Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough of VirtuaVerse!

VirtuaVerse is a point-and-click adventure game, so it’s best to explore on your own. Pick up what you can, interact with things, talk to people, and examine all the things you can! But if you’re still stuck and don’t know what to do to proceed, find out in our walkthrough guide.

For more information on VirtuaVerse, check out the official website here.

Slums – Joining The Blade

Go left from the bike to see a range of digital graffiti on the wall. Turn off your AVR headset here and you’ll notice each graffiti is accompanied by a QR code. Use your Old Mobile Phone on each QR code to find out who did the graffiti.

Do this for every QR code you see on the wall (except the one too high to reach). This will familiarise you with the many gangs.

After you’ve scanned as many QR codes as you can, keep walking along the wall until you see a shaved-head woman in the foreground with coloured spray cans on her back. Talk to her and ask her if she’s a writer. After that, ask her about the QR codes on the wall.

Ask her about information on the groups and then go through each of the entries available. You should learn about all the groups you can, as this will help you soon.

Through her answers, you will learn that Onslaught and The Blade have bad blood between them.

Exit the conversation and go to the Electric Box. On the touchscreen, tap ‘Change Drawing’ and then look for the Onslaught design (it will be marked for you when you hover over it).

Exit the screen again and watch the cutscene.

After the cutscene ends, get on your bike and go to Pill Street. Interact with the Dead Prospect and get on the bike again to go back to the Slums.

Return to the Squat and talk to the Tattooist and ask him for a tattoo. Use the last option, to get a tattoo of The Blade. Once you have it, head out of the Squat, get on your bike, and return to Pill Street.

Access the Storage Entrance (the same one the Prospect was looking at before his untimely demise). Inside, ask the man ‘What happens now?’ and you’ll be given a toolkit. Pick up each of the items in it.

After the conversation, head out. Return to the bike to go back to the Slums.

Enter the Squat again and turn on your AVR headset if you haven’t already. Talk to one of the writers. Talk to one of them a second time. This time, you’ll have a list of options that allude to what you’ve learned about the hacker groups.

Go through these options to talk about the groups until the writers are impressed. If you don’t have enough options, then you need to examine more QR codes with your Old Mobile Phone and ask the shaved-head girl about them.

After they are impressed, Nathan will be asked to prove he is Jay’s boyfriend. Show the PlaySafe card from your inventory to the writer on the left.

After the conversation, head out of the Squat and go right.

Examine the wooden hut and the interact with the window shutter. Take the Solvent from your inventory and use it on the hut.

When the boatman is struggling to get back on his boat, talk to him and lend him a hand.

The boatman will take you to the next part of the game: The Club.
