Act Seven: The Song in the Storm

It’s time for the final act of Wandersong!

You’ll start the game in a rather dark field. Start off by heading to the left, jump up the hills along the way and onto the next screen. Head left here to find yourself in a familiar town. Past Ruby’s House, you’ll meet Miriam. After you’re done conversing with her, head left into the next screen.

On the next screen, you’ll find the townsfolk on a hill. After you’re done talking to the townsfolk, head further left into the next screen. From here, you’ll find a bird you’ll need the assistance of to jump up.

In the next screen, you’ll find the plants that you can sing to to make them grow. Have them carry you upwards and through the tunnel to the left. With the third flower, you’ll have to extend it as far up as possible (with you on it) before singing the bird’s song to jump up to the next plant. Grab the bird with your song again, and take the plant up yet again. Next, you’ll go through another series of tunnels.

Ultimately you’ll be able to jump on a ledge to the left and proceed until you find a castle.

Enter the castle and head to the left. You’ll meet the fairies here! Talk to them if you wish, and then head upwards to the door. Head through, go up the stairs, and through the next door.

Head up the incline and you’ll find the Dream King. After a long cutscene, you’ll enter a boss fight (or rather, an anti-boss fight?).

In this fight, you need to stop Audrey from killing the Dream King. Shortly after the Dream King is first damaged, the Bard will announce your objective: to steal Audrey’s sword.

In the first phase of the fight, you’ll be able to control the Dream King’s falling stars to move in the direction of your choice (they’ll still drift downwards). Use them to hit Audrey and keep her busy. Keep doing this and Miriam will attempt to snatch the sword (unsuccessfully).

In the second phase of the fight, you can control the pink roots that the Dream King shoots off in your direction. Sing to control how far they go and where they emerge, so as to block Audrey from attacking.

Keep up with this until Miriam makes another shot at grabbing the sword. In the next phase of the fight, Audrey will be able to deflect the stars coming at her, towards you. You can sing again to redirect them back to Audrey.

After a hectic battle, Miriam will finally snatch the sword from Audrey’s hands.

After the cutscene that follows, you’ll find yourself in a black-and-white world. Head to the left from here and jump up the hills, up the platforms, until you reach a bell. Sing left and right to ring the bell.

As you keep ringing the bell, an extended cutscene will follow. During the cutscene, you will get to play the instruments that you previously played while learning the Earthsong. Repeat the musical puzzles as you did them during the previous acts.

At the end of it all, you’ll have a final cutscene, followed by the credits. During the credits, you’ll be able to visit previous locations and talk to some of the people you met.

Once you get to the end of the credits section, the Bard will finally get some well-earned rest.
