Welcome to the Into Indie Games walkthrough for Wax Heads.
Wax Heads is a cozy punk narrative sim about working in a struggling record store. As you run the shop, get ready for some great music while you progress through the game, chatting with customers or slacking off with your colleagues. For more information, head over to its Steam page.
As this is a narrative simulator, your decisions may have an impact on your progress. So, in this guide, we will provide you with a walkthrough of Wax Heads Tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.

Wax Heads Walkthrough – Track 1
As you start the game, you will be asked to choose between two options: No Refunds and Customer is Always Right. Go with the latter, as it is better for beginners. Then select the track and the game will begin.
As you begin, you will again get to choose between two options since you are five minutes late. Going with either is fine, but I went with the first one: Do not fire me. After your conversation with Morgan is over, you will have to start doing your job.
There are many things you can interact with. Playing the guitar at the top right will complete an achievement. At the top left side, there is a mobile phone you can interact with to keep track of dialogue and other details.
Leave The Staff Room
Once you are familiar with everything in the room, interact with the door to leave the staff room. Then you will be in Repeater Records, and a conversation with Morgan will begin. Open up the shop by interacting with the door.
Interact With The Mimi Superfan
As you open the shop, you will get your first customer. Choose the first option, and you will make a bestie right away. Then check out the employee handbook, and your conversation with the Mimi Superfan will resume.
You now have to look for the new Mimi album. Click the arrow-down button on the screen, and on the right side, you will see a Still Mimi cover. It will have “new” written on it, so that is going to be the album you are looking for. Then head to the cart and print the receipt. Once you have done that, choose an emoji. I went with the bleh one.
Then click on the cash and confirm. With that, you will have successfully made your first sale.
Interact With Tony (Cheapskate)
As you speak with Tony, he will ask for a good bargain, so you need to find something at a discount. To find a discounted record, head left from the Still Mimi section, you will find an album to the left of Bad Toes that is over 50 percent off. That is the correct one for this customer.
Add it to the cart, then print the invoice, add the emoji, and click on the cash to complete the transaction.
Interact With Alexis
Upon talking to Alexis, you will learn that he is looking for something harmonious, so it is time to find something suitable for him. Stay in the same section where you got the album for Tony. There, select The Secret Male Choir Club option.
Sell this to Alexis, and you will get the best ranking, which is ‘Rad’.
Interact With Winston
Winston is looking for a record as a cherished memory of his husband. So now you need to find a record with a saxophone, and such a hint should be enough to find the right copy. From the Still Mimi section, head north to the door. There you will find a record with a saxophone on the cover.
It will be named Peep, so select that and add it to the cart. Print a receipt, add some emojis, and complete the transaction. You will then get the best score, so it is time to interact with another customer.
Interact With Hank
As Winston leaves, Hank arrives, and you will now have to help him out. He is an employee here who has a day off. So now you have to go flyer-making with him. Let your creative side shine here and then print the flyer.
Once you print, Hank will give his remarks, and then, after a small conversation, he will leave, and you will get a new customer.
Interact With Kelly
You need to help her get a record for her sister, and as she is a big Sister fan and the album is supposed to have a rain cloud on it, it would make it easier to find that particular album. So, from the Still Mimi section, head right, and there will be two Sister albums.
What you need is the right-hand-side one, titled Snake. Sure, there does not seem to be any cloud on the album, but when you look at the disc, the rain cloud is clearly visible. So, choose the Sister – Snake album and follow the procedure.
That was the last customer of the day, or track 1 in Wax Heads. As Morgan is talking to you, an event will occur, and Morgan will ask you if you can be quiet about the incident. Go with the first option, and when the conversation ends, the shop will be closed, and then another day will start.
Wax Heads Walkthrough – Track 2
As day 2, or track 2, starts, you will have to open the shop yourself. The shutter will be down, so interact with three of them to open the shop, and as you do, you will find yourself in the staff room talking to Abi. As you are talking to her, Tee will appear.
Then, Abi will tell you about the review of the Sister album dropped on Walking the Cow, which you can read by interacting with the mobile phone at the top left corner. Abi will then ask you whether you are into post-punk. I went with the first option, and then the conversation went on for a while.
When the conversation ends, you can interact with the laptop to buy some things to make the staff room look better. When done, explore the shop a bit. You will then notice that there are more albums. When you are done exploring, open the store, and you will get your first customer of the day.
Interact With Billy
Billy will appear as the first customer, and he is looking for a record on which Hank left a note. The album he wants is Bad Toes, located to the left of the Mimi section. When you give him that album, you will receive a perfect rating.
Interact With Chloe (Teenager)
The next customer is Chloe, a teenager who is looking for the Sister – Door To A Light album. However,.
Head right from the Mimi section, and you will see the Sister album section there. The one on the right side is Door to a Light, but as this album is challenging to newcomers (which Chloe clearly is), you should give her the first Sister album instead for a Rad rating.
The correct album has a red background and a thunderbolt design.
Interact With Kaz (Delivery Man)
He is looking for an album about breakfast, so head right from the Sister section and you will see the album Self Deprecating Toast & Jam by Ego, Sunny Side Up (sound similar to ‘We Go Running Up’ and is about breakfast food).
Add that one to the cart and follow the procedure to get the best ranking.
Interact With Lewis
Lewis is looking for something real and something sickening. Go with Bad Toes by Bad Toes (to the left of the Secret Male Choir Club album), to get a Rad rating.
After that, Tee and Abi will join you to discuss this kid who seems a little disturbing. After the discussion is over, you will get another customer.
Interact With Clarissa (Mother)
She is very specific, so you might get confused. Clarissa wants something that is not new, such as the song Unstoppable. However, if you give her the album she wants, Hidden Heart by Red, you will just get an okay score.
Now, she did say nothing new, but her daughter wants something new. So, you need to suggest something that her daughter will like, as it is her birthday. The correct option in this case is going to be the new Mimi album (Still Mimi). Select that, and you will get the best rating. After you have dealt with her, you will not get any more customers for the day.
So, now you will have a conversation with Abi and Tee. Once the conversation with them is over, the Live with Clive event will begin. When the conversation between both of them in the live event is over, you will get to choose between three questions. You can choose two of them, so choose whichever ones you want. I went with the first two.
With that, Track 2 will be over, and Track 3 will begin in Wax Heads.
Wax Heads Walkthrough – Track 3
As you enter the store, you will meet Paul. He will ask whether he can call you babes, so selecting the option depends on your preference. As you are talking to Paul, a new character, Matteo, will appear. Then, they both leave. You can decorate the staff room, and when ready, open the store.
As you leave the staff room, you will have a conversation with Paul. Once the conversation is over, open the shop, and you will then get your first customer of day 3.
Interact With Craig (Doting Boyfriend)
The first customer of Track 3 in Wax Heads is Craig. He will not be very clear about what type of record he wants, so you may get a little confused here. However, you do know that Craig is looking for a new album, so there are not that many new ones. The biggest hint here is that the puppies have very specific names, so you need to look for a similar album.
Head right from the Sister section, and at the far right side, you will see a new album from Bricked Ego. As the puppies Craig is looking after are named after the remaining band members of Brick Dog, and the newest album by them is the Bricked Ego one, select this, and you will get the perfect rating.
Interact With Mascot Dad And Mascot Daughter (Lira)
As you interact with them, you need to focus on the entire conversation, or you will get really confused. When he says mmhph or something like that, that hint is wrong. The correct one is the … one, and he only does that when his daughter mentions the beard.
There is only one album where the person on the cover has a big beard. Below the Still Mimi album, you can find Going Gringle by Garth Gringle. That is the one the Mascot Dad is looking for, so add it to the cart and print the receipt.
Interact with Lawrence
If you are confused, Lawrence is also talking about Gareth Gringle, as he is the one going solo. Since he is not a fan of Gareth Gringle, you should look at something from Brick Dog that does not have Gareth Gringle.
Go with Brick Dog, Live At The Snack Bar 2013. He will be very happy once you choose this one, so go with it.
Interact With Chip Lennington
He is looking for something flowery that seems positive but also has an air of royalty about it. The flowers hint was enough for me to choose Going Gringles from Gareth Gringle. This is the right album, so choose it and then follow the procedure. Once done, you will get the best rating.
After Chip Lennington leaves, you will have a conversation with Paul. Once that conversation is over, Patri will appear.
Interact With Patri
Patri will just ask you whether “it” is out yet, which is not a very helpful lead. However, if you observe her attire, you’ll find that she’s a fan of both Brick Dog and Ego, Sunny Side Up. As the supergroup Bricked Ego has members from both bands, and their new album Can Yer Grins has been recently released, go with that as it is the right choice.
From the Sister section, head right, and you will find this album at the very far right side.
Add it to the cart and then print a receipt to get the best rating. After that, you will have a conversation with Paul and Matteo, as Patri was the last customer of the day.
Once the conversation is over, Track 3 will be over in Wax Heads, and Track 4 will begin.
Wax Heads Walkthrough – Track 4
As you head inside the store, you will have a conversation with Paul. He will give you something to check out, and once you are done, Hank will appear. When the whole conversation is over, you will be free to explore the staff room and decorate it. Once you have decorated it, leave the staff room, and you will then have a conversation with Hank.
Once the conversation is over, open the store, and you will instantly get your first customer of the day.
Interact With Ishaan
Your first customer of the day is Ishaan, and he is asking you to recommend a local record to him. If you check Paul’s zine, you’ll learn that Bad Toes is a local band, and you have an album of theirs in stock.
From the Mimi section, head left, and select Bad Toes by Bad Toes. So, add it to the cart, and then simply print out a receipt. Then add emojis and confirm the transaction.
Interact With Jaz
The next customer you will get is Jaz. Now, if you look closely in the banned section, you will notice that the photo in the middle is Jaz’s. As you talk to her, you will get an option. Select that, and you will get two more options. As she was banned from singing in the store, select the second one.
Even after selecting that, she will still sing, and Paul will come to the rescue.
Interact With Rod
After Jaz, a new customer, Rod, will appear. His explanation may seem a little strange, but he is basically asking for a record of a person who is new in a supergroup. However, he does not want his new record. Rod wants the record by his first band.
He seems to be looking for Self Deprecating Toast & Jam by Ego, Sunny Side Up, so add that to the cart, follow the procedure, and you should be good.
Interact With Ali And Patri
Before Ali, Rita Butterfly will come, but as you do not have Willow’s albums, you will not be able to help her.
So, the next person is going to be Ali, who wants your help to impress a girl. You need to look for an album with a rectangular pattern and four legs.
From the Mimi section, head right and then right again. There you will find the Bruck album by Brick Dog. That is the one Ali is looking for as it has four legs and a rectangular pattern (the bricks), so add it to the cart.
Upon completing the transaction, Ali will ask you to give his number to the other girl.
As Ali leaves, the other girl, Patri, will arrive. Talk to Patri and give her Ali’s number. After that, you will have to look for a record for Patri’s dad.
The most gross one, in my opinion, was Unlimited Grass by Let’s Fuzz, which can be found to the left of the Mimi section. Furthermore, the ‘obnoxious writer’ is Henry Kemp from Walking the Cow, whose recommendation can be seen in the album description.
Patri is going to be the last customer of the day, so after that, you will be back in the staff room.
There, you will see Morgan, Hank, and Paul having a conversation. Then an event will happen, and shortly after that, you will have another conversation with Hank.
He will then ask you to give him a drink that will trick his brain into the idea of a beer without actually drinking it. Choose the drink ‘Can’t‘ to get the ‘Rad’ rating, as it is customary not to drink it for 10 minutes, and then another small event will happen.
Then the live with Clive show will begin, and you will have to choose two options between three. Choose any you want, and following that, Track 4 will be over.
Wax Heads Walkthrough – Track 5
As you start Track 5 or day 5, you will have a conversation with Matteo. Then, Tee will join the conversation. When the conversation is over, leave the staff room and open up the shop. As you open the shop, the first customer will appear.
Interact With Theo (Gamer Guy)
As he is stuck on a video game, he wants a rap album with symbols that make up a cheat code for the game. Head left from the Mimi section and select the album in the middle.
The Now Play This by Nia Pixel is the right option. Select the album, and then click on the cover to reveal the cheat code on the back. So, add it to the cart, follow the procedure, and you will get the best rating.
Interact With Kaz (Delivery Man)
As Kaz is a deliveryman, he is not here to buy an album for himself. This is his second visit to the record store. You now need to look for a band that has a song called Smells Delish and the band’s name is a sound, such as one that made when coughing or sneezing.
The band is called Snarl, so from the Mimi section, head left, and then head north. From there, go right and then another right. There you will find three albums. Choose the one on the left, Deadly Last Gasp of Freedom. Add it to the cart and proceed with the transaction to get the best ranking.
Interact With Winston
This is Winston‘s second visit, and this time he is looking for an album by Reggie Xavier. Now this part can be confusing, but RXX is Reggie Xavier. You can figure that out by going to the Phonogram on the mobile phone and seeing that @Tiff_tell_it has revealed that RXX is Reggie Xavier.
So, from the Mimi section, head left and select the Levitation album. Add it to the cart and follow the usual procedure.
Interact With Jarhead Dennis
You now need to find an album of Jarhead where they seem to have written a “confession of the truth” for Dennis. So, from where you got the RXX album, head north, and then right to find three albums of Jarhead. The correct option among them is the leftmost one, The Blooded Belljar, so select that one.
Give that to Dennis, and he will be overwhelmed by the sense of justice.
Interact With Tony (Cheapskate)
Tony is back, and as usual, he wants a discounted album. Not only that, but he demands the biggest bargain from the new stock. So, from the RXX album area, head north, and there you will see the Ghost Bucket album Pale.
Sure, the discount on it is not massive, but Tony is looking for a discounted album from the new stock. So, this is going to be the right one. Tony is also going to be your last customer, so after you have dealt with him, you will have a chat with Matteo, and then Tee will join.
Once the conversation is over, Track 5 will conclude.
Wax Heads Walkthrough – Track 6
As you enter the store, you will have a conversation with Hank, and shortly after, Abi will join. At the end of the conversation, Hank will ask you to do a task for him. It can be a little challenging to assemble everything perfectly, so I will share an image above so you can have an idea of what to do.
When done, you can proceed to open the store.
Interact With Summer
Summer is soaked in the rain, so she is looking for something that would cheer her up. So, head left from the Still Mimi section, and then go north. What you are looking for is the Dirt album, so add that to the cart, follow the procedure, and you will get the highest rating.
Interact With Mei
After Summer, Mei will appear, so have a small conversation with her. Then you will know that she wants a song that she can listen to and never stop dancing. So, head to the main area where you opened the shop from and select the Campsite album. That is the right option, so add it to the cart, follow the rest of the procedure, and you will get the best rating.
Interact With Billy (Wet)
Billy is back, but this time he is wet due to the rain. He will rant a bit about his album being taken off the featured section. After the rant, Billy will ask you to give him something unapologetically thumpingly loud.
So, from the Jarhead section, head right, and you will see the Snarl albums. Select the one in the middle and add it to your cart. The album I am talking about is Eye Tried by Snarl. With this album, you will get the highest rating.
Once you have dealt with him, Hank and Abi will appear to have a chat with you. Then, as the conversation is going on, the landlord, Dan Luffy, will appear. When the conversation is over, the next customer will appear.
Interact With Steven (Tired Dad)
Have a conversation with Steven, and then he will ask you to find an album that’s specifically for him. If you observe Steven, he is holding a lot of band merchandise, but his raincoat underneath has a gecko pattern. So, to get the right album for him, head north from Still Mimi, and you will see Gecko Jester.
Add it to the cart and follow the procedure.
Interact With The Hidden Customer
With the hints the hidden customer has given, it may not be very clear, but she is looking for an album by Mimi. You can find this out by checking Phonogram on the mobile phone. She is specifically looking for the new Mecha Mimi Meets Mother one, which can be found in the Mimi section. Give her that album, and she will be pretty happy. She is going to be your last customer of the day, as after selling her the album,
You will then have a conversation with Abi and Hank, and with that, day 6 or track 6 in Wax Heads will be over.
Wax Heads Walkthrough – Track 7
As you head inside the store, you will start your day by having a conversation with Hank. Then shortly after, Morgan will appear, and when the conversation ends, you will be free to organize the staff room. Once done, open the store.
Interact With Chloe (Marco’s Sister) And Marcho (Chloe’s Brother)
As you open the store, the first customer is going to be Chloe, who has appeared once before. This time, her brother will also come to help his sister out. Now, her brother suggests picking up the new RXX album, but that is surely not what Chloe wants, even if she is going along with his decision.
So, you need a rap album with girl power to satisfy your customer. The best option I could think of was Now Play This by Nia Pixel. So, choose that and add it to your cart.
Interact With Gordy
The next customer is going to be Gordy, who is looking for a record with a really thick, strong sound. So, you now need to find an album with a droning punk sound that slithers around a bass riff. You should head to the Sister section, and among the three albums, one is going to be the right option for the highest rating.
The right option is going to be the one in the middle (Snake). So, select that, and you will get the perfect rating.
Interact With Lin (Metal Head) And Roy (Metal Head)
They both are pretty vague with their hints, but it is not going to be that challenging. Lin and Roy both want an album, so now you need to get two different ones. Roy wants “Kevin’s“ number one pick, and Lin wants the fast record that “Kevin” gave two fingers to.
Now, if you check out the latest magazine in the Sister section, you will know that his name is not Kevin but Calvin, and he gave the number one rating to Deadly Last Gasp of Freedom by Snarl. So, choose that one, and the other one is going to be Shatter Fist. If you read its description and look at the second page, you will see that Calvin gave it a double thumbs up.
So, these two are the right choices. Add both of them to the cart, and you will get the perfect rating from the metal lovers.
Interact With Priya
Priya is looking for a copy of a powerful, foreboding documentary soundtrack by “Earth“. The correct option is going to be Rearview Collapse (EP) by Dirt, as that seems closest to Earth. From the Mimi section, head left and then go north. From there, select this album and you will get the perfect rating.
Interact With Darren
Darren is countering allegations that the album he wants was not written by its artist. If you check the latest magazine, you’ll find allegations that the newest Mimi album was not in fact written by Mimi.
The correct option is Mecha Mimi Meets Mother. Select this album, add it to the cart, and then continue to get the best ranking from Darren.
He is going to be the last customer of the day, so when you are done dealing with him, Morgan will appear to have a conversation with you. Then Hank will join the conversation, and shortly after, the landlord will arrive. As the conversation proceeds, a new face, James Grenth, will join.
When the conversation is over, you will talk to Morgan and Hank a bit in the staff room, and after that, the Live with Clive event will begin. You can ask two questions among the three, so choose any you like.
With that, track 7 or day 7 in Wax Heads will be over. With that, the part one walkthrough of Wax Heads is over.
