Vampires: Bloodlord Rising is a base builder RPG where you rule over three main lands in order to rise as the new Bloodlord. This game is currently in early access, so there is a limited amount of content for now. For more information on the game, head over to its Steam page.
Ruling over all of the lands in Vampires: Bloodlord Rising is not going to be that easy. While the game does hold your hand for most of it, it can still be a little confusing at times.
By now, you would rule over two of the strongholds, so now only one remains. In this guide, you will learn how you can rule over the Grove of Sorrows easily in Vampires: Bloodlord Rising.
Disclaimer
Vampires: Bloodlord Rising is an open-world RPG, and the Grove of Sorrows walkthrough is based on my personal playthrough. Your experience may differ depending on how you approach the game. The game also features choice-based decisions that can influence the main story and lead to different outcomes. I generally chose options that result in positive consequences, but you’re free to make any choices you feel are better suited to your playstyle.

Empower The Core To Unlock Grove Of Sorrows

If you have established your rule over Hell’s Chasm and Fey Marshes, you will have enough blood capacity to be able to unlock the last land. However, do keep in mind that if any of your strongholds is attacked by inquisitors, you will lose your rule over that land.
This means that you will have to defeat the inquisitors in that area and repair the damage they cause. This can be prevented by assigning reliable vampires to guard the stronghold.
However, if you assign only one, it is most likely that the vampire will run away. So, you need to assign a couple of guards.
You will need 2400 blood to unlock the Grove of Sorrows. So while you let your servants feed the core, you can unlock this last land.
Talk To Razvan

Before heading to the newly unlocked area, talk to Razvan. Without talking to him, you will not be able to proceed even if you head to the Grove of Sorrows.
Razvan will be in his usual spot, so head there and talk to him. After talking to him, the Grove of Sorrows’ main quest will begin.
Grove Of Sorrows Quest Walkthrough
Just like the previous main quests, you have to complete three of the main objectives to complete the current main quest. The first quest you have to do is Touch of the Pale Soarer.
Touch Of The Pale Soarer

You do not have to head to the Grove of Sorrows right away. The first objective for this quest is to talk to the villager on the bridge. Head to the stone bridge and talk to Gavril. He will then give you some information, and your objective will be updated.
Get To The Attacked Area

On your compass, a quest marker will now be visible, so head there. Use the bat transformation ability to reach this area quickly.
There will be two corpses and two victims. You have to examine the former and speak with the latter. Do so, and the objective will be updated.
Go To The Grove Of Sorrows

Now, it is time to head to the newly unlocked area. To get there fast, head to the coachman and fast travel. It will not cost much money, and you will get there in the blink of an eye.
Once you reach the new area, the objective will change to ‘Find Craita’.
Find Craita

Before you follow the quest marker, notice the mausoleum on the right side. Discover it to set it as your respawn point. Then, head over to the quest marker, and you will find Craita near the giant tree. Talk to her, and she will give you a riddle to solve. There does not seem to be a right answer to this, so select any option.
I chose “It’s death,” and the conversation proceeded. After an interesting conversation with her, the Touch of the Pale Soarer objective will be completed.
Faith Beneath Faith

Faith Beneath Faith is the second main objective in the Grove of Sorrows quest. In this objective, you are tasked with gathering rumors about the cult in the Grove of Wisdom.
You already are in the Grove of Wisdom, so just go around this place and ask some NPCs about the rumors. As usual, just talking to three will not be enough. Talk to as many as it takes to get the three rumors about the cult.
Once you have gathered three rumors, the objective will be updated, and you will get the location of the cult’s hideout.
Reach The Hideout Of The Cult Of The Pale Soarer

The hideout will be marked as a quest marker on the compass, so head there. You can explore the area if you want to, and once you are done, use the bat transformation ability to reach the location quickly. If you are having a hard time finding the entrance, stop looking at the upper area.
It may seem like the hideout is up in the area, but it is not. It is actually inside a cave, so if you are in the top-most area, you won’t be able to find it. Instead, choose the normal path to go up the mountain. You will first enter a narrow pathway, as you will be running through a ravine-type area. Then, there will be a proper entrance to the cave.
Inside there are some corpses, so just go a little ahead to complete the objective.
Defeat Inquisitor Patrol

As you go ahead, you will notice that there are going to be some inquisitors in the hideout. Some of them will be carrying crossbows. Take care of them first, as they can take you out before you know it. Once you have dealt with the crossbow wielders, target the ones with shields.
Charge your attack and stun them, then defeat them to focus on the others. The ones with spears are also a bit annoying, but the sword ones are pretty easy to deal with. Other than that, there are going to be some armored foes with big hammers, too. Make sure you use your finisher on them. Once you have defeated them all, the objective will update, asking you to investigate the area.
Investigate The Cultists’ Hideout

To finish this objective, head to the back side of the altar, and you will find the clue you are looking for. Interact with Cartea Cerului Zguduit, Tome of the Pale Soarer, and the objective will be completed. Now, you need to bring this book to Craita.
After talking to her, the objective will be changed to wait until the next night. Previously, when such an objective appeared, just going out of the cave was enough. However, as you are already in the open this time, you will have to rest to pass the time.
Wait Until The Next Night

Now, you can either head over to your base and rest in the coffin to pass the time. However, note that you can’t rest in the coffin unless the day is nearing. So in your free time, you can do some exploration and other tasks.
You can collect more Vampire’s Tears, create more vampires, and unlock the serpent doors. If you want to make your castle look better, you could also focus on that. Then, rest and the objective will be updated.
Once the day passes, head over to Craita and talk to her. Once you are done talking to her, the objective Faith Beneath Faith will be completed.
Altars To Bury, Altars To Raise

This is the third and final main objective you need to complete in order to finish the Grove of Sorrows quest. In this objective, you are tasked with building three Warding Altars.
Build Warding Altars In The Grove Of Sorrows 1, 2, and 3

All the altars will be marked for you, but before you head there, you will need some materials. You will need 25 Sacred Wood, 10 Bone, and 1 Blessed Fang for each altar. You will already have three Blessed Fangs by this point, so you do not have to worry about that.
Sacred Wood can be found in the Grove of Wisdom. There will be trees you can interact with. Attack them to get Sacred Wood, and just one tree will be enough.

Bones can be found by preying on animals and then gutting them. You may already have some, and if they are stored in a chest, grab them and return.
However, if you do not have any, then preying on animals will take way too much time. Instead, explore mausoleums you have not been to yet. Inside, you will find a bunch of bones.

Only discovering one is enough to get plenty of bones. Once you have all the materials, head to each location and build the Warding Altars.
Talk To Craita

Once you have built all three Warding Altars, head over to Craita and talk to her. After talking to her, the quest Grove of Sorrows will be completed.
Although the quest is complete, you have not established your rule over the land just yet. In order to do that, you will have to build a stronghold.
Defeat The Inquisitors At The Stronghold In The Grove Of Sorrows

Head over to the quest marker, and once you reach the stronghold, note that there are going to be way too many inquisitors waiting for you. As usual, take care of the ones with crossbows first, and then shift your focus to the ones with spears and shields.
The shield users can be a pain to deal with, so make sure you have unlocked the ability that reduces the time needed to charge your attack. Counterattack the sword users and perform charged attacks on the ones with shields. If you get a finisher, do not waste it on the smaller enemies.
Always use your finisher on the armored ones, as they cannot be staggered by your normal or charged hits. Defeat the enemies, loot their bodies, and then get ready to build the stronghold.
Build The Stronghold In Grove Of Sorrows

As earning money is not that difficult in this game, I recommend spending gold to build the stronghold instead of using materials.
You can set materials like Shadowrocks for 2 gold a piece. Shadowrocks can be farmed on the way to the stronghold of Hell’s Chasm, so it is extremely simple to earn money. You can also make Chiseled Limestone and sell it.
Spend the money to build the stronghold to successfully rule over the Grove of Sorrows in Vampires: Bloodlord Rising.
