and followed it up with “It was never a sensible approach.”
This will initiate the “Little Book of Blackmail” quest, and you will get another objective.
Retrieve Benny’s Blackmail Book From The Police Station

After talking to Tolly, your objective will be updated to retrieve Benny’s blackmail book from the police station. Exit the bar and follow the quest marker. Once you enter the police station, your objective will be updated to retrieve the book, but now you have to avoid the police.

Important Note
No one will say anything to you when you are in the first room. However, once you enter the one ahead, you can’t get caught. If you do get caught, you will be sent back to the last checkpoint. So, it is better to be stealthy and make your way inside Benny’s office that way. Also, you can use your Heightened Senses ability to keep track of where the officers are.
Your aim is to enter Captain Muldoon’s office, which is north of where you enter. Upon entering, you will notice a few police officers ahead, so make sure you are crouching. Go to the left and make your way around. You now need to go to the right side and then enter Captain Muldoon’s office to your left.

However, there will be a police officer standing there, so you will need to wait a bit. Once the officer moves from his position, go ahead and enter the office, but unfortunately, you will not be able to do so. Since you cannot enter the office the normal way, your objective will be updated to enter it via Fabien’s office.
Enter Benny’s Office Via Fabien’s Office, Avoiding Police

Now that you cannot enter Benny’s office the normal way, go to the right and then head down the stairs. Enter through the door and go right. Then take a left into the interrogation room and go ahead. You will notice the officer right ahead, so wait for him to go away. Continue ahead, and you will find Fabien’s office on the right side, but it will also be locked. Go in the opposite direction, and you will notice another officer ahead of the Evidence Room.
Find The Key To Fabien’s Office In The Evidence Room, Avoiding Police

The policer officer will come your way soon, so head to the right and hide behind the locker. Once the officer is out of sight, go into the evidence room, then open the door to your north. There is an item on the right side, but the door in front of it is open, and a police officer is standing there.

However, that is not the key, so go north and then take a right. The key will be on the northeast side, on the shelf. The officer will patrol the area soon, so you can interact with the previous item. There are also some more items you can interact with.
Enter Benny’s Office Via Fabien’s Office, Avoiding Police

Now that you have the key, go back to where Fabien’s office is, but make sure not to get caught. Then, enter Fabien’s office and grab a blood elixir from the other side of the table. On the left side of the office, you will notice a steel vent cover. Use your telekinesis ability to pull the cover and crawl inside.
Keep going ahead, and you will eventually reach an end. Then, you will be inside Benny’s office.
Retrieve Benny’s Blackmail Book

Once you are inside, you can find the blackmail book on the desk. Pick it up, and then make sure to pick up the elixir using your telekinesis power from the top of the shelf to your right. Then Fabien suggests just going out the door and exiting. Follow his advice, and you will be fine.
You will not draw any attention if you simply walk away and exit the police station. Once you are out, your objective will be updated to return to Tolly.
Return To Tolly

Follow the quest marker, enter The Dutchman, and Tolly will be in the same spot. Approach him to initiate a conversation, and you will get some dialogue options to choose from. I selected “No trouble.” and Tolly was pleased by that. Then I went with “It is not for me to say.” and followed it up with “A Prince needs to adapt.” The last option will please Tolly.
Then Tolly will ask you to stay, but you can just leave. If you choose “I can stay,” the conversation will continue briefly. When the conversation ends, the Little Book of Blackmail quest will be over. Now that you have completed Tome Alone, A Plaything Discarded, and Little Book of Blackmail in Bloodlines 2, you will unlock Prove Yourself. You will also get 1500 EXP from the quest.
So from all three quests combined, you have received 4500 EXP, which is a lot. By now, you would have all of your clan abilities, so if you’re not sure what to do with the skill points, you can use them to unlock abilities from a different clan.
Bloodlines 2 – Prove Yourself Walkthrough

Once you have completed all of the aforementioned quests, you will get a new objective to rest at the haven. This quest, Prove Yourself, is just a way to conclude the three quests you just did, so you will not have to do much. That said, note that if you have any incomplete side quests or one you want to do, you will not be able to complete them if you proceed with this quest.
So, before interacting with your bed in the haven, I recommend completing all the side quests you want. Then, simply follow the quest marker, enter the haven, and interact with your bed. Upon entering the bedroom, a conversation with Fabien will be triggered.
You can choose to just sleep or talk to him. Regardless, you will not get any reaction from Fabien, so it totally depends on whether you want to have a conversation. Once your conversation ends, interact with your bed, and the quest, Prove Yourself, in Bloodlines 2, will be over. You will not get any reward for this quest, as mentioned before. It is only a means to finish the main quests you have already completed. After sleeping, you will be playing as Fabien again.
